    1998–2003 m. Lietuvos sodininkystės ir daržininkystės institute tirta penkių veislių tipų: Egipto plokštieji, Crosby, Bordo, Detroit, Cylindra bei įvairių veislių grupių (ankstyvųjų ir vidutinio ankstyvumo, viena-dvisėklių ir daugiasėklių) raudonųjų burokėlių biocheminė sudėtis. Nustatytas ir vertintas tirpių sausųjų medžiagų, cukrų (invertuoto cukraus ir sacharozės), askorbo rūgšties, betaninų ir nitratų kiekis. Šešerių metų tyrimo duomenys rodo, kad daugiausia (14,7 %) tirpių sausųjų medžiagų susikaupia Bordo tipo burokėliuose. Kitų veislių tipų burokėliuose tirpios sausosios medžiagos sudaro 13,50–12,70 % ir iš esmės nesiskiria. Daugiausiai cukrų (9,71 %) susikaupia Bordo tipo burokėliuose, tačiau iš esmės šis rodiklis skiriasi tik nuo Cylindra ir Detroit (hibridai) tipo veislių. Askorbo rūgšties rasta 18,15–15,82 mg 100 g-1. Šio rodiklio esminių skirtumų tarp veislių tipų nėra. Betanino kiekio esminis skirtumas nustatytas tik tarp Bordo (80,98 mg 100 g-1) ir Egipto plokštieji (59,65 mg 100 g-1) tipo veislių burokėlių. Skirtingų metų augimo sąlygos turi įtakos biocheminių medžiagų kaupimuisi šakniavaisiuose. Stabilesnis tirpių sausųjų medžiagų ir cukrų kiekis yra Detroit tipo hibridiniuose burokėliuose. Ilgesnės vegetacijos, t. y. vidutinio ankstyvumo, burokėliuose pastebėta tendencija kauptis daugiau biocheminių medžiagų ir mažiau nitratų. Tirtų veislių daugiasėkliuose burokėliuose susikaupia daugiau tirpių sausųjų medžiagų, cukrų ir betaninų negu viena-dvisėkliuose. During 1998–2003 the biochemical content of 5 sortotypes (Egypt flat, Crosby, Bordo, Detroit – varieties, Detroit – hybrids and Cylindra) and various groups (early, medium early, moonseeds and polyseeds) of seed beet was tested in Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture. The content of soluble dry substances, total sugar, betanin and nitrates were investigated. According to the data of a six-year investigations, red beet cultivar Bordo accumulated the largest amount (14.7 %) of soluble solids substances. The other red beet cultivars accumulated 13.50–12.70 % of soluble dry matters and hardly made no basic difference among each other. Red beet cultivar Bordo accumulated the largest amounts of sugars (9.71 %). This quantity significantly differs from Cylindra and Detroit type hybrids and cultivars. Amounts of ascorbic acid varied within the limits of 18.15–15.82 mg 100 g-1, but no significant differences among the cultivars were determined. Significantly different amount of betanin was observed only among the Bordo (80.98 mg 100 g-1) and Egypet flat (59.65 mg 100 g-1) type cultivars. Growing conditions influence the accumulation of biochemical organic materials in red beet. More stabile amount of soluble dry matters and sugars was observed in Detroit type hybrids. [to full text] В 1998–2003 гг. в Литовском институте садоводства и овощеводства изучался биохимический состав столовой свеклы 5 сортотипов (Египeтская плоская, Кросби, Бoрдo, Детройт – сорта, Детройт – гибриды и Цилиндра) и разных групп сортов (ранних и среднеранних, односемянных и многосемянных). Изучено и оценено количество растворимых сухих веществ, сахаров (инвертированного сахара и сахарозы), аскорбиновой кислоты, бетанинов и нитратов. По итогам шестилетних исследований наибольшее количество растворимых сухих веществ (14,7 %) содержит столовая свекла сортотипа Бордо. Количест-во растворимых сухих веществ в свекле других сортотипов изменялось несущественно и составило 12,70–13,50 %. Наибольшее количество сахаров (9,71 %) найдено также в свекле сортотипа Бордо, но существенно этот показатель отличался только от сортотипов Цилиндра и Детройт. По содержанию аскорбиновой кислоты (18,15–15,82 мг 100 г-1) существенных различий между сортами не установлено. По содержанию бетанина существенная разница установлена только между сортотипами Бордо (80,98 мг 100 г-1) и Египетская плоская (59,65 мг 100 г-1). Содержание биохимических веществ в корнеплодах зависит от условий роста. Более стабильными в этом отношении во все годы исследований были гибриды типа Детройт.     