A. The marble grave stele of the Archaeological Collection of Kozani,index No 939, is an accidental finding and comes from the lignite mine atKardia-Ptolema'is. Its measurements are: remaining height 1 m, width 0,66m, depth ±0,15 m. It is ornamented relief in two parts. On the lower part isrepresented a male figure greeting a standing woman; to the right the smallerfigure of a slave serving. The representation known as «dexiossis» was verycommon throughout the antique world, and is interpretated as a farewell movement between two relatives or friends. On the upper part and to theright is represented a male riding figure, probably the same honoured deadas on the previous part, in a scene reflecting some capacity or activity of hisearthly life. The stele is influenced by the Attic classical style and can be da­ted to the late Hellenistic period.B. The relief marble stele of the Archaeological Collection of Aiani- Kozani, index No 266, is also an accidental finding and comes from the site Aghios Demetrius of the same community. Its measurements are: remaning height 0,53 m, width 0,39 m, depth 0,10 m. On the stele is represented a male rider moving peacefully to the right; below the horse a hunting dog and to the background a smaller male figure. This last one is interpretated as the figure of a slave-page. There is an attempt to indicate the difference between the illustrational rendering of this figure in reliefs of W. Macedonia and in those of other regions. Finally, the stele is considered a grave stele and is dated to the late 2nd-early 3rd C A.D. No abstract

Η παρούσα έρευνα-δράση στοχεύει στη μελέτη εφαρμογή της χρήσης των νέων τεχνολογιών και της εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης χρησιμοποιώντας τις ηλεκτρονικές πλατφόρμες Cisco Webex και e-Class αλλά και να αξιολογηθεί η αποτελεσματικότητα της μαθησιακής διαδικασίας. Η έρευνα-δράση είχε διάρκεια 1 μήνα και τα συμπεράσματα ήταν θετικά ως προς την εφαρμογή της στην προσχολική εξΑΕ με στόχο την ενθάρρυνση των μαθητών στη χρήση των νέων ψηφιακών τεχνολογιών σε συνδυασμό με τα συμβατά μέσα διδασκαλίας. Τα ευρήματα έδειξαν ότι για να είναι θετικά τα αποτελέσματα πρέπει οι γονείς αφενός να έχουν διάθεση να αναμειχθούν στην εκπαιδετική διαδικασία και αφετέρου να γνωρίζουν επαρκώς υπολογιστές. Προϋποτίθεται βεβαίως και η επαρκής κατάκτηση του εκπαιδευτικού στις νέες ψηφιακές τεχνολογίες αλλά και η επιλογή της σωστής παιδαγωγικής προσέγγισης μέσω κατάλληλων εκπαιδευτικών τεχνικών και υλικού. Τέλος, για την επιτυχή ολοκλήρωση των εκπαιδευτικών δράσεων είναι απαραίτητη η συνεργασία του εκπαιδευτικού με τους γονείς καθώς και η υποστήριξή τους.

Η μελέτη της ιστορικής αναπαράστασης στον κινηματογράφο απασχολεί έναν σημαντικό αριθμό ερευνητών τόσο από το πεδίο των ιστορικών σπουδών όσο και από τον χώρο της κινηματογραφικής θεωρίας. Παρά το γεγονός ότι ο αριθμός των ιστορικών ταινιών αυξάνεται διαρκώς, διευρύνοντας ταυτόχρονα και την επίδραση του κινηματογράφου στη διαμόρφωση της συλλογικής μνήμης, τα εργαλεία για την κατανόηση της οπτικοακουστικής ιστορίας παραμένουν περιορισμένα. Το κενό αυτό θα προσπαθήσω να καλύψω στο παρόν κείμενο συνοψίζοντας ένα μέρος της δικής μου πρότασης, όπως την παρουσίασα στο βιβλίο History and Film: A Tale of Two Disciplines (2018). Συγκεκριμένα, θα εστιάσω στον διακεκομμένο διάλογο ανάμεσα σε ιστορικούς και θεωρητικούς του κινηματογράφου, επισημαίνοντας τα κύρια ζητήματα που στάθηκαν εμπόδιο για την ουσιαστική σύγκλιση των δύο πεδίων. Στη συνέχεια θα επιχειρήσω την σύζευξή τους συνδυάζοντας την ποιητική της ιστορίας από το έργο του Hayden White με την ιστορική ποιητική του David Bordwell. The study of historical representation in the cinema has engaged a significant number of researchers both in the field of historical studies and that of film theory. Although the number of historical films is constantly increasing, while also expanding the influence of cinema on the formation of collective memory, the tools for understanding audiovisual history remain limited. In this essay, I will try to fill this gap by summarizing a part of my own thesis, as I presented it in the book History and Film: A Tale of Two Disciplines (2018). In particular, I will focus on the intermittent dialogue between historians and film theorists, highlighting the main issues that stood in the way of the substantial convergence of the two fields. Next, I will attempt to pair them, combining the poetics of history from Hayden White’s work with the historical poetics of David Bordwell.

