This Project started from the willingness to improve and to learn. Three schools (from Italy, Romania and Spain) found a common topic to work together, it was related to games and to tradition. We thought that working them through ICT, sports and language communication would be a great idea. So we had the objectives clear:-We wanted our students to develop the necessary communicative skills to communicate with people from other countries.-The students had to be able to communicate and work using ICT. -They had to manage the different platforms to work on the project.-They would play traditional games and make an effort to play them properly.-They would have to be conscious of the different cultures and people living in the E.U.-The staff in all schools needed to improve their language and digital skills in order to develop proper and innovative teaching.-The teachers and institutions needed to accomplish the terms and conditions adopted in the project.-We all wanted to learn from our peers, students and the experiences. There has been a group of 1000 students (from 3 to 16 years old) involved directly in the project, they were selected because they had to fit the characteristics of this project. The groups from every country were heterogeneous, so there was a variety of students working on the activities proposed. Some of them live in big cities, whereas others live in small towns in rural areas. This is an important aspect as everyone of them had to contribute with their personal experiences. The activities and methodology were the following:-Exchanging emails, that means writing and reading.-Chatting by using video calls, listening and speaking.-Explaining and recording how the traditional games were played in the different countries.-Playing the different games from the different countries.-Exercising in a different way in order to keep and motivate them to be fit.-Using ICT tools to develop strategic skills and improving language communication by using a foreign language. -Learning about the culture, geographical situation, language...of all partners. We expected to achieve the following results and benefits in the long run:-Better preparation of teachers to their teaching career.-Improvement of all competences by the students: linguistic, digital, social...-Deeper knowledge of the European reality.-Consciousness of the importance of being fit through all our life.-Building a bridge between past and the future generations in order to take advantage of the knowledge and traditions.-Being able to cooperate with others and to create your own future labour career.-Exploiting all the full potential that students and people have. The impact we expected to achieve was based on personal achievements and global improvements in the areas where this was implemented.First of all, both students and teachers could obtain several benefits after the project. For instance, better command of the English language and digital tools, a more active implication in the educational and social community, a deeper awareness of the importance of keeping fit, a more comprehensive knowledge about our traditions and an exhaustive familiarity about the European reality and its cultural and linguistic richness. In addition, the project caused a positive impact on the students and the whole community around as it reinforced their transversal capacities which are a key point in the future life career as they are really valued by employers worldwide. We hope these students will manage better to cope in different situations and they will have less probability to suffer unemployment thanks to all the knowledge and experiences acquired. This is one of the reasons we decided to do mobilities: they are very important to achieve some of the competences we expected our students to achieve, which will also very helpful for their future curriculum and motivation to carry out Erasmus projects. All the partners are making a good use of the realization and dissemination of the project in order that our European colleagues realize of the importance of working cooperatively to achieve any objective that can help to improve our students' skills and competences. Besides, people around can use the book we published, “The Chest of Tradigames”: it is a compilation of several traditional games from some countries in Europe, it can be used as a transversal subject with students.

This project came about as a result of previous Comenius partnerships. The objectives of this project were to: train staff to create, maintain and develop a Virtual Learning Environment ie a Moodle. This provided a safe, password protected environment for staff and pupils to communicate, work together and exhibit, exchange and evaluate their completed work. The curriculum focus used to drive the Moodle forward was to be the acquisition of a second language and teaching/learning about the environment and environmental issues. The project was child-centred right from the beginning with pupils involved in planning the activities through the setting up of an Erasmus Plus committee in each school.Partners came from six European countries some of whom had previously worked together on past projects. Countries participating were: Ireland, Northern Ireland, Finland, Spain, Greece and Italy. As a result of the project staff and pupils gained knowledge, skills and competencies which enabled them to use a Virtual Learning Environment, and to successfully obtain Green Flag status for their institutions. Staff and pupils travelled and experienced the culture and the education system of the hosting partner institutions and we believe this experience will benefit their Lifelong Learning.

Our Project is entitled “Compassionate Global Citizens” and arose as we reflected on how far our schools have come collectively in the 15+ years we have been involved in Comenius and latterly Erasmus+. In that time we have seen a great change in the way in which we communicate as ICT has greatly enhanced our communication, we hope that video conferencing will take this a step further allowing us to enter each other’s schools and classrooms in real time. It has great potential to enhance teaching and learning by allowing us to share our expertise “live”, whether this is through sharing staff with expertise in particular areas, or allowing pupils to meet face to face especially younger pupils who due to age would be unable to travel. This would provide the stimulus for pupils to explore, share and create ideas and ultimately their own works of Recycled Art, presentations on their research on issues affecting their communities and sharing information about their country of focus outside of Europe. We believe firmly that the UN Sustainable Goals are an ideal platform through which to develop not only Cultural Awareness but also much coveted employability skills, such as flexibility, perseverance, creative thinking + problem solving. Culture is at the heart of all our communities and has been a feature of mankind since the beginning of recorded times. Each generation has developed and left its mark for the next, unfortunately the impact of our current generation on the environment, affects not only plant and animal existence but also that of mankind itself. We must change our lifestyles to lessen our impact and it is vital that the next generation learns from our mistakes. With the rapid advances made through technological developments we are in danger of losing skills that are no longer deemed financially viable or necessary and to this end we have integrated art+ crafts through use of recycled materials and sustainable farming and fishing methods so our elder community members and green advocates can share knowledge and skills with our young people. In turn our young people can share their world of computers, virtual classrooms and video conferencing. Our partnership consists of 5 countries, France, Ireland, Spain, Greece and Northern Ireland, representing both rural and urban life. Our schools range in size from 1,000 to only 15 pupils and span the age range of 3 to 15 years. 5 of the 6 schools have worked together in previous successful partnerships and we view our bond as much more than a working partnership, we are Europeans, educationalists, colleagues and friends. As a result of our project our pupils will develop as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to society. Success will be measured through their engagement and commitment to the project, how they involve their parents + grandparents in the project and attendance at our final activity our “Big Classroom Exhibition” either in physically in person or virtually through video conferencing.

