Etablierte, einfache Berechnungsverfahren sind in Softwaretools umgesetzt, bilden aber die Wirkung von Einzelhindernissen im Ausbreitungsgebiet nicht adäquat ab. Immissionsprognosen wurden im Sinne konservativer Abschätzungen mit Sicherheitsaufschlägen versehen, die u.a. zu Problemen in Genehmigungsverfahren führen. Eine Verbesserung der Prognosegüte wird durch die in aktualisierten VDI-Richtlinien vorgesehene Verwendung komplexerer Modelle möglich. Im Rahmen des Forschungsprojektes sind Geschwindigkeits- und Konzentrationsfelder für verschiedene Ausbreitungssituationen in praxisrelevanten Ausbreitungsgebieten (Gewerbegebiet, Industriegebiet) im Windkanal vermessen worden. Hierbei wurde die Ausbreitung dichteneutraler und schwerer Gase für zwei Grenzschichtströmungen untersucht. Diese experimentellen Untersuchungen waren Grundlage für die Entwicklung und Validierung spezieller Softwarebausteine für die Simulation der Gefahrstoffausbreitung im Nahfeld komplexer Industrieanlagen im OpenSource-Framework OpenFOAM. Es wurden unterschiedlich komplexe Programme (LES, RANS) entwickelt und hinsichtlich Simulationsgüte und Rechenaufwand mit den experimentellen Daten und einem etablierten Lagrange´schen Ausbreitungsmodell vergleichen. Für die praktische Anwendung in KMU´s ist die Benutzeroberfläche OFWind entwickelt worden, mit der Geschwindigkeitsfelder für komplexe Bebauungssituationen auf der Basis des lizenzkostenfreien OpenSource-Frameworks OpenFOAM berechnet werden können. Zusammen mit dem frei verfügbaren Lagrange´schen Ausbreitungsmodell AUSTAL können damit Auswirkungsbetrachtungen durchgeführt werden.

Etablierte, einfache Berechnungsverfahren sind in Softwaretools umgesetzt, bilden aber die Wirkung von Einzelhindernissen im Ausbreitungsgebiet nicht adäquat ab. Immissionsprognosen wurden im Sinne konservativer Abschätzungen mit Sicherheitsaufschlägen versehen, die u.a. zu Problemen in Genehmigungsverfahren führen. Eine Verbesserung der Prognosegüte wird durch die in aktualisierten VDI-Richtlinien vorgesehene Verwendung komplexerer Modelle möglich. Im Rahmen des Forschungsprojektes sind Geschwindigkeits- und Konzentrationsfelder für verschiedene Ausbreitungssituationen in praxisrelevanten Ausbreitungsgebieten (Gewerbegebiet, Industriegebiet) im Windkanal vermessen worden. Hierbei wurde die Ausbreitung dichteneutraler und schwerer Gase für zwei Grenzschichtströmungen untersucht. Diese experimentellen Untersuchungen waren Grundlage für die Entwicklung und Validierung spezieller Softwarebausteine für die Simulation der Gefahrstoffausbreitung im Nahfeld komplexer Industrieanlagen im OpenSource-Framework OpenFOAM. Es wurden unterschiedlich komplexe Programme (LES, RANS) entwickelt und hinsichtlich Simulationsgüte und Rechenaufwand mit den experimentellen Daten und einem etablierten Lagrange´schen Ausbreitungsmodell vergleichen. Für die praktische Anwendung in KMU´s ist die Benutzeroberfläche OFWind entwickelt worden, mit der Geschwindigkeitsfelder für komplexe Bebauungssituationen auf der Basis des lizenzkostenfreien OpenSource-Frameworks OpenFOAM berechnet werden können. Zusammen mit dem frei verfügbaren Lagrange´schen Ausbreitungsmodell AUSTAL können damit Auswirkungsbetrachtungen durchgeführt werden.
