Abstract A problem posed by Vasconcelos [33] on the variation of the first Hilbert coefficients of parameter ideals with a common integral closure in a local ring is studied. Affirmative answers are given and counterexamples are explored as well.

Condensing boilers achieve higher efficiency than traditional boilers by using waste heat in flue gases to preheat cold return water entering the boiler. Water vapor produced during combustion is condensed into liquid form, thus recovering its latent heat of vaporizatio...

Abstract In this paper, we give an affirmative answer to the problem posed by S. Lin (2002, 2007) in [7] , [8] , and give another answer to the question posed by Y. Ikeda, C. Liu and Y. Tanaka (2002) in [5] .

Abstract In this paper, we prove fixed point theorems for generally contractive mappings in complete partial metric spaces. Theorems presented are generalizations of recent fixed point theorems of D. Ilic, V. Pavlovic, and V. Rakocevic. An example is also stated that il...

Abstract The moving with fast velocity of each node in vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) results in the existence transient communication links, which degrade the performance of developed protocols. Established routes frequently become invalid, and existing communication...

Abstract A new approach to computing the Frechet subdifferential and the limiting subdifferential of integral functionals is proposed. Thanks to this way, we obtain formulae for computing the Frechet and limiting subdifferentials of the integral functional F ( u ) = ∫ Ω...

Background Shigella sonnei is an emergent and major diarrheal pathogen for which there is currently no vaccine. We aimed to quantify duration of maternal antibody against S. sonnei and investigate transplacental IgG transfer in a birth cohort in southern Vietnam. Method...

AbstractA set of graphs is said to be independent if there is no homomorphism between distinct graphs from the set. We consider the existence problems related to the independent sets of countable graphs. While the maximal size of an independent set of countable graphs i...

AbstractThe objective of this paper is to better understand the various individual and household factors that influence resilience, that is, people⬢s ability to respond adequately to shocks and stressors. One of our hypotheses is that resilience does not simply reflect ...