Aptariama Lietuvos Mokslų Akademijos akademiko Leonardo Saukos folkloristikos koncepcija, plėtojimosi kryptys ir pasiekimai. Pirmojo veiklos tarpsnio moksliniai interesai apibendrinti 1958-1960 m. parašytoje (paskelbta 1968 m.) studijoje „Lietuvių vestuvinės dainos (XIX a. - XX a. pradžia)“. Remiantis įtaigia poetiškumo atodangų analize, daroma išvada, jog lietuvių vestuvinės dainos pagrįstai laikomos viena iš aukščiausių lietuvių tautos kūrybingumo apraiškų. Antrojo L. Saukos mokslinės veiklos tarpsnio viršūnė – fundamentali monografija „Lietuvių liaudies dainų eilėdara“(1978) ir įvedanti į ją studija „Lietuvių folkloro eilėtyros istorijos ir teorijos klausimai“(1974). Šiuose veikaluose aptarti pagrindiniai lietuvių dainų eilėdaros ir ją determinuojančių veiksnių – melodijos ir sintaksinės intonacinės kalbos sandaros – parametrai, ištirta daugiau kaip 120000 dainų tekstų, per 2000 melodijų. Kita fundamentali L. Saukos mokslinės veiklos kryptis šiuo laikotarpiu – daugiatomio kritinio leidinio „Lietuvių liaudies dainynas“ rengimas ir leidyba. Trečiuoju mokslinės veiklos tarpsniu L. Sauka parašė folkloristikos tyrimų patirtį apibendrinantį vadovėlį „Lietuvių tautosaka“(1989; 1998), tęsė lituanistinės folkloristikos šaltinių kritinį publikavimą („Jono Basanavičiaus tautosakos biblioteka“, 15 t., 1993-2004). L. Sauka yra istorinės kultūrinės folkloristikos mokyklos, kuriai Lietuvoje atstovauja J. Basanavičius, M. Biržiška, J. Baldauskas-Baldžius, Z. Slaviūnas, Ambr. Jonynas, tradicijų tęsėjas. It contains the discussion of folklore studies concept formulated by the academic of the Academy of Sciences Leonardas Sauka, its development trends and achievements. Scientific interest of the first activity period are summarised in the study Lithuanian Connubial Songs written in 1958-1960 (publicised in 1968) (19th century - beginning of the 20th century). Based on the suggestive analysis of poetry exposures, the conclusion is made that Lithuanian wedding songs are deservedly considered some of the highest creative artworks of the Lithuanian nation. The climax of the second period of the scientific activity of L. Sauka was his fundamental study Versification of Lithuanian Folksongs (1978), and its introductory study Historical and theoretical issues of the Lithuanian folklore poetry analysis (1974). This work discusses the basic parameters of poetry of the Lithuanian folksongs, and their determining factors – melody, and the structure of intonational language syntax; it contains the analysis of over 120000 song texts, and over 2000 melodies. Another fundamental field of scientific activity of L. Sauka currently is the preparation and publication of the critical edition of Lithuanian Folk Song Book in many volumes. During the third period of scientific activity, L. Sauka wrote a textbook summarising the experience of folklore studies research Lithuanian Folklore (1989; 1998), continued critical publications of Lithuanistic folklore studies sources. L. Sauka continues the traditions of the historical-cultural school of folklore studies represented in Lithuania by J. Basanavičius, M. Biržiška, J. Baldauskas-Baldžius, Z. Slaviūnas, Ambr. Jonynas.

    Bažnytinę (arba liturginę) kūrybą lemia daug veiksnių. Jai turi įtakos ir kūrėjų krikščioniškoji savivoka, jų atsivėrimo Dievui patirtis, ir istoriniai bei socialiniai procesai. Menininko misija – ugdyti visuomenę, vaduojant ją iš rutinos, ir padaryti dvasinę tikrovę kiek įmanoma labiau apčiuopiamą ir patrauklią – kūryboje realizuojama renkantis tam tikrą muzikos kalbą. Šiuolaikinė bažnytinė kompozitorių Kristinos Vasiliauskaitės, Vidmanto Bartulio, Algirdo Martinaičio ir kitų kūryba straipsnyje tyrinėjama melodikos, ritmikos, tonalumo, kompozicijos sudėtingumo ir originalumo (naujumo) aspektais, atsižvelgiant į Vakarų Europos bažnytinės muzikos istorijoje susiformavusią sakralumo sampratą ir į atnaujintos liturgijos keliamus reikalavimus. Tradicija grindžiama bažnytinė muzika laikytina visateise šiuolaikinės meno kūrybos dalimi, kuriai nedera taikyti avangardo estetikos principų. Church work is determined by a number of factors. It is influenced by the Christian self-perception of artists, their experience of opening to God as well as historical and social processes. The mission of an artist – to educate the society by liberating it from routine and to make the spiritual reality palpable and attractive as more as possible – is implemented in creative works by choosing a certain language of music. In this article contemporary church compositions by Kristina Vasiliauskaitė, Vidmantas Bartulis and Algirdas Martinaitis are explored from the aspects of melodics, rhythmics, tonality, complicacy and originality (novelty) of compositions with reference to the concept of sacrality, as developed in the history of church music of Western Europe, and the requirements raised by renewed liturgy. Tradition-based church music is to be considered a full-fledged part of contemporary arts whereto a dimension of vanguard aesthetics should not apply.

