The objective is to raise and establish a framework for problem-solving in the application of separation of variables for the wave equation. This leads to a simple and easy pathway to make the topic at a manageable level for the students. This paper proposes a base problem, over which the heuristic instruction is applied. Eventually, the result is the determination of a system that allows a simple approach to avoid difficulties in solving problems in which the separation of variables in the equation of the wave is employed. In order to determine the impact of heuristic in students learning gain, two groups of 20 students each (experimental and control) were subject to a pre- and post-test. To the control group, the scheme proposed was not employed. In contrast to the experimental the proposed approach was employed. The results reveal that the heuristic scheme for wave equation problem-solving has a significant impact on students’ learning process. En este artículo presentamos un método teórico de solución al problema general de propagación unidimensional de ondas que permiten dividir el problema en otros de menor complejidad. Aplicando el método de separación de variables de Fourier y la Transformada de Laplace se obtiene detalladamente la solución analítica al problema no homogéneo del látigo. Palabras clave: Ecuación de onda, Transformada de Laplace, Solución analítica. ABSTRACT: Because of the complexity of the wave overlay solution method, finding analytical solutions in partial differential equations becomes complicated. In this article we present a theoretical method of solution to the general problem of unidimensional propagation of waves which allows the division of the problem into other smaller complexities. Es producto de una recopilación bibliográfica y constituirá parte del marco teórico. Pretende ser una aproximación al estado de situación de algunas de las investigaciones similares que se vienen realizando, particularmente en países de Latinoamérica. El interés por conocer la percepción social que un grupo determinado de personas tiene de las ciencias y la tecnología adquiere cada vez más relevancia y se ha posicionado en un lugar significativo en los estudios e investigaciones internacionales que se vienen desarrollando. La identificación y análisis de las representaciones sociales que poseen los ciudadanos contribuye al conocimiento de las creencias, los valores y las actitudes que los sujetos tienen respecto de un tema en particular y cómo inciden en sus relaciones sociales y en la toma de decisiones en la vida cotidiana. ABSTRACT: This work is part of a research on public perception of science and technology that is being carried out in Bogota-Colombia (Universidad Militar Nueva Granada) and which takes as reference a study on said topic made in Cordoba-Argentina. It is the product of a bibliographical compilation and will form part of the theoretical framework. It intends to be an approximation to the state of affairs of other research studies that have been carried out, particularly in Latin American countries. The interest to know about the social perception that a certain group of people has of the sciences and technology has become increasingly relevant and significant in the international research work that is being done. En ellas se encuentran una variedad de flavonoides que contribuyen a la actividad antioxidante, la cual juega un papel importante en el tratamiento de las enfermedades gastrointestinales. Además, se hace una breve revisión de los estudios etnobotánicos de plantas medicinales publicados en el Ecuador. Abstract In this article a review of the main secondary metabolites found in the medicinal plants families Lamiaceae, Asteraceae, Plantaginaceae, Rutaceae, Zingiberaceae, Fabaceae, Poaceae is carried out, finding a variety of flavonoids that contribute to the antioxidant activity, which plays an important role in the heal of gastrointestinal diseases. In addition, a brief review of the ethnobotanical studies of medicinal plants published in Ecuador is made.

