EnglishDespite the fact that the Southeast Atlantic stratocumulus region has some very important characteristics, it has been poorly studied compared to others regions in the World. This study aims to introduce a climatology of this region, built thanks to modern observations and reanalysis, in order to better understand the stratocumulus deck properties and especially its seasonal cycle. Those low-level clouds are likely to form above cold sea surface, during austral winter, with anticyclonic conditions. In the studied case, biomass-burning aerosols emitted from Africa play a key role on the stratocumulus deck. This study confirms Klein and Hartmann, 1993 previous results and brings more new information. francaisBien que l'atmosphere surplombant le bassin sud-est de l'Atlantique presente de nombreuses caracteristiques tres importantes, elle n'a ete que peu etudiee par rapport a d'autres regions du monde. L'etude ici presentee etablit une climatologie de cette region, a partir d'observations et de reanalyses recentes, afin de mieux etudier les proprietes, et notamment le cycle saisonnier, des stratocumulus marins. Ces nuages bas ont tendance a se former au-dessus d'eaux froides, pendant l'hiver austral, dans des conditions anticycloniques. Dans le cas etudie, les aerosols emis par la combustion de biomasse sur le continent africain jouent un role determinant vis-a-vis d'eux. Cette etude confirme les resultats obtenus par Klein et Hartmann en 1993 et apporte quelques informations nouvelles.
