Transmisión progresiva por Internet de modelos topográficos texturados

Abstract

La representación tridimensional de grandes volúmenes de datos de terreno requiere un gran número de polígonos y de texturas, significando un problema la transmisión por red de los modelos. El enfoque multiresolución permite la transmisión progresiva, es decir, la transmisión de un modelo básico de baja resolución seguido de refinamientos sucesivos hasta completar la resolución deseada. En este trabajo se presenta un nuevo modelo multiresolución denominado Bitree geométricotexturado que, a diferencia de trabajos previos en el área de modelos multiresolución, representa tanto la geometría como la textura de un tetTeno. Se plantea la aplicación del análisis multiresolución de la transformada Wavelet en el modelo Bitree. Además, se propone una arquitectura cliente-servidor Java y un algoritmo de transmisión progresiva de los modelos por Internet.