    Mokytojo profesija nuolat susiduria su iššūkiu įrodyti įvairių mokymo ir mokymosi metodų taikymo efektyvumą. Mokytojų rengimo sistemos Švedijoje šiuo metu reformuojamos, todėl švietimo įstaigoms itin svarbu žinoti, kaip studijuoja mokytojo specialybės studentai. Taip pat svarbu, kad ir patys būsimieji mokytojai gerai pažintų savo studijavimo stilius. Šio tyrimo tikslas – remiantis tarptautiniais studijavimo stilių tyrimais, nustatyti studijavimo stilių skirtumus tarp dviejų pagrindinių mokyklų būsimųjų mokytojų grupių: muzikos mokytojų ir kitų mokomųjų dalykų mokytojų. Skirtumai, pastebėti tarp šių būsimųjų mokytojų grupių, galėtų turėti įtakos ir aukštajam mokslui, studijavimo strategijoms bei mokytojų naudojamoms mokymo strategijoms. Tyrimui atsitiktinai parinkti 65 mokytojo specialybės studentai – 33 įvairių mokomųjų dalykų būsimieji mokytojai ir 32 būsimieji muzikos mokytojai. Siekiant nustatyti studijavimo stilius, vyraujančius tarp tyrimo dalyvių, naudotos 20 produktyvumo dominuojančioje aplinkoje tyrimo (angl. Productivity Environmental Preference Survey – PEPS) poskalių (Dunn, Dunn & Price, 1984, 1991, 2000; 1 priedas). Tyrimo rezultatai padėjo atskleisti statistiškai ryškių skirtumų tarp dviejų tirtų mokytojo specialybės studentų grupių. Remiantis šiais rezultatais galima teigti: muzikos mokytojo specialybės studentai ir kitų mokomųjų dalykų mokytojo specialybės studentai studijuodami renkasi skirtingą aplinką ir skirtingai vertina nusistovėjusią tvarką, mėgsta... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] The teaching profession has been continually challenged to provide evidence of the effectiveness of teaching and learning methods. The teacher education systems are currently undergoing reforms in Sweden. Hence, it is importance for educational institutions to be aware of the different ways that their student teachers learn and it is importance for prospective teachers to become aware of their own learning styles. The purpose of this research was to explore the learning styles preferences for two groups of prospective teachers: music teachers and regular compulsory classroom teachers and to analyze their differences in the light of international research on learning styles. If these groups of prospective teachers differ, this would have an impact on higher education, students’ learning strategies and teachers’ teaching strategies. The study involved 65 randomly selected student teachers. 33 were student teachers for compulsory school and 32 were music student teachers. Twenty subscales of the Productivity Environmental Preference Survey (PEPS) (Dunn, Dunn & Price, 1984, 1991, 2000; Annex 1) were used to identify the learning-styles preferences of the participants. Vakarų mąstytoju, muzikologu ir sociologu Theodoru Adorno, bus bandoma parodyti, kad menui yra galima tiek viena, tiek kita perspektyva, todėl priimti kurią nors vieną poziciją būtų gana problemiška. The article gets deeper into relation between art and sociality discussed by T. Adorno, the 20th century Western thinker. Thinking about the concept of art in the context of contemporary thought it is customary to associate art with individuality, freedom, authenticity and creativity. However, T. Adorno, exploring Western art from historical‑sociological perspective on the one hand noted that art is an integral part of sociality, on the other hand it is characterized by the coherence not only with freedom but also with violence. So first of all relation between art and violence is analyzed and features specific to this scenario are identified. Then there is a transfer to the relationship between concepts of art and freedom as well as to the analysis of specificity coherent to this outlook.

    Akmuo yra vienas iš daiktų Rainerio Marios Rilke’s žmogaus pasaulyje, kuris pasižymi išskirtiniu simboliniu daiktiškumu, šio fenomeno meditacija, persmelkta kūrybinių „aš“ galių. Kaip egzistencinė būties dalis ir šventuma, daiktai pripažįstami ir šlovinami giesmės intonacijomis. Daiktų ir žmogaus santykis iškyla kaip laikiškai štai-būčiai ir metafizinei paslapčiai atsiverianti tikrovė. IX Rilke’s Duino elegijoje žmogaus būtis suvokiama kaip prasmė pavadinti daiktus: „Esam čia gal tik tam, kad ištartu­me: namas, / tiltas, šulinys, vartai, ąsotis, vaismedis, langas, – / kilniau: kolona, bokštas...“ (R i lk e 1996, 299). Per šiuos ir kitus daiktus jutimiškai patiriamas pasaulis yra galimybė autentiškam santykiui su būtimi, sakralumo ištikčiai. Kita vertus, ir patys daiktai yra savaiminė vertybė, prie kurios priartėti žmogui leidžia ypatinga kalbos patirtis. Apie daiktiškojo Rilke’s pasaulio simboliškumą kalbėjo ne vienas poeto kritikas. Iš daugiaprasmės poeto simbolikos šioje publikacijoje linkstama į teopoetinį krikščioniškojo pasaulio reikšmių lauką . Tai lemia aptariami tekstai – eilėraščiai iš Valandų knygos (Das Stundenbuch). Šioje pranciškoniškosios, subjektyviai krikščioniškosios (žmogiškąjį ir daiktiškąjį subjektyvumą suabsoliutinančios) dvasios knygoje akmens ir akmeniškumo yra gausu. [toliau žr. visą tekstą] Stone is one of the things in the world of Rilke’s man. The aim of the present publication is to comment on several poems from “The Book of Hours” presenting new translations into the Lithuanian language. For the comments we have chosen the poetical semantic field of the Christian world from polysemous poet’s symbolism. It is conditioned by the collection itself. In the poems “Jetzt reifen schon die roten Berberitze” and “Da trat ich als ein Pilger ein” stone becomes the metaphor of God. In the poem “Wenn etwas mir vom Fenster fällt” stone allows the verification of the world order and the assurance in its existence and meaning. The poems “Sie sind es nicht“ and “Du bist der Arme, du der Mittellose” are related by the symbolism of stone expressing divine poverty. In the poem “Du bist das Kloster zu den Wundenmalen” stone speaks about the polysemy of a cloister. The stone world of a cloister as God’s house symbolizes the nature of the relation between human and God. In this and other texts, stone and language appear as the ways to get closer to the essence, the possibility to listen to and hear. In the poem “Und seine Sorgfalt ist uns wie ein Alb” stone and silence point to the divine incognizability. In the poem “Mach mich zum Wächter deiner Weiten” stone is not only a part of the building but a spot of silence that allows hearing. Quite a few poems of “The Book of Hours” have the spirit of pilgrimage.

