    Authors: Budd, Michael Anton;

    This article considers the emergence of Charles George Gordon (1833–1885) as new type of Christian technological hero in the context of Victorian representations and discussions concerning war. Gordon’s example demonstrates the role of technology in relation to the heroic in three ways: by the atavistic desire for the pure categories of the past, which seemed to have been swept aside by capital and new industry; by virtue of the role of print, image and communication technologies to spread the knowledge of the new hero’s exploits, and by the fact that the hero, in military and other contexts, was increasingly a technologist. My aim is to investigate Gordon’s own ambivalence about the technological militarized society he came to represent in the context of the crisis narratives proceeding from the Crimea and the Sepoy Mutiny to the debacle at Khartoum and its aftermath.

  • Authors: Pioletti, Anna Maria; Tommaso, Daniele, Di; Meynet, Elena; Florio, Paola;

    The volume collects the theoretical-methodological interventions and the applied activities carriedout by teachers of various levels, which are the result of the refresher course organized by theItalian Association of Geography Teachers, regional section of the Aosta Valley, in collaborationwith the Department of Education, University, Research and Youth Policies of the RegionAutonomous of the Aosta Valley.The text consists of interventions proposed by university researchers supported by didacticexperiences carried out in the Aosta Valley school, in line with articles 39 and 40 of the SpecialStatute of the Region Autonomous Aosta Valley, for which the same number of hours must bededicated to the teaching of the French language and the Italian language and the teaching ofsomedisciplines can be done in the language French, for allowing students to gain a better commandof that language.Alongside face-to-face teaching, the experience of distance teaching has provided opportunities andideas for a reasoned and guided construction of knowledge based on the interaction betweenteachers and pupils.The volume intends to give a contribution and a didactic support that provides elements forreflection for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teaching, applicable also with disabledstudents.The editors of the volume are: Anna Maria Pioletti, Associate Professor of Economic and PoliticalGeography at the University of Aosta Valley, Daniele Di Tommaso, PhD in Geopolitics andGeoeconomics, Teacher of Literature, history and geography in the Literary, artistic and musicalHigh school, President of AIIG Valle d'Aosta, and Elena Meynet, Teacher of literature, history andgeography in lower secondary school and Journalist. L'ouvrage rassemble les interventions d'étude théorique et méthodologique et les activités d'application réalisées par des enseignants de différents niveaux, le résultat du cours de remise à niveau et de formation organisé par l'A.I.I.G. Val d'Aoste, en collaboration avec l'Assessorat de l'Éducation, de l'Université, de la Recherche et des Politiques de la jeunesse - Département des politiques d'éducation, d'université, de recherche et de jeunesse de la Région autonome du Val d'Aoste, intitulé La Géographie pour concevoir : propositions de laboratoires interdisciplinaires pour lire le monde.Le texte se compose donc d'interventions proposées par des chercheurs universitaires appuyées sut des expériences didactiques menées à l'école valdôtaine, conformément aux articles 39 et 40 du Statut particulier de la Région autonome valdôtaine, pour lesquels l'enseignement de la langue française doit se voir consacrer les mêmes heures d'enseignement de la langue italienne, et l'enseignement de certaines disciplines peut être réalisé en français, permettant aux étudiants d'acquérir une meilleure maîtrise de cette langue.Parallèlement à l'enseignement en présence, l'expérience de l'enseignement à distance a fourni des opportunités et des idées pour une construction raisonnée et guidée des connaissances basée sur l'interaction entre les enseignants et les élèves et les étudiants. De ce point de vue, le volume entend apporter une contribution et un support didactique qui fournit des éléments de réflexion pour un enseignement interdisciplinaire et multidisciplinaire applicable également dans des situations où il y a des élèves handicapés. Il volume raccoglie gli interventi di approfondimento teorico-metodologico e le attività applicative realizzate dai docenti di vario grado, risultato del corso di aggiornamento e formazione organizzato dall’A.I.I.G. Valle d’Aosta, in collaborazione con l’Assessorat de l’Éducation, de l’Université, de la Recherche et des Politiques de la jeunesse - Assessorato all’Istruzione, Università, Ricerca e Politiche giovanili della Regione Autonoma Valle d’Aosta, dal titolo La geografia per progettare: proposte laboratoriali interdisciplinari per leggere il mondo.Il testo si compone dunque di interventi proposti da ricercatori universitari affiancati da esperienze didattiche operate nella scuola valdostana in linea con gli articoli 39 e 40 dello Statuto speciale della Regione Autonoma Valle d’Aosta, per i quali all’insegnamento della lingua francese devono essere dedicate le stesse ore di insegnamento della lingua italiana e l’insegnamento di alcune discipline può essere svolto in lingua francese, permettendo agli studenti di acquisire una migliore padronanza di tale lingua.Accanto alla didattica in presenza, l’esperienza della didattica a distanza ha fornito opportunità e spunti per una costruzione ragionata e guidata del sapere basata sull’interazione tra docenti e alunni e studenti. In tale ottica il volume intende fornire un contributo e un supporto didattico che fornisce elementi di riflessione per una didattica interdisciplinare e multidisciplinare applicabile anche in situazioni in cui sono presenti alunni diversamente abili.     Authors: Huseynova, Reyhan;

