The first work in our project was to know the concept of refugees. For this reason the students of different partners found information about it and prepared different presentation and posters about the different situation of refuggees. In every school they adapted these presentations to the national situation. Later we contacted NGO workers or refugees to listen to their experiences first hand. This contacts helped us to prepared different products for disemination of the project and for raise awareness the local community. We did different activities with the cooperation of these ONGs, visiting their exhibitions, conferences, sport activities and other cultural workshop. We also cooperated, if possible, to improve their conditions working with these NGOs raising money or collecting other goods they may need. We made different actions to contribute to make our local or regional community aware of this issue and to increase the solidarity towards the refugees. We cooperated with local institutions and we prepared some activities, like sports competitions, conferences, photographic exhibitions, intercultural expositions and activities, a choir, meetings to know the culture of the refugees and to promote the cooperation with their needs and troubles. We made too some tools that can be used in the event of refugees students arriving in our countries, in order to guarantee their integration in our schools and in our communities. We produced some movies with the information we got in the mobility, and a graphic novel explaining the situation of the refugees. We would use these products in our classes when the project finishes and would make them available to other schools or organizations working in the field of education. We are three schools located in different areas constituting gateways to the refugees’ entrance in Europe. Greece is one of the first countries that refugees reach in the European Union, and in this mobility we visited the Diavata's camp of refugees. Here we shared one day with children and teenagers playing different sports and doing different cultural acitivities. We also had different conferences of NGOs that are working in this area. In Spain we have seen a different view of refugees and we visited the Rivesaltes camp in France to know our history. With this visit we studied the situation of Republican Spanish refuggees and we thought about the idea that all people can be a refuggee. In Barcelona too we visited a cultural centre who work wtih immigrant and refuggee teenagers. In this centre our students recorded the refuggees song and did different activities. Finally, Germany means for many refugees the “dream destiny”, the end of their long struggling trip, and now it is one of the main receivers of refugees. In Germany we knew testimonies of refuggees and we visited a house of reception. As we said before, the three partner schools are located in three countries directly involved in the emergency of refugees. To get our objectives we used innovative and interdisciplinary methodology. The students worked in groups but they did some individual tasks too. We improved their skills in foreign languages and ICT tools, but we also enhanced their creativity and productivity. We also promoted their solidarity and increased their knowledge of the world. Other activities are related with different skills such as art, design, music, drama or sport. We think that we have increased their social abilities. We wanted to stir up a reaction in our community, and for this reason lots of activities were open to the public. We worked, not only with teachers or students, but also with families, local residents, authorities and press. Some of our final products are available in digital support for all the people who want to use them in their job. Finally we want our project and its objectives to stretch in time, so that some of the products and results can be used in the present refugees emergency and in the future similar circumstances.