    Šio tyrimo tikslas – išsiaiškinti, kaip darbuotojai vertina gandus organizacijoje. Sąvokos gandas apibrėžimuose akcentuojami skirtingi dalykai. Tai lemia mokslo sričių atstovų pozicija. Sociologijos požiūriu, pabrėžtini šie visuomenei svarbūs gandų funkcionavimo elementai: gando subjektai, socialinė aplinka, kurioje tie gandai plinta, gandų tipai ir įvairių socialinių grupių imlumas jiems, pagaliau – socialinės kontrolės galimybės. Svarbu nustatyti ir gandų kilimo bei funkcionavimo sistemą, jų socialinę organizaciją ir sklaidą, tačiau tai padaryti trukdo sunkumai, kuriuos lemia pati gando prigimtis. The aim of the research is to find out how the employees view rumours in organization. This research employs survey data results analysis, processing and interpretation methods, quantitative survey, and analysis and systematization of scientific literature. Definitions of rumours emphasize different aspects – this results from differences in viewpoints of scholars. Sociologically, the following components of functioning of rumours, which are important to society, are notable: subjects of rumours, social environment in which rumours spread, types of rumours, susceptibility of various social groups to rumours, and social control possibilities. It is also important to identify the system of origination and functioning of rumours, their social arrangement and spread, but this is hindered by difficulties caused by the very nature of rumours.

    Naujasis „Lyčių studijų ir tyrimų“ numeris temiškai susideda iš dviejų dalių. Pirmieji penki straipsniai skaitytojų mintį kreipia į XX a. pradžią, į kovos už moterų lygiateisiškumo pripažinimą laikus, ypač į Sofijos Čiurlionienės-Kymantaitės bei Mikalojaus Konstantino Čiurlionio kūrybinį bendradarbiavimą. Kiti keturi straipsniai žvelgia į vėlesnius laikus, apima aktualiausias šiandienos problemas ir išplečia tyrimų geografiją. Nors vienas nuo kito nutolę toliau negu siekia vienos kartos atmintis, šie laikotarpiai yra susiję: be XX a. pradžios sufražisčių, „emancipančių“ įdirbio veikiausiai nebūtų tiek pasiekęs vėlesnis moterų sąjūdis, sukūręs moterų (vėliau peraugęs į lyčių) studijas, kaip akademinių studijų sritį. Dažnai teigiama, kad pragmatiškėjanti nūdienos lietuvių visuomenė linkusi vis mažiau domėtis istorija (visuomenės ar atskirų jos segmentų), tačiau be jos neįmanoma suvokti nūdienos procesų. The new issue of “Gender Studies and Research” comprises two parts. The first five articles focus on the beginning of the 20th century, the time of struggle for women’s equality and creative collaboration of the eminent Lithuanian family of artists and intellectuals Sofija Čiurlionienė-Kymantaitė and Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. The remaining four articles glance at later times, touch upon the most pressing contemporary issues and expand the geography of gender research. Despite them being as far apart as the memory span of an entire generation, these periods are interlinked. The subsequent women’s movement that went on to create women (later entitled gender) studies as a field of academic research, would probably have never achieved this much if not for the activity of the 20th century suffragettes or “emancipationists”. It is frequently noted that the more and more pragmatic contemporary Lithuanian society tends to lose interest in history (of the society as a whole or its independent segments). However, in the absence of history, it is impossible to comprehend contemporary processes.