Se aisló e identificó por primera vez a partir de Rosmarinus officinalis por dos químicos italianos, Scarpati y Oriente en 1958. Se realizó fraccionamiento ácido-base sobre el extracto hidroalcoholico crudo (ECH), con el propósito de obtener únicamente fracción de ácidos fuertes (Af). La misma se separó por cromatografía de columna para obtener la subfracción Af-1, a partir de la cual se aisló un sólido amarillo con PF 170 °C, el cual se caracterizó química y espectroscópicamente por UV, IR y RMN 1H, 13C y se identificó como ácido rosmarínico. Abstract Different investigations on the Boraginaceae family have focused on the search for substances of proven pharmacological activity. The Cordia sebestena species, has not been studied as much, in a chemical and pharmacological way, so it is interesting to study this endemic plant in the western Venezuelan region. The plant material was collected in the city of Maracaibo, Zulia state. Raw hydroalcoholic extract was obtained from the fresh leaves by maceration with isopropanol-water (7: 3). By means of acid-base extraction, the fraction of strong acids was obtained. It was separated by column chromatography to obtain Af-1 subfraction, from which a yellow solid was isolated with mp 170 ° C, which was characterized chemically and spectroscopically by UV, IR and 1H, 13C NMR and identified as rosmarinic acid. Rosmarinic acid is an ester of caffeic acid and 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl lactic acid, a natural phenyl propanoid, which is found mainly in the species of the family Boraginaceae, the subfamily Nepetoideae of the family Lameaceae and in some lower plants such as Ferns. Universidad Técnica de Manabí, Portoviejo, Ecuador Henry Fernández Rodríguez; Michel Enrique Gamboa Graus;Henry Fernández Rodríguez; Michel Enrique Gamboa Graus;Resumen Las escuelas contemporáneas se dotan de nuevas tecnologías, entre ellas las computadoras, por lo que constituye un reto su utilización en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. El proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la Geometría es uno de los que presenta mayores dificultades en la Matemática Educativa actual. Estas están relacionadas fundamentalmente con la actualización didáctica necesaria para hacer corresponder dicho proceso con los adelantos tecnológicos existentes en campos como la informática y la comunicación. En el trabajo se ofrecen recomendaciones metodológicas a los profesores y se muestran algunas actividades diseñadas donde se utiliza un programa computarizado de aplicación como es el Geogebra, que facilita revelar sus cualidades y potencialidades y transformar el proceso didáctico de la Geometría. En estas se tienen en cuenta los niveles de desarrollo del pensamiento geométrico, la formación por etapas de las acciones mentales y la didáctica para un aprendizaje desarrollador. Su implementación práctica, en el centro de referencia provincial, reveló cambios actitudinales de los estudiantes hacia la asignatura y mejoras significativas en su aprendizaje. Abstract Contemporary schools are provided with new technologies, including computers, so it is challenging its use in the teaching-learning process. The process of teaching and learning of geometry is one of the major difficulties in the current Mathematics Education. These are mainly related to the necessary update of didactics to match the process with existing technological advances in fields such as Information and Communication. At work, methodological recommendations are offered to teachers and some activities designed where a computer application program is used as the Geogebra, which facilitates reveal their qualities and potentials and transform the educational didactic process of geometry. Levels of development of geometrical thinking are taken into account, the stepwise formation of mental actions and teaching for a developer learning. Its practical implementation in the provincial center of reference, revealed attitudinal changes of students towards the subject and significant improvements in their learning.

The objective is to raise and establish a framework for problem-solving in the application of separation of variables for the wave equation. This leads to a simple and easy pathway to make the topic at a manageable level for the students. This paper proposes a base problem, over which the heuristic instruction is applied. Eventually, the result is the determination of a system that allows a simple approach to avoid difficulties in solving problems in which the separation of variables in the equation of the wave is employed. In order to determine the impact of heuristic in students learning gain, two groups of 20 students each (experimental and control) were subject to a pre- and post-test. To the control group, the scheme proposed was not employed. In contrast to the experimental the proposed approach was employed. The results reveal that the heuristic scheme for wave equation problem-solving has a significant impact on students’ learning process. En este artículo presentamos un método teórico de solución al problema general de propagación unidimensional de ondas que permiten dividir el problema en otros de menor complejidad. Aplicando el método de separación de variables de Fourier y la Transformada de Laplace se obtiene detalladamente la solución analítica al problema no homogéneo del látigo. ABSTRACT: Because of the complexity of the wave overlay solution method, finding analytical solutions in partial differential equations becomes complicated. In this article we present a theoretical method of solution to the general problem of unidimensional propagation of waves which allows the division of the problem into other smaller complexities. Es producto de una recopilación bibliográfica y constituirá parte del marco teórico. Pretende ser una aproximación al estado de situación de algunas de las investigaciones similares que se vienen realizando, particularmente en países de Latinoamérica. El interés por conocer la percepción social que un grupo determinado de personas tiene de las ciencias y la tecnología adquiere cada vez más relevancia y se ha posicionado en un lugar significativo en los estudios e investigaciones internacionales que se vienen desarrollando. La identificación y análisis de las representaciones sociales que poseen los ciudadanos contribuye al conocimiento de las creencias, los valores y las actitudes que los sujetos tienen respecto de un tema en particular y cómo inciden en sus relaciones sociales y en la toma de decisiones en la vida cotidiana. ABSTRACT: This work is part of a research on public perception of science and technology that is being carried out in Bogota-Colombia (Universidad Militar Nueva Granada) and which takes as reference a study on said topic made in Cordoba-Argentina. It is the product of a bibliographical compilation and will form part of the theoretical framework. It intends to be an approximation to the state of affairs of other research studies that have been carried out, particularly in Latin American countries. The interest to know about the social perception that a certain group of people has of the sciences and technology has become increasingly relevant and significant in the international research work that is being done. Identifying and analyzing citizens' social representations contributes to understanding people's beliefs, values and attitudes about a particular issue and how they affect their social relations and decision-making in everyday life. En ellas se encuentran una variedad de flavonoides que contribuyen a la actividad antioxidante, la cual juega un papel importante en el tratamiento de las enfermedades gastrointestinales. Además, se hace una breve revisión de los estudios etnobotánicos de plantas medicinales publicados en el Ecuador. Abstract In this article a review of the main secondary metabolites found in the medicinal plants families Lamiaceae, Asteraceae, Plantaginaceae, Rutaceae, Zingiberaceae, Fabaceae, Poaceae is carried out, finding a variety of flavonoids that contribute to the antioxidant activity, which plays an important role in the heal of gastrointestinal diseases. In addition, a brief review of the ethnobotanical studies of medicinal plants published in Ecuador is made.

