    Les médias, qu’il s’agisse de la presse écrite, de la télévision, de la radio ou d’Internet, sont devenus des espaces incontournables de participation à l’un des débats les plus brûlants de l’Europe : l’Islam et les musulmans en Europe. Mutual Misunderstandings offre une contribution à ce débat en revisitant les hypotheses très répandues qui le traversent : qu’il existe une « Europe » facilement reparable et que cette « Europe » s’oppose à un monde musulman prédéfini, et que le conflit existe dans toutes les articulations passées, présentes reliant ces deux « mondes » apparemment distincts. Enfin, que les médias doivent donc laisser transparaître ce très profond antagonisme dans leurs reportages. Le but de ce livre est de décortiquer ces catégories à la fois fortement associées et pourtant peu utiles.L’ouvrage examine ainsi les différentes manières historiques et politiques par lesquelles l’« Islam » est devenu le cadre principal des débats sur les musulmans et l’Europe, tout en mettant en lumière le rôle des médias dans ce processus. Le recueil fait le pari d’une approche géographique innovante. Il s’agit de mettre face à face la vision européenne du monde musulman et celle des pays à forte majorité musulmane sur l’Europe, de la France et l’Allemagne jusqu’à la BosnieHerzégovine, la Turquie et l’Egypte. Ce choix relève d’une intention de déplacer l’attention traditionnellement portée sur le Moyen-Orient arabe et l’Iran vers lespays de l’Europe du Sud-Est tels que la Turquie et la Bosnie, ainsi que l’Egypte, plutôt que de se concentrer sur la situation plus caractéristique mais surmédiatisée de l’Arabie saoudite. Mutual Misunderstandings décrit un voyage fascinant à travers cinq études différentes des systèmes médiatiques et de leurs relations avec leurs homologues respectifs internes et externes. The media, from newspapers and magazines to television, radio and the internet, have become central sites of contestation over one of the most controversial issues in European public debates: Islam and Muslims in Europe. Mutual Misunderstandings seeks to contribute to this debate by questioning the widespread assumptions that permeate it: that there is a clearly delimited “Europe”, that this “Europe” is opposed to a bounded “Muslim world”, and that conflict is written into the history and present of all interactions between these two supposedly distinct “worlds”. And finally, that the media therefore has to reflect this deep-seated enmity in its coverage. This volume therefore attempts to unpack these highly aggregated, yet ultimately unhelpful categories. It explores the historically and politically contingent ways in which “Islam” has come to be the major frame of reference for debates on Muslims and Europe, and highlights the role of the media in this process.The collection does so by suggesting a novel geographic scope of inquiry. It looks from Europe to the Muslim world, but also from Muslim majority countries to Europe: from France and Germany to Bosnia Herzegovina, Turkey and Egypt. This choice reflects an intention to decenter the conventional focus on the ArabMiddle East and Iran, by considering cases from South East Europe such as Turkey and Bosnia, as well as looking at Egypt, rather than at the more specific but over-reported case of Saudi Arabia. With this focus, Mutual Misunderstandings provides a fascinating exploration into five very distinct cases of media systems dealing with their respective internal and external others.

    Authors: Pinto, Jean-Jacques;

    Dans mon article de la revue Marges Linguistiques intitulé "Linguistique et psychanalyse, une approche logiciste", j'ai du écourter certains passages, par contrainte éditoriale sur le nombre de pages. Je publie ici des compléments extraits du chapitre méthodologique complet "Esquisse d'une psychanalyse scientifique" tiré du livre "La parole est aux discours" (co-écrit avec Éliane Pons), et augmentés d'exemples.Le parler "E → I" ("du progrès"), parler de la rédemption, du rachat, de la réparation, avec sa biographie en deux étapes (jeunesse "folle" et âge mûr "rangé"), semble résulter d'un jugement en deux temps du parent, qui rejette au début un enfant non conforme à son attente, puis « se fait une raison », s'en accommode, et remédie au "défaut" naturel par l'éducation, la "formation", la "construction de la personnalité de l'enfant".On trouvera dans la suite de l'article, à travers le parcours de Louis Aragon, un exemple détaillé du fonctionnement du parler constructeur.

    Authors: Asselin, Laure;

    Le développement du cortex cérébral se déroule selon des étapes bien définies qui sont essentielles à la formation d’un cerveau fonctionnel. La perturbation de l’une ou plusieurs de ces étapes peut conduire à des malformations neuro-développementales, responsables de différents troubles cognitifs, d’épilepsies ou encore de déficience intellectuelle. De nombreuses mutations dans des gènes codant pour les tubulines ou bien les kinésines, sont retrouvées chez des individus présentant diverses anomalies neuro-développementales. Bien que les kinésines soient impliquées dans le développement cortical, les mécanismes fonctionnels par lesquels elles conduisent aux malformations demeurent encore méconnus. Mon travail de thèse identifie la kinésine Kif21b, jusqu’alors peu connue, comme étant essentielle au développement cortical. Nous montrons que Kif21b régule la migration neuronale dans le cortex et identifions quatre variants chez des individus présentant des malformations neuro-développementales. Nous montrons que l’expression ectopique des variants chez la souris et le poisson zèbre récapitulent les phénotypes observés chez ces patients. The development of the cerebral cortex is a highly regulated process that is crucial for the establishment of functional cortical networks. Disruption of one or several of these steps can lead severe neurodevelopmental disorders that are associated with intellectual disabilities, epilepsies and cognitive impairment. Over the past few years, several genetic mutations in genes encoding either tubulin or microtubule-associated motors such as kinesins, have been found in individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. Although kinesins have been found to be essential for a proper cortical development, the exact functions of kinesins in these processes are still poorly understood. My work clearly identified Kif21b, a poorly-known kinesin, as a novel key regulator of cortical development both in mouse and human. We show that Kif21b regulates both radial and tangential migration of cortical neurons, and identify four KIF21B variants in individuals presenting neurodevelopmental disorders. We show that ectopic expression of variants recapitulate phenotypes both in mice and zebrafish.