The church of St Nicholas at Maritsa (1434/5) preserves one of the most characteristic painted ensembles of Hospitaller rule on Rhodes. The abbreviated iconographic program, with the representation of popular regional saints, as well as hierarchs, and reference to the painter Alexios in the dedicatory inscription, whose paintbrush can be recognized in part of the decoration of St Anastasia in the village of Monolithos on Rhodes, provide additional information regarding artistic production on Rhodes in the 15th century. Ο ναός του Αγίου Νικολάου στα Μαριτσά (1434/5) σώζει ένα από τα πλέον ενδεικτικά τοιχογραφικά σύνολα της Ιπποτοκρατίας στη Ρόδο. Το συνεπτυγμένο εικονογραφικό πρόγραμμα, με την απεικόνιση δημοφιλών αγίων της περιοχής και ιεραρχών και η μνεία στην κτητορική επιγραφή του ζωγράφου Αλεξίου, ο χρωστήρας του οποίου μπορεί να αναγνωρισθεί σε μέρος του διακόσμου της Αγίας Αναστασίας στο χωριό Μονόλιθος της Ρόδου, προσθέτουν νέα στοιχεία σχετικά με την καλλιτεχνική δημιουργία στη Ρόδο του 15ου αιώνα.

This paper presents and discusses certain documents from the Consulate General in Philippoupolis relating to the history of the Wartelle Codex (1664), from its discovery to its acquisition by the Prussian National Library in Berlin. This codex (now considered lost), which contained the works “On the Hea­ vens”, “On Generation and Corruption” and “On the Soul”, was found in the library of a local resident, Ioannis Siagounis, by Thessalonian philologist Petros Papageorgiou (1859-1914), then on the staff of the Zaripheion Dida- skaleion (Normal School). Papageorgiou, as it now appears, initially advised him to sell the codex to Prussia, although following the intervention of the Head of the Normal School, Georgios Konstantinidis, and the Greek Consul, Alexandras Logothetis, he was persuaded to press Siagounis to offer it to the (Greek) National Library instead. Negotiations foundered, however, when Siagounis refused to allow the Library to examine the codex. One odd feature of the whole affair is the fact that Konstantinidis published his own articles about the codex, although Papageorgiou lacked neither palaeographic skills nor publishing experience. The correspondence suggests that this was an arbitrary move on Konstantinidis’ part, made with the backing of the Consul and intended to convince the authorities in Athens of the value of the codex and thus persuade them to purchase it. This action, however, and the fact that in his initial correspondence with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Consul had down-graded his role and his rights of publication, was denounced by Papageorgiou in a letter of protest to the then Foreign Minister (and later personal friend), Western Macedonian native Stefanos Dragoumis.  No abstract

The paper aims at reconstructing the concept of epistemic communities as such. Thus, in the process of explicating the methodological profile as well as the validity claims posed by this concept, our study does not take into account its specific context; namely, its various uses within the field of international relations. Instead, our attention is focused upon the particular notion of policy- making process implied by the adoption of the concept of epistemic communities. A closer examination of this notion suggests that the concept of epistemic communities, if taken seriously, must be understood primarily as an empirically-oriented one, accompanied by a set of methodological rules.