    The objective of the research on the formation of the ancient Russian state has been to describe the character of the economic and communal relations of the East Slavs at the time of the state formation. The 20th century historiographers have considered the formation of the ancient Russian state as the result of lengthy consolidation process of the East Slavs that took place in the 2nd half of the 1st millennium of our era. It has been proved that the Normans did not have a significant influence on the formation of the East Slavic state. Most scholars have recognized the existence of early feudal system. The wide ethnical illustration of the East Slavs has been presented, the place of the East Slavs in the system of the European nations has been determined, and their culture and daily life have been researched. The 20th century historiographers have tended to advance the genesis of the statehood of ancient Rus by several ages. The first steps in this direction were done by Grekov and Rybakov and some Lithuanian historians used the same path. Thus, the advancement of the statehood in accordance with the results of the analysis of social-economic development is characteristic to historiography. At the same time it cannot be left unnoticed that the researchers of the ancient Russian history have not reached the unanimous opinion on some principal issues.     1998–2003 m. Lietuvos sodininkystės ir daržininkystės institute tirta penkių veislių tipų: Egipto plokštieji, Crosby, Bordo, Detroit, Cylindra bei įvairių veislių grupių (ankstyvųjų ir vidutinio ankstyvumo, viena-dvisėklių ir daugiasėklių) raudonųjų burokėlių biocheminė sudėtis. Nustatytas ir vertintas tirpių sausųjų medžiagų, cukrų (invertuoto cukraus ir sacharozės), askorbo rūgšties, betaninų ir nitratų kiekis. Šešerių metų tyrimo duomenys rodo, kad daugiausia (14,7 %) tirpių sausųjų medžiagų susikaupia Bordo tipo burokėliuose. Kitų veislių tipų burokėliuose tirpios sausosios medžiagos sudaro 13,50–12,70 % ir iš esmės nesiskiria. Daugiausiai cukrų (9,71 %) susikaupia Bordo tipo burokėliuose, tačiau iš esmės šis rodiklis skiriasi tik nuo Cylindra ir Detroit (hibridai) tipo veislių. Askorbo rūgšties rasta 18,15–15,82 mg 100 g-1. Šio rodiklio esminių skirtumų tarp veislių tipų nėra. Betanino kiekio esminis skirtumas nustatytas tik tarp Bordo (80,98 mg 100 g-1) ir Egipto plokštieji (59,65 mg 100 g-1) tipo veislių burokėlių. Skirtingų metų augimo sąlygos turi įtakos biocheminių medžiagų kaupimuisi šakniavaisiuose. Stabilesnis tirpių sausųjų medžiagų ir cukrų kiekis yra Detroit tipo hibridiniuose burokėliuose. Ilgesnės vegetacijos, t. y. vidutinio ankstyvumo, burokėliuose pastebėta tendencija kauptis daugiau biocheminių medžiagų ir mažiau nitratų. Tirtų veislių daugiasėkliuose burokėliuose susikaupia daugiau tirpių sausųjų medžiagų, cukrų ir betaninų negu viena-dvisėkliuose. During 1998–2003 the biochemical content of 5 sortotypes (Egypt flat, Crosby, Bordo, Detroit – varieties, Detroit – hybrids and Cylindra) and various groups (early, medium early, moonseeds and polyseeds) of seed beet was tested in Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture. The content of soluble dry substances, total sugar, betanin and nitrates were investigated. According to the data of a six-year investigations, red beet cultivar Bordo accumulated the largest amount (14.7 %) of soluble solids substances. The other red beet cultivars accumulated 13.50–12.70 % of soluble dry matters and hardly made no basic difference among each other. Red beet cultivar Bordo accumulated the largest amounts of sugars (9.71 %). This quantity significantly differs from Cylindra and Detroit type hybrids and cultivars. Amounts of ascorbic acid varied within the limits of 18.15–15.82 mg 100 g-1, but no significant differences among the cultivars were determined. Significantly different amount of betanin was observed only among the Bordo (80.98 mg 100 g-1) and Egypet flat (59.65 mg 100 g-1) type cultivars. Growing conditions influence the accumulation of biochemical organic materials in red beet. More stabile amount of soluble dry matters and sugars was observed in Detroit type hybrids. [to full text] В 1998–2003 гг. в Литовском институте садоводства и овощеводства изучался биохимический состав столовой свеклы 5 сортотипов (Египeтская плоская, Кросби, Бoрдo, Детройт – сорта, Детройт – гибриды и Цилиндра) и разных групп сортов (ранних и среднеранних, односемянных и многосемянных). Изучено и оценено количество растворимых сухих веществ, сахаров (инвертированного сахара и сахарозы), аскорбиновой кислоты, бетанинов и нитратов. По итогам шестилетних исследований наибольшее количество растворимых сухих веществ (14,7 %) содержит столовая свекла сортотипа Бордо. Количест-во растворимых сухих веществ в свекле других сортотипов изменялось несущественно и составило 12,70–13,50 %. Наибольшее количество сахаров (9,71 %) найдено также в свекле сортотипа Бордо, но существенно этот показатель отличался только от сортотипов Цилиндра и Детройт.     