    Authors: Bénassy-Quéré, Agnès; Forouheshfar, Yeganeh;

    Nous étudions les conséquences d'une multipolarisation du système monétaire international sur la volatilité des taux de change bilatéraux. Plus précisément, nous analysons comment l'internationalisation du yuan pourrait modifier l'impact des chocs d'offre d'actifs et de commerce extérieur sur le taux de change euro-dollar, dans le cadre d'un modèle de portefeuille à trois pays et trois monnaies. La version statique du modèle montre que l'internationalisation du yuan (définie comme une part plus importante de cette monnaie dans les portefeuilles internationaux) serait neutre ou stabilisante pour le taux de change euro-dollar, quelque soit le régime de change chinois. La version dynamique du modèle (ajustement stock-flux) suggère que l'internationalisation du yuan rendrait variations de change plus efficaces pour stabiliser les positions extérieures nettes après un choc commercial. We study the implication of a multipolarization of the international monetary system on cross-currency volatility. More specifically, we analyze whether the internationalization of the yuan could modify the impact of asset supply and trade shocks on the euro-dollar exchange rate, within a three-country, three-currency portfolio model. Our static model shows that the internationalization of the yuan (defined as a rise in the yuan in international portfolios) would be either neutral or stabilizing for the euro-dollar rate, whatever the exchange-rate regime of China. Moving to a dynamic, stock-flow framework, we show that the internationalization of the yuan would make exchange-rate variations more efficient to stabilize net foreign asset positions after a trade shock. Dans mon article de la revue Marges Linguistiques intitulé "Linguistique et psychanalyse, une approche logiciste", j'ai du écourter certains passages, par contrainte éditoriale sur le nombre de pages. Je publie ici des compléments extraits du chapitre méthodologique complet "Esquisse d'une psychanalyse scientifique" tiré du livre "La parole est aux discours" (co-écrit avec Éliane Pons), et augmentés d'exemples.Le parler "E → I" ("du progrès"), parler de la rédemption, du rachat, de la réparation, avec sa biographie en deux étapes (jeunesse "folle" et âge mûr "rangé"), semble résulter d'un jugement en deux temps du parent, qui rejette au début un enfant non conforme à son attente, puis « se fait une raison », s'en accommode, et remédie au "défaut" naturel par l'éducation, la "formation", la "construction de la personnalité de l'enfant".On trouvera dans la suite de l'article, à travers le parcours de Louis Aragon, un exemple détaillé du fonctionnement du parler constructeur.

    Authors: Asselin, Laure;

    Le développement du cortex cérébral se déroule selon des étapes bien définies qui sont essentielles à la formation d’un cerveau fonctionnel. La perturbation de l’une ou plusieurs de ces étapes peut conduire à des malformations neuro-développementales, responsables de différents troubles cognitifs, d’épilepsies ou encore de déficience intellectuelle. De nombreuses mutations dans des gènes codant pour les tubulines ou bien les kinésines, sont retrouvées chez des individus présentant diverses anomalies neuro-développementales. Bien que les kinésines soient impliquées dans le développement cortical, les mécanismes fonctionnels par lesquels elles conduisent aux malformations demeurent encore méconnus. Mon travail de thèse identifie la kinésine Kif21b, jusqu’alors peu connue, comme étant essentielle au développement cortical. Nous montrons que Kif21b régule la migration neuronale dans le cortex et identifions quatre variants chez des individus présentant des malformations neuro-développementales. Nous montrons que l’expression ectopique des variants chez la souris et le poisson zèbre récapitulent les phénotypes observés chez ces patients. The development of the cerebral cortex is a highly regulated process that is crucial for the establishment of functional cortical networks. Disruption of one or several of these steps can lead severe neurodevelopmental disorders that are associated with intellectual disabilities, epilepsies and cognitive impairment. Over the past few years, several genetic mutations in genes encoding either tubulin or microtubule-associated motors such as kinesins, have been found in individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. Although kinesins have been found to be essential for a proper cortical development, the exact functions of kinesins in these processes are still poorly understood. My work clearly identified Kif21b, a poorly-known kinesin, as a novel key regulator of cortical development both in mouse and human. We show that Kif21b regulates both radial and tangential migration of cortical neurons, and identify four KIF21B variants in individuals presenting neurodevelopmental disorders. We show that ectopic expression of variants recapitulate phenotypes both in mice and zebrafish.
