在网络背景下，中国网络小说与其译本近年来在中国内外盛行。圣骑士的传说所写作的网络都市小说《修真聊天群》在中国原创网络文学网站起点中文网上极为普及，题材、内容、写作风格及语言都符合普及读者兼网民的阅读需求与喜好。随着中国网络小说翻译网站起点国际的崛起并对海外网络小说翻译市场的介入，网络小说翻译体系发生改动，形成新的翻译模式“起点翻译模式”，改变网络小说译作生态和市场走势。《修真聊天群》的英译本由译者GodBrandy（真实身份不详）利用网名翻译。本论文将以目的论为研究路径分析GodBrandy的翻译手段，探讨《修真聊天群》译文对现阶段网络小说翻译模式的启示。《修真聊天群》内富有玄幻修真特色，由于叙事围绕“聊天群”母题并把聊天形式纳入写作，网络语言运用和特征也甚为凸显。然而，网络语言研究目前贫乏，导致网络语言翻译在翻译研究未受足够的重视。即便玄幻是网络小说中最主要的类型，玄幻词汇语库也面临相同问题，更何况非主流小说类型。In this digital era, the China’s Internet novels and its translated versions have experienced a global rise in popularity over the past few years. Cultivation Chat Group, an urban Internet novel written by the Legend of the Paladin, is very well-received in Qidian, a Chinese website for original literature content. The novel’s subject matter, content, writing style and language use fit well with the reading preferences and demands of readers, who are also Internet users. Webnovel, a Chinese translated Internet novel website, entered the overseas translated Internet novel market, and following its rise, altered the translation system of Internet novels. This resulted in the formation of a new translation system called the “Qidian translation system”, thereby transforming the ecology and market outlook of translated Internet novels. Cultivation Chat Group is a translation done by a translator going by the pseudonym GodBrandy, whose real identity is unknown. This dissertation aims to explore how the Internet novels’ translation system had influenced the translation of Cultivation Chat Group, through the analysis of GodBrandy’s translation techniques using Skopos’ Theory. Cultivation Chat Group itself contains ample amounts of Xuanhuan Xiuzhen characteristics. Moreover, the usage and attributes of Internet language are very prominent, given that the narrative revolves around the theme “chat group” and incorporates chat group features in its discourse. Currently, the state of Internet language research is lacking, as is in the case of Internet language translation. Xuanhuan might be the prevailing Internet novel genre today but its repertoire faces the same issue; the situation for alternative Internet novel genres is certainly much worse.
