    Ponència de Verónica Sierra Blas, professora de la Universidad de Alcalá, en el marc del XXè Seminari Internacional de Cultura Escrita i Visual "Josepa Arnall Juan", titulada "Els sabers empírics o de l'experiència i els sabers reglats de les dones a Europa". Inicia la seva exposició amb una introducció metodològica centrada en la història de la cultura escrita, amb especial atenció a l'epigrafia. Aquesta investigadora destaca la importància de la carta com a font històrica, posant de manifest l'estudi profund dels discursos epistolars. Aquests discursos, que han evolucionat al llarg del temps, es troben fortament tipificats, sostenint-se en models universals que han estat reconeguts i imitats al llarg de la història. Aquests manuals, concebuts com a part d'una literatura didàctica, han tingut com a objectiu ensenyar i regular l'escriptura epistolar, promovent així una política específica de la producció escrita que ha experimentat canvis al llarg del temps. Sierra Blas desenvolupa la seva anàlisi des de l'època medieval fins als nostres dies, destacant moments significatius com el segle III, on les dones són excloses dels primers manuals coneguts, i el segle XV, en què les referències a les dones en aquests manuals comencen a ser més evidents, encara que de manera fugaç i tangencial. La seva exposició es deté en el "Primero Libro de cartas mensageras en estilo cortesano" (1547-1553) de Gaspar de Texeda, únic en la seva època, que incorpora preceptes específics per instruir les dones en l'art epistolar. En ell s'observa un equilibri de models epistolars per homes i per a dones, es consideren a ambdós sexes com a corresponsals de les cartes, apareixen els models de les dones amb cartes de diferents tipologies i es té en compte a dones de diferent rang, edat i condició. Després de revisar l'evolució dels manuals epistolars fins al segle XVII, Sierra Blas destaca que a partir d'aquest moment l'art epistolar comença a ser considerat com un gènere d'escriptura femení, especialment per la facilitat amb què les dones poden expressar els seus sentiments. No obstant això, aquesta consideració ve acompanyada d'una certa pàtina de menyspreu. Al segle XVIII, malgrat l'augment de les obres de literatura femenina, hi persisteix una certa restricció en l'activitat epistolar femenina dins l'àmbit privat, mentre que en l'àmbit públic es fa palesa la dominació masculina. Els segles XIX i XX, amb la democratització de la cultura escrita, marquen un canvi significatiu en la percepció de la carta com a mitjà universal, tot i que no s'esvaeixen completament les diferències de gènere. A partir d'aquest moment, es detecten manuals anònims destinats al gran públic, amb un caràcter pràctic, i destaca que no és fins als anys setanta del segle XX apareix la primera dona autora d'un manual epistolar. Aquesta proliferació de manuals coincideix amb un món en transició, en què la societat passa d'una alfabetització restringida a una alfabetització generalitzada, amb les dones integrant-se cada vegada més al sistema educacional, incorporant-se al mercat laboral i guanyant drets. En la seva conclusió, Sierra Blas remarca que els manuals de cartes estan en perill d'extinció i que la distinció de gènere s'està diluint progressivament. L'estudi de la correspondència femenina, segons l'exposició de Sierra Blas, emergeix com a eina útil per repensar i aprofundir en les cultures i sociabilitats femenines al llarg de la història, constituint una font clau per a l'estudi de gènere. Així La correspondència femenina, citant les paraules de Darcie Doll, es presenta com "una pràctica femenina i feminista" i com "un territori excepcionalment favorable per ser apropiat des de la nostra marginalitat per fer front als discursos hegemònics".     Ponència de Verónica Sierra Blas, professora de la Universidad de Alcalá, en el marc del XXè Seminari Internacional de Cultura Escrita i Visual "Josepa Arnall Juan", titulada "Els sabers empírics o de l'experiència i els sabers reglats de les dones a Europa". Inicia la seva exposició amb una introducció metodològica centrada en la història de la cultura escrita, amb especial atenció a l'epigrafia. Aquesta investigadora destaca la importància de la carta com a font històrica, posant de manifest l'estudi profund dels discursos epistolars. Aquests discursos, que han evolucionat al llarg del temps, es troben fortament tipificats, sostenint-se en models universals que han estat reconeguts i imitats al llarg de la història. Aquests manuals, concebuts com a part d'una literatura didàctica, han tingut com a objectiu ensenyar i regular l'escriptura epistolar, promovent així una política específica de la producció escrita que ha experimentat canvis al llarg del temps. Sierra Blas desenvolupa la seva anàlisi des de l'època medieval fins als nostres dies, destacant moments significatius com el segle III, on les dones són excloses dels primers manuals coneguts, i el segle XV, en què les referències a les dones en aquests manuals comencen a ser més evidents, encara que de manera fugaç i tangencial. La seva exposició es deté en el "Primero Libro de cartas mensageras en estilo cortesano" (1547-1553) de Gaspar de Texeda, únic en la seva època, que incorpora preceptes específics per instruir les dones en l'art epistolar. En ell s'observa un equilibri de models epistolars per homes i per a dones, es consideren a ambdós sexes com a corresponsals de les cartes, apareixen els models de les dones amb cartes de diferents tipologies i es té en compte a dones de diferent rang, edat i condició. Després de revisar l'evolució dels manuals epistolars fins al segle XVII, Sierra Blas destaca que a partir d'aquest moment l'art epistolar comença a ser considerat com un gènere d'escriptura femení, especialment per la facilitat amb què les dones poden expressar els seus sentiments. No obstant això, aquesta consideració ve acompanyada d'una certa pàtina de menyspreu. Al segle XVIII, malgrat l'augment de les obres de literatura femenina, hi persisteix una certa restricció en l'activitat epistolar femenina dins l'àmbit privat, mentre que en l'àmbit públic es fa palesa la dominació masculina. Els segles XIX i XX, amb la democratització de la cultura escrita, marquen un canvi significatiu en la percepció de la carta com a mitjà universal, tot i que no s'esvaeixen completament les diferències de gènere. A partir d'aquest moment, es detecten manuals anònims destinats al gran públic, amb un caràcter pràctic, i destaca que no és fins als anys setanta del segle XX apareix la primera dona autora d'un manual epistolar. Aquesta proliferació de manuals coincideix amb un món en transició, en què la societat passa d'una alfabetització restringida a una alfabetització generalitzada, amb les dones integrant-se cada vegada més al sistema educacional, incorporant-se al mercat laboral i guanyant drets. En la seva conclusió, Sierra Blas remarca que els manuals de cartes estan en perill d'extinció i que la distinció de gènere s'està diluint progressivament. L'estudi de la correspondència femenina, segons l'exposició de Sierra Blas, emergeix com a eina útil per repensar i aprofundir en les cultures i sociabilitats femenines al llarg de la història, constituint una font clau per a l'estudi de gènere. Així La correspondència femenina, citant les paraules de Darcie Doll, es presenta com "una pràctica femenina i feminista" i com "un territori excepcionalment favorable per ser apropiat des de la nostra marginalitat per fer front als discursos hegemònics".