Our Project is entitled “The European Travelling Arts Exhibition” and arose as we reflected on how far our schools have come collectively in the 15+ years we have been involved in Comenius and latterly Erasmus+. In that time we have seen a great change in the way in which we communicate and whilst ICT has greatly enhanced our communication, in other ways we recognise that we have lost something of the excitement and thrill experienced on receipt of a letter or parcel through the post. Thus to recreate something of this excitement in our schools we decided that to receive a monthly parcel would spark excitement and renewed enthusiasm with our pupils for a new joint project. So the idea of a “Travelling Art Work” was born, a piece of music or a painting chosen by each partner to represent the Culture of their country. This would then be the stimulus for pupils to explore, share and create ideas and ultimately their own works of ArtWe believe firmly that the Arts is the ideal curriculum area through which to develop not only Cultural Awareness but also much coveted employability skills, such as flexibility, perseverance, creative thinking + problem solving. Culture is at the heart of all our communities and has been a feature of mankind since the beginning of recorded times. Each generation has developed and left its mark for the next, however with the rapid advances made through technological developments we are in danger of losing skills that are no longer deemed necessary and to this end we have integrated Folk Art into our project so that the older generation of our communities can share knowledge and skills with our young people, skills such as knitting, crochet, weaving etc. and in turn our young people can share their world of computers, virtual classrooms and creative Apps. Our partnership consists of 6 countries, France, Poland, Ireland, Spain, Greece and Northern Ireland, representing both rural and urban life. Our schools range in size from 1,000 to only 15 pupils and span the age range of 3 to 15 years. 4 of the 6 schools have worked together in previous successful partnerships and we view our bond as much more than a working partnership, we are Europeans, educationalists colleagues and friends. As a result of our project our pupils will develop as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to society. Our project was originally designed to ensure that the cultural heritage of our countries could be shared through the medium of art. We had hoped that through working in the area of art the children would gain a meaningful understanding of their own cultures and also the diversity of cultures found within Europe. The project came about as partners met through E-Twinning and some former friendships from past projects. A preliminary meeting was held in Galway between the Italian, Irish and English teams. It was during this meeting that the basis of the project was formed and the application was initiated. Together we created the acronym for our project, @Museart. This summarised our main focus for the project, art, museums, ICT and amusement.By promoting and improving the skills of both teachers and children in the area of art, our objective was to allow them to use these skills in other areas of learning and life situations. We ensured that our project was inclusive and involved all members of school communities regardless of ethnicity, socio-economic background or academic achievement. Our aim to foster the continuous professional development of our teachers through the sharing of ideas and various pedagogical approaches within our European Community of schools was important. Our main aims were: To enrich the culture of each partner by exploring the main artistic places of each participating country and exploring the various cultures, traditions and places associated with art and creativity. We used art as a means of developing curricular material to improve the talents and abilities of the students. By participating in the various activities of the project, the children were enabled to develop a wide range of life-long learning skills such as literacy, ICT and a appreciation for aesthetic beauty. The choice of art as medium for developing these skills proved to be very effective because it is inclusive by nature and allowed all of the children to express their talents. To enhance the teacher’s overall professional development we improved their cultural knowledge, shared innovative teaching methodologies, exchanged excellent practice and provided learning opportunities and cultural stimuli. The project involved 9 schools from 8 different countries around Europe. The schools serve a wide variety of socio-economic communities and a wide variety of ethnic diversity. Having completed the activities the children are equipped with the knowledge, abilities and attitudes necessary to appreciate the unique artistic differences and similarities between the various cultures of our European partners now and into the future. One of the outcomes of the various activities and workshops was the development and improvement of and language skills which was evident during workshops, meetings and school visits. This project provided entrepreneurship opportunities by creating on-line resources, videos, exhibitions, workshops and artistic creations that were utilised by each visiting team. The long term benefits of the project are plentiful. As well as creating a lifelong friendship between partners, it has deepened our understanding of one another’s culture. The children’s immersion into the project has allowed them to develop friendships and understanding for a wider European community, the importance of its unity but also to recognise their own important culture.