Se aisló e identificó por primera vez a partir de Rosmarinus officinalis por dos químicos italianos, Scarpati y Oriente en 1958. Se realizó fraccionamiento ácido-base sobre el extracto hidroalcoholico crudo (ECH), con el propósito de obtener únicamente fracción de ácidos fuertes (Af). La misma se separó por cromatografía de columna para obtener la subfracción Af-1, a partir de la cual se aisló un sólido amarillo con PF 170 °C, el cual se caracterizó química y espectroscópicamente por UV, IR y RMN 1H, 13C y se identificó como ácido rosmarínico. Abstract Different investigations on the Boraginaceae family have focused on the search for substances of proven pharmacological activity. The Cordia sebestena species, has not been studied as much, in a chemical and pharmacological way, so it is interesting to study this endemic plant in the western Venezuelan region. The plant material was collected in the city of Maracaibo, Zulia state. Raw hydroalcoholic extract was obtained from the fresh leaves by maceration with isopropanol-water (7: 3). By means of acid-base extraction, the fraction of strong acids was obtained. It was separated by column chromatography to obtain Af-1 subfraction, from which a yellow solid was isolated with mp 170 ° C, which was characterized chemically and spectroscopically by UV, IR and 1H, 13C NMR and identified as rosmarinic acid. Rosmarinic acid is an ester of caffeic acid and 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl lactic acid, a natural phenyl propanoid, which is found mainly in the species of the family Boraginaceae, the subfamily Nepetoideae of the family Lameaceae and in some lower plants such as Ferns. El proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la Geometría es uno de los que presenta mayores dificultades en la Matemática Educativa actual. Estas están relacionadas fundamentalmente con la actualización didáctica necesaria para hacer corresponder dicho proceso con los adelantos tecnológicos existentes en campos como la informática y la comunicación. En el trabajo se ofrecen recomendaciones metodológicas a los profesores y se muestran algunas actividades diseñadas donde se utiliza un programa computarizado de aplicación como es el Geogebra, que facilita revelar sus cualidades y potencialidades y transformar el proceso didáctico de la Geometría. En estas se tienen en cuenta los niveles de desarrollo del pensamiento geométrico, la formación por etapas de las acciones mentales y la didáctica para un aprendizaje desarrollador. Su implementación práctica, en el centro de referencia provincial, reveló cambios actitudinales de los estudiantes hacia la asignatura y mejoras significativas en su aprendizaje. Abstract Contemporary schools are provided with new technologies, including computers, so it is challenging its use in the teaching-learning process. The process of teaching and learning of geometry is one of the major difficulties in the current Mathematics Education. These are mainly related to the necessary update of didactics to match the process with existing technological advances in fields such as Information and Communication. At work, methodological recommendations are offered to teachers and some activities designed where a computer application program is used as the Geogebra, which facilitates reveal their qualities and potentials and transform the educational didactic process of geometry. Levels of development of geometrical thinking are taken into account, the stepwise formation of mental actions and teaching for a developer learning. Its practical implementation in the provincial center of reference, revealed attitudinal changes of students towards the subject and significant improvements in their learning.