Aptariama Lietuvos Mokslų Akademijos akademiko Leonardo Saukos folkloristikos koncepcija, plėtojimosi kryptys ir pasiekimai. Pirmojo veiklos tarpsnio moksliniai interesai apibendrinti 1958-1960 m. parašytoje (paskelbta 1968 m.) studijoje „Lietuvių vestuvinės dainos (XIX a. - XX a. pradžia)“. Remiantis įtaigia poetiškumo atodangų analize, daroma išvada, jog lietuvių vestuvinės dainos pagrįstai laikomos viena iš aukščiausių lietuvių tautos kūrybingumo apraiškų. Antrojo L. Saukos mokslinės veiklos tarpsnio viršūnė – fundamentali monografija „Lietuvių liaudies dainų eilėdara“(1978) ir įvedanti į ją studija „Lietuvių folkloro eilėtyros istorijos ir teorijos klausimai“(1974). Šiuose veikaluose aptarti pagrindiniai lietuvių dainų eilėdaros ir ją determinuojančių veiksnių – melodijos ir sintaksinės intonacinės kalbos sandaros – parametrai, ištirta daugiau kaip 120000 dainų tekstų, per 2000 melodijų. Kita fundamentali L. Saukos mokslinės veiklos kryptis šiuo laikotarpiu – daugiatomio kritinio leidinio „Lietuvių liaudies dainynas“ rengimas ir leidyba. Trečiuoju mokslinės veiklos tarpsniu L. Sauka parašė folkloristikos tyrimų patirtį apibendrinantį vadovėlį „Lietuvių tautosaka“(1989; 1998), tęsė lituanistinės folkloristikos šaltinių kritinį publikavimą („Jono Basanavičiaus tautosakos biblioteka“, 15 t., 1993-2004). L. Sauka yra istorinės kultūrinės folkloristikos mokyklos, kuriai Lietuvoje atstovauja J. Basanavičius, M. Biržiška, J. Baldauskas-Baldžius, Z. Slaviūnas, Ambr. Jonynas, tradicijų tęsėjas. It contains the discussion of folklore studies concept formulated by the academic of the Academy of Sciences Leonardas Sauka, its development trends and achievements. Scientific interest of the first activity period are summarised in the study Lithuanian Connubial Songs written in 1958-1960 (publicised in 1968) (19th century - beginning of the 20th century). Based on the suggestive analysis of poetry exposures, the conclusion is made that Lithuanian wedding songs are deservedly considered some of the highest creative artworks of the Lithuanian nation. The climax of the second period of the scientific activity of L. Sauka was his fundamental study Versification of Lithuanian Folksongs (1978), and its introductory study Historical and theoretical issues of the Lithuanian folklore poetry analysis (1974). This work discusses the basic parameters of poetry of the Lithuanian folksongs, and their determining factors – melody, and the structure of intonational language syntax; it contains the analysis of over 120000 song texts, and over 2000 melodies. Another fundamental field of scientific activity of L. Sauka currently is the preparation and publication of the critical edition of Lithuanian Folk Song Book in many volumes. During the third period of scientific activity, L. Sauka wrote a textbook summarising the experience of folklore studies research Lithuanian Folklore (1989; 1998), continued critical publications of Lithuanistic folklore studies sources. L. Sauka continues the traditions of the historical-cultural school of folklore studies represented in Lithuania by J. Basanavičius, M. Biržiška, J. Baldauskas-Baldžius, Z. Slaviūnas, Ambr. Jonynas.

Šiuolaikinė bažnytinė kompozitorių Kristinos Vasiliauskaitės, Vidmanto Bartulio, Algirdo Martinaičio ir kitų kūryba straipsnyje tyrinėjama melodikos, ritmikos, tonalumo, kompozicijos sudėtingumo ir originalumo (naujumo) aspektais, atsižvelgiant į Vakarų Europos bažnytinės muzikos istorijoje susiformavusią sakralumo sampratą ir į atnaujintos liturgijos keliamus reikalavimus. Tradicija grindžiama bažnytinė muzika laikytina visateise šiuolaikinės meno kūrybos dalimi, kuriai nedera taikyti avangardo estetikos principų. Church work is determined by a number of factors. It is influenced by the Christian self-perception of artists, their experience of opening to God as well as historical and social processes. The mission of an artist – to educate the society by liberating it from routine and to make the spiritual reality palpable and attractive as more as possible – is implemented in creative works by choosing a certain language of music. In this article contemporary church compositions by Kristina Vasiliauskaitė, Vidmantas Bartulis and Algirdas Martinaitis are explored from the aspects of melodics, rhythmics, tonality, complicacy and originality (novelty) of compositions with reference to the concept of sacrality, as developed in the history of church music of Western Europe, and the requirements raised by renewed liturgy. Tradition-based church music is to be considered a full-fledged part of contemporary arts whereto a dimension of vanguard aesthetics should not apply.