    Ekstrasellüler matriks immün inflamasyon aracılı oluşan patogenezi tam olarak anlaşılmış ancak rejenerasyon etkisi birçok dokuda örneklenmemiş durumdur. İnflamasyon sebebiyle ekstraselüler matriks proteazlarına maruz kalan dokularda immün hasarlanma oluşur ve hücresel aracılı sıvılarda artış gözlenir. Bu durumda bu hasarlanma sonucu dokularda şişlik kızarıklık ve ısı artışı oluşur ki bu da ağrı ve haraket kısıtlılığına sebep olur. Bundan dolayı bu tip patogenezlerde kök hücrelerin moleküler değişimi ve bu hasarlanmanın hücresel rejenerasyonu literatürde aktüel olarak tartışılmaktadır. Kök hücrelerin hasarlı dokudan göç sebebiyle hasarın yaşandığı ekstrasellüler matrixe göç etmesi ve bunun sonucu bazı doku onarım mekanizmalarının aksamaya uğraması dokudaki yıkımı hızlandırmaktadır. Kök hücrelerin rejenerasyon yapabilmek için mikro çevre nişlerine ihtiyacı vardır.Rejenerasyon mekanizmaları üzerine yapılmış birçok araştırmada kök hücrelerde işleyen yolaklar iyi anlaşılmıştır. Tezimde bu yolaklar üzerinde görev alan JUNB, MEPE, MMP13, MMP2 proteinlerine yoğunlaştım. Bu genlerin kodladığı proteinler kök hücrelerin yeniden modellenmesi, asimetrik bölünmesi, doku onarımı gibi önemli işlevlerde görev alırlar. Tezimde dokuda gerçekleşen inflamasyonun doku rejenerasyon mekanizmalarına olan etkisi kök hücre migrasyonunda işlev kaybettiği savunuldu. Dokuyu rejenere etme kabiliyetlerinin kaybetmelerinin sebebi olarak mikro çevre nişlerinin bozulması ve tutunma yetilerinin azalması olduğu düşünüldü. The pathogenesis caused by the extracellular matrix immunoinflammation is fully understood, but the regeneration effect is not sampled in many tissues. Immunological damage occurs in tissues exposed to extracellular matrix proteases due to inflammation and increases in cellular mediators. In this case, the swelling redness and temperature increase occur in these damaged tissues, which causes pain and movement restriction. Hence, molecular alteration of stem cells in such pathogenesis and cellular regeneration of these damages are currently discussed in the literature. Migration of the stem cells to the extracellular matrix where the damage is experienced due to migration from the damaged tissue, which results in the acceleration of the destruction of the tissue due to the occlusion of some tissue repair mechanisms. Stem cells require microenvironmental niches to regenerate.In many studies on regeneration mechanisms, the pathways that work in stem cells are well understood. I concentrated on the JUNB, MEPE, MMP13, MMP2 proteins involved in these pathways. The proteins encoded by these genes function in important functions such as stem cell remodeling, asymmetric cleavage, tissue repair.It has been argued that the effect of tissue inflammation on tissues in tissue has lost its role in stem cell migration. The loss of their ability to regenerate the tissue was thought to be due to the degradation of microenvironmental niches and the decrease in their ability to hold 82

    Background: Preserving and maintaining the continuity of tuberculosis (TB) essential services, expediting the surveillance of populations who are vulnerable to the disease, and carrying out high-quality epidemiologic research are required and very essential for reducing the TB burden in this era of COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, this study aimed toward assessing the effect of COVID-19 on the management of TB at a rural hospital setting of India. Methods: A retrospective observational cohort study is undertaken at a tertiary care hospital setting of India. The data from the TB center of a tertiary care hospital were gathered, where two cohorts are made based on a time frame, and the patients were evaluated over that selected time frame. Results: A total of 472 patients presented to the TB care clinic during the 2019 study period (Cohort A), whereas only 78 patients presented to the clinic in the 2020 study period. The diagnosis of TB was made based on the sputum examination and chest X-ray, where 104/472 (22%) were positive to TB in Cohort A and 42/78 (54%) were TB positive in Cohort B. Discussion: The fraction of TB patients who were obscured from the follow-up was prominently higher during the 2020 period when related to that of 2019 (17% vs. 9.6%; P = 0.01). There were 7 deaths that occurred during 2020 (17%), compared to only 3 deaths (2.8%) in the 2019 period (P = 0.04). Conclusion: Strengthening the governmental policies toward rapid adoption of TB control measures in times of newer challenges like COVID-19 must be an immediate priority in mitigating the disease burden.

