On May 12th a massive fire broke out at Marywilska 44, one of the Warsaw's largest shopping centers. This unexpected incident caused power outages in the surrounding area including the ICM data center where OpenAIRE services run. Efforts are underway to restore the power and to get services back online. Some functionalities will not work properly until then.

    REUNICE is a strategic project for the European Universities Alliance EUNICE which aims to align its education, research and innovation strategies through an ambitious and transformative agenda. This agenda is trans-disciplinary, intercultural, shared, and provides a long-term joint strategy for a ‘customized’ university. Becoming a true European university through REUNICE will support the efforts of the Alliance to contribute to the development of a society based on knowledge and innovation, also considering smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The implementation measures proposed aim to provide concrete life experiences for the university community as a whole. Individual experiences are focused on the development of personal attitudes such as openness and sensitivity to individual and community particularities. Institutional experiences contribute to institutional change that guarantees inclusiveness and forward-facing principles for the Alliance members. To achieve this ambitious goal, REUNICE is building cooperation between Science and Society, recruiting new talents for science and pairing scientific excellence with social responsibility. Cooperation with non-academic actors, mainly academia-business cooperation, will be reinforced. The scientific community, industry, professional organizations, policy makers, civil society and public authorities will be involved in exploring and supporting citizen science through the Alliance Competence Center, a pilot initiative clustering activity to share best practices, research infrastructures and innovation resources. REUNICE will allow the alliance to develop an ambitious common research and innovation agenda and action plan that, in turn, will address the societal challenges identified by the H2020 programme. It will contribute to the consolidation of EUNICE through the improvement and extension of the academic and research networks that have already been initiated through the activities of the Alliance.

    DOC-3D-Ceram is an innovative training network that consists of 6 academic, 1 non-profit association and 7 industry (Large companies and SME) participants focused on CERAMICS 3D PRINTING or Ceramics Additive manufacturing applied on medical and aerospace fields. The penetration of 3D-printing processes in the ceramics industry remains low. Technology achievements remain to be done, but research activities remain low. Indeed the additive manufacturing community addresses mostly metallic or polymeric materials, and the ceramics industry lacks skilled researchers likely to exploit academic proofs of concepts to innovations. Thus training is a key challenge to support innovation in the ceramics industry and for the European competitiveness. That is why a European Training Network is the most relevant to the challenge. The training programme created for this project will be sustained after the project by associative networking. Certification and qualification evaluation of early stage researcher on this topic will be created by the consortium with the methodologies developed by NPO partner. The research methodology will be based on multi-disciplinary and inter-sectorial collaborations among the project participants. The work packages will solve each VALUE CHAIN needs: (i) Feedstock, (ii) Printer, (iii) Product, (iv) Standardisation. The expected innovations are: (i) Multi-structured and tailored materials feedstocks (ii) Printer specially designed for ceramics (iii) innovative-design ceramics products (iv) standardisation actions. From the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) point of view DOC-3D-Ceram will bridges “the Valley of death” (TRL 3 to 7) from science TRL to commercial TRL. The expected successful outcomes require a joint effort from academic and industry facilitated by the synergetic work plan proposed.