    Mokytojo profesija nuolat susiduria su iššūkiu įrodyti įvairių mokymo ir mokymosi metodų taikymo efektyvumą. Mokytojų rengimo sistemos Švedijoje šiuo metu reformuojamos, todėl švietimo įstaigoms itin svarbu žinoti, kaip studijuoja mokytojo specialybės studentai. Taip pat svarbu, kad ir patys būsimieji mokytojai gerai pažintų savo studijavimo stilius. Šio tyrimo tikslas – remiantis tarptautiniais studijavimo stilių tyrimais, nustatyti studijavimo stilių skirtumus tarp dviejų pagrindinių mokyklų būsimųjų mokytojų grupių: muzikos mokytojų ir kitų mokomųjų dalykų mokytojų. Skirtumai, pastebėti tarp šių būsimųjų mokytojų grupių, galėtų turėti įtakos ir aukštajam mokslui, studijavimo strategijoms bei mokytojų naudojamoms mokymo strategijoms. Tyrimui atsitiktinai parinkti 65 mokytojo specialybės studentai – 33 įvairių mokomųjų dalykų būsimieji mokytojai ir 32 būsimieji muzikos mokytojai. Siekiant nustatyti studijavimo stilius, vyraujančius tarp tyrimo dalyvių, naudotos 20 produktyvumo dominuojančioje aplinkoje tyrimo (angl. Productivity Environmental Preference Survey – PEPS) poskalių (Dunn, Dunn & Price, 1984, 1991, 2000; 1 priedas). Tyrimo rezultatai padėjo atskleisti statistiškai ryškių skirtumų tarp dviejų tirtų mokytojo specialybės studentų grupių. [toliau žr. visą tekstą] The teaching profession has been continually challenged to provide evidence of the effectiveness of teaching and learning methods. The teacher education systems are currently undergoing reforms in Sweden. Hence, it is importance for educational institutions to be aware of the different ways that their student teachers learn and it is importance for prospective teachers to become aware of their own learning styles. The purpose of this research was to explore the learning styles preferences for two groups of prospective teachers: music teachers and regular compulsory classroom teachers and to analyze their differences in the light of international research on learning styles. If these groups of prospective teachers differ, this would have an impact on higher education, students’ learning strategies and teachers’ teaching strategies. The study involved 65 randomly selected student teachers. 33 were student teachers for compulsory school and 32 were music student teachers. Twenty subscales of the Productivity Environmental Preference Survey (PEPS) (Dunn, Dunn & Price, 1984, 1991, 2000; Annex 1) were used to identify the learning-styles preferences of the participants.     Pradedant svarstyti meno sampratą nūdienos kontekste lyg ir atrodo, jog susieti meno ir prievartos sąvokas būtų ganėtinai sudėtinga, nes šiuolaikiniam mąstymui įprasta meną sieti su laisvės bei kūrybiškumo sąvokomis. Tačiau šiame straipsnyje, remiantis XX a. Vakarų mąstytoju, muzikologu ir sociologu Theodoru Adorno, bus bandoma parodyti, kad menui yra galima tiek viena, tiek kita perspektyva, todėl priimti kurią nors vieną poziciją būtų gana problemiška. The article gets deeper into relation between art and sociality discussed by T. Adorno, the 20th century Western thinker. Thinking about the concept of art in the context of contemporary thought it is customary to associate art with individuality, freedom, authenticity and creativity. However, T. Adorno, exploring Western art from historical‑sociological perspective on the one hand noted that art is an integral part of sociality, on the other hand it is characterized by the coherence not only with freedom but also with violence. So first of all relation between art and violence is analyzed and features specific to this scenario are identified. Then there is a transfer to the relationship between concepts of art and freedom as well as to the analysis of specificity coherent to this outlook.

    Akmuo yra vienas iš daiktų Rainerio Marios Rilke’s žmogaus pasaulyje, kuris pasižymi išskirtiniu simboliniu daiktiškumu, šio fenomeno meditacija, persmelkta kūrybinių „aš“ galių. Kaip egzistencinė būties dalis ir šventuma, daiktai pripažįstami ir šlovinami giesmės intonacijomis. Daiktų ir žmogaus santykis iškyla kaip laikiškai štai-būčiai ir metafizinei paslapčiai atsiverianti tikrovė. IX Rilke’s Duino elegijoje žmogaus būtis suvokiama kaip prasmė pavadinti daiktus: „Esam čia gal tik tam, kad ištartu­me: namas, / tiltas, šulinys, vartai, ąsotis, vaismedis, langas, – / kilniau: kolona, bokštas...“ (R i lk e 1996, 299). Per šiuos ir kitus daiktus jutimiškai patiriamas pasaulis yra galimybė autentiškam santykiui su būtimi, sakralumo ištikčiai. Kita vertus, ir patys daiktai yra savaiminė vertybė, prie kurios priartėti žmogui leidžia ypatinga kalbos patirtis. Apie daiktiškojo Rilke’s pasaulio simboliškumą kalbėjo ne vienas poeto kritikas. Iš daugiaprasmės poeto simbolikos šioje publikacijoje linkstama į teopoetinį krikščioniškojo pasaulio reikšmių lauką . Tai lemia aptariami tekstai – eilėraščiai iš Valandų knygos (Das Stundenbuch). Šioje pranciškoniškosios, subjektyviai krikščioniškosios (žmogiškąjį ir daiktiškąjį subjektyvumą suabsoliutinančios) dvasios knygoje akmens ir akmeniškumo yra gausu. Žmogaus būčiai suvokti akmuo pasirenkamas ir kuriamas kaip gamtos ir Biblijos daiktas. Šios publikacijos tikslas – ne tiek išsamus tyrimas, kiek „akmeninių“ Valandų knygos eilėraščių... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] Stone is one of the things in the world of Rilke’s man. The aim of the present publication is to comment on several poems from “The Book of Hours” presenting new translations into the Lithuanian language. For the comments we have chosen the poetical semantic field of the Christian world from polysemous poet’s symbolism. It is conditioned by the collection itself. In the poems “Jetzt reifen schon die roten Berberitze” and “Da trat ich als ein Pilger ein” stone becomes the metaphor of God. In the poem “Wenn etwas mir vom Fenster fällt” stone allows the verification of the world order and the assurance in its existence and meaning. The poems “Sie sind es nicht“ and “Du bist der Arme, du der Mittellose” are related by the symbolism of stone expressing divine poverty. In the poem “Du bist das Kloster zu den Wundenmalen” stone speaks about the polysemy of a cloister. The stone world of a cloister as God’s house symbolizes the nature of the relation between human and God. In this and other texts, stone and language appear as the ways to get closer to the essence, the possibility to listen to and hear. In the poem “Und seine Sorgfalt ist uns wie ein Alb” stone and silence point to the divine incognizability. In the poem “Mach mich zum Wächter deiner Weiten” stone is not only a part of the building but a spot of silence that allows hearing. Quite a few poems of “The Book of Hours” have the spirit of pilgrimage.