    Based on the dynamic load-line GaN HEMT large signal model and load-pull technology, a high efficiency harmonic tuned power amplifier operating at 2 GHz is designed and implemented. Under the condition that the parasitic parameters and package parameters of the transistor are unknown, the optimal fundamental and harmonic impedance values that meet the performance requirements are initially determined by the load-pull technology, and tuning and optimizing the overall circuit of the power amplifier based on the drain current and voltage waveforms obtained from the dynamic load-line large signal model. The measured results show that, when the input power is 27 dBm, the drain efficiency reaches 81.53%, the power added efficiency is 76%, the output power is 38.69 dBm, and the gain is 11.69 dB. The high-efficiency harmonic tuned power designed by this method has the advantages of simple structure and convenient tuning, while satisfying high performance.

    Authors: Budd, Michael Anton;

    The volume collects the theoretical-methodological interventions and the applied activities carriedout by teachers of various levels, which are the result of the refresher course organized by theItalian Association of Geography Teachers, regional section of the Aosta Valley, in collaborationwith the Department of Education, University, Research and Youth Policies of the RegionAutonomous of the Aosta Valley.The text consists of interventions proposed by university researchers supported by didacticexperiences carried out in the Aosta Valley school, in line with articles 39 and 40 of the SpecialStatute of the Region Autonomous Aosta Valley, for which the same number of hours must bededicated to the teaching of the French language and the Italian language and the teaching ofsomedisciplines can be done in the language French, for allowing students to gain a better commandof that language.Alongside face-to-face teaching, the experience of distance teaching has provided opportunities andideas for a reasoned and guided construction of knowledge based on the interaction betweenteachers and pupils.The volume intends to give a contribution and a didactic support that provides elements forreflection for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teaching, applicable also with disabledstudents.The editors of the volume are: Anna Maria Pioletti, Associate Professor of Economic and PoliticalGeography at the University of Aosta Valley, Daniele Di Tommaso, PhD in Geopolitics andGeoeconomics, Teacher of Literature, history and geography in the Literary, artistic and musicalHigh school, President of AIIG Valle d'Aosta, and Elena Meynet, Teacher of literature, history andgeography in lower secondary school and Journalist. L'ouvrage rassemble les interventions d'étude théorique et méthodologique et les activités d'application réalisées par des enseignants de différents niveaux, le résultat du cours de remise à niveau et de formation organisé par l'A.I.I.G. Val d'Aoste, en collaboration avec l'Assessorat de l'Éducation, de l'Université, de la Recherche et des Politiques de la jeunesse - Département des politiques d'éducation, d'université, de recherche et de jeunesse de la Région autonome du Val d'Aoste, intitulé La Géographie pour concevoir : propositions de laboratoires interdisciplinaires pour lire le monde.Le texte se compose donc d'interventions proposées par des chercheurs universitaires appuyées sut des expériences didactiques menées à l'école valdôtaine, conformément aux articles 39 et 40 du Statut particulier de la Région autonome valdôtaine, pour lesquels l'enseignement de la langue française doit se voir consacrer les mêmes heures d'enseignement de la langue italienne, et l'enseignement de certaines disciplines peut être réalisé en français, permettant aux étudiants d'acquérir une meilleure maîtrise de cette langue.Parallèlement à l'enseignement en présence, l'expérience de l'enseignement à distance a fourni des opportunités et des idées pour une construction raisonnée et guidée des connaissances basée sur l'interaction entre les enseignants et les élèves et les étudiants. De ce point de vue, le volume entend apporter une contribution et un support didactique qui fournit des éléments de réflexion pour un enseignement interdisciplinaire et multidisciplinaire applicable également dans des situations où il y a des élèves handicapés. Il volume raccoglie gli interventi di approfondimento teorico-metodologico e le attività applicative realizzate dai docenti di vario grado, risultato del corso di aggiornamento e formazione organizzato dall’A.I.I.G. Valle d’Aosta, in collaborazione con l’Assessorat de l’Éducation, de l’Université, de la Recherche et des Politiques de la jeunesse - Assessorato all’Istruzione, Università, Ricerca e Politiche giovanili della Regione Autonoma Valle d’Aosta, dal titolo La geografia per progettare: proposte laboratoriali interdisciplinari per leggere il mondo.Il testo si compone dunque di interventi proposti da ricercatori universitari affiancati da esperienze didattiche operate nella scuola valdostana in linea con gli articoli 39 e 40 dello Statuto speciale della Regione Autonoma Valle d’Aosta, per i quali all’insegnamento della lingua francese devono essere dedicate le stesse ore di insegnamento della lingua italiana e l’insegnamento di alcune discipline può essere svolto in lingua francese, permettendo agli studenti di acquisire una migliore padronanza di tale lingua.Accanto alla didattica in presenza, l’esperienza della didattica a distanza ha fornito opportunità e spunti per una costruzione ragionata e guidata del sapere basata sull’interazione tra docenti e alunni e studenti. In tale ottica il volume intende fornire un contributo e un supporto didattico che fornisce elementi di riflessione per una didattica interdisciplinare e multidisciplinare applicabile anche in situazioni in cui sono presenti alunni diversamente abili.     Authors: Huseynova, Reyhan;
