Rimbo Ilir transmigration settlement was opened for the first time in 1978. This transmigration area is a residential area for transmigrants originating from Wonogiri Regency. This study aims to determine the process of entering the transmigration community in Rimbo Ilir District, Tebo Regency, the dynamics of the transmigration community in Rimbo Ilir and the development of the socio-economic life of the Javanese transmigrant community in Rimbo Ilir District. This study used a historical research method consisting of four steps, namely collection of sources, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. Sources that are widely used in this study are oral sources because the perpetrator is still there and allows him to be interviewed. The results showed that the transmigrants who came were Bedol Desa transmigrants who came from Wonogiri Regency. The background of the arrival of the transmigrants was that their area was inundated by the construction of the Gajah Mungkur Reservoir and to improve economic life by opening new land. Since the arrival of the transmigrants, their socio-economic life has grown rapidly because of the rapid development of rubber plants and the price is quite expensive, the harvest period is relatively fast and the risk of loss is minimal, making the economic situation of the transmigration community gradually improved.

The development of Islamic education in Jambi, the establishment of the White Langgar by Sheikh Khotib Mas'ud in 1868, then continued with the association of alumni scholars of alMadrasty Shalatiyah and the Darul Ulum madrasa in Mecca which began to build a learning place called maktab (kuttab house) and madrasas called with a reed madrasa because it was built with materials from bamboo. The early madrasas that were established and eventually became the parent for the madrasas in Jambi included the Sa'adatuddarein madrasa in Tahtulyaman village which was led by Sheikh Ahmad bin Abdul Syakur; the Nurul Islam madrasa in Tanjung Pasir led by H. Kemas Muhammad Soleh bin H. Kemas Muhammad Yasin; the Nurul Iman madrasa in Ulu Gedong led by H. Ibrahim bin Sheikh A. Majid; and Madrasah Al-Jauharen in Sungai Asam Darat village (Kampung Manggis, Jambi city now) which is led by H. Usman bin H. Ali. Islamic education then experienced developments starting after the organizational scholars realized the Tsamaratul Insan Association in 1915. The existence of Islamic educational institutions has a role in building the nation, especially the Jambi Malay State where the knowledge developed is equivalent and relevant to the civilization that continues to develop from time to time. The writing of this paper uses historical methods consisting of heuristics (collection of sources), source criticism, interpretation (interpretation), and historiography (writing).

The existence of air transportation cannot be separated from human life that supports politics and defense and security. The Paal Merah Jambi airport has been around since 1933 and is a symbol of the transportation revolution of the Jambi area. Dutch military aggression I and II helped drag Paal Merah into conflict by using it as one of the entrances to control Jambi and as an important transportation asset. On the other hand, during military aggression the Jambi government had planned to build an airline but failed. This study aims to determine the history and role of the Paal Merah Jambi airport during the Dutch military aggression. The research method used in this research is historical methods, consisting of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. Through this method, it shows that the construction of Paal Merah Jambi airport is influenced by the need for efficient transportation for communication and defense. However, over time it has begun to penetrate the economic sector through commercial flights. The construction of the Paal Merah Jambi airport is indeed influenced by economic, social and political backgrounds. In its historical development, Paal Merah Jambi airport is an important aircraft transit place for domestic and international flights. In addition, this place also provides aircraft refueling, which is no longer found.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the development of plantations and the lives of workers in the Kayu Aro tea plantation, which is one of the largest tea plantations in Indonesia. Focus discussion lies in the life of Kayu Aro tea plantation workers using a socio-economic approach. The results of this study indicate socio-economic conditions of Kayu Aro tea plantation workers who are mostly imported from Java because of difficulty of finding workers around the plantation, which was once an uninhabited forest, has differences, especially with plantations in East Sumatra, which is an area with a community of workers from Java which is huge. This difference is influenced by the location of the plantation, time or period, government policies, company management and the environment. Kayu Aro tea plantation was founded in 1925 by NV.HVA (Namlodse Venotchaaf Handel Vereniging Amsterdam). Kayu Aro tea plantation was planned by NV.HVA to be the largest and widest tea plantation in its time so that everything that supports the plan is well prepared. Kayu Aro tea plantation workers in the colonial period received high wages and had good relations with plantation management making the labor situation better than plantation workers in East Sumatra.