    Šio tyrimo tikslas – išsiaiškinti, kaip darbuotojai vertina gandus organizacijoje. Taikyta tyrimo duomenų rezultatų analizė, apdorojimo ir interpretavimo metodai, kiekybinio tipo apklausa bei mokslinės literatūros analizė ir sisteminimas. Sąvokos gandas apibrėžimuose akcentuojami skirtingi dalykai. Tai lemia mokslo sričių atstovų pozicija. Sociologijos požiūriu, pabrėžtini šie visuomenei svarbūs gandų funkcionavimo elementai: gando subjektai, socialinė aplinka, kurioje tie gandai plinta, gandų tipai ir įvairių socialinių grupių imlumas jiems, pagaliau – socialinės kontrolės galimybės. Svarbu nustatyti ir gandų kilimo bei funkcionavimo sistemą, jų socialinę organizaciją ir sklaidą, tačiau tai padaryti trukdo sunkumai, kuriuos lemia pati gando prigimtis. The aim of the research is to find out how the employees view rumours in organization. This research employs survey data results analysis, processing and interpretation methods, quantitative survey, and analysis and systematization of scientific literature. Definitions of rumours emphasize different aspects – this results from differences in viewpoints of scholars. Sociologically, the following components of functioning of rumours, which are important to society, are notable: subjects of rumours, social environment in which rumours spread, types of rumours, susceptibility of various social groups to rumours, and social control possibilities. It is also important to identify the system of origination and functioning of rumours, their social arrangement and spread, but this is hindered by difficulties caused by the very nature of rumours.

    Naujasis „Lyčių studijų ir tyrimų“ numeris temiškai susideda iš dviejų dalių. Pirmieji penki straipsniai skaitytojų mintį kreipia į XX a. pradžią, į kovos už moterų lygiateisiškumo pripažinimą laikus, ypač į Sofijos Čiurlionienės-Kymantaitės bei Mikalojaus Konstantino Čiurlionio kūrybinį bendradarbiavimą. Kiti keturi straipsniai žvelgia į vėlesnius laikus, apima aktualiausias šiandienos problemas ir išplečia tyrimų geografiją. Nors vienas nuo kito nutolę toliau negu siekia vienos kartos atmintis, šie laikotarpiai yra susiję: be XX a. pradžios sufražisčių, „emancipančių“ įdirbio veikiausiai nebūtų tiek pasiekęs vėlesnis moterų sąjūdis, sukūręs moterų (vėliau peraugęs į lyčių) studijas, kaip akademinių studijų sritį. Dažnai teigiama, kad pragmatiškėjanti nūdienos lietuvių visuomenė linkusi vis mažiau domėtis istorija (visuomenės ar atskirų jos segmentų), tačiau be jos neįmanoma suvokti nūdienos procesų. The new issue of “Gender Studies and Research” comprises two parts. The first five articles focus on the beginning of the 20th century, the time of struggle for women’s equality and creative collaboration of the eminent Lithuanian family of artists and intellectuals Sofija Čiurlionienė-Kymantaitė and Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. The remaining four articles glance at later times, touch upon the most pressing contemporary issues and expand the geography of gender research. Despite them being as far apart as the memory span of an entire generation, these periods are interlinked. The subsequent women’s movement that went on to create women (later entitled gender) studies as a field of academic research, would probably have never achieved this much if not for the activity of the 20th century suffragettes or “emancipationists”. It is frequently noted that the more and more pragmatic contemporary Lithuanian society tends to lose interest in history (of the society as a whole or its independent segments). However, in the absence of history, it is impossible to comprehend contemporary processes.

    The objective of the research on the formation of the ancient Russian state has been to describe the character of the economic and communal relations of the East Slavs at the time of the state formation. The 20th century historiographers have considered the formation of the ancient Russian state as the result of lengthy consolidation process of the East Slavs that took place in the 2nd half of the 1st millennium of our era. It has been proved that the Normans did not have a significant influence on the formation of the East Slavic state. Most scholars have recognized the existence of early feudal system. The wide ethnical illustration of the East Slavs has been presented, the place of the East Slavs in the system of the European nations has been determined, and their culture and daily life have been researched. The 20th century historiographers have tended to advance the genesis of the statehood of ancient Rus by several ages. The first steps in this direction were done by Grekov and Rybakov and some Lithuanian historians used the same path. Thus, the advancement of the statehood in accordance with the results of the analysis of social-economic development is characteristic to historiography. At the same time it cannot be left unnoticed that the researchers of the ancient Russian history have not reached the unanimous opinion on some principal issues.
