We characterize the solution of Navier-Stokes equation as a stochastic geodesic on the diffeomorphisms group, thus generalizing Arnold's description of the Euler flow.

We apply theta body relaxations to the K_i-cover problem and use this to show polynomial time solvability for certain classes of graphs. In particular, we give an effective relaxation where all K_i-p-hole facets are valid, and study its relation to an open question of C...

Three edges $e_{1}, e_{2}$ and $e_{3}$ in a graph $G$ are consecutive if they form a path (in this order) or a cycle of length three. An injective edge coloring of a graph $G = (V,E)$ is a coloring $c$ of the edges of $G$ such that if $e_{1}, e_{2}$ and $e_{3}$ are cons...

We describe the cosmological evolution predicted by three distinct $f(R)$ theories, with emphasis on the evolution of linear perturbations. The most promising observational tools for distinguishing $f(R)$ theories from $\Lambda$CDM are those intrinsically related to the...

A simple estimator for the finite right endpoint of a distribution function in the Gumbel max-domain of attraction is proposed. Large sample properties such as consistency and the asymptotic distribution are derived. A simulation study is also presented.

Our GMRT HI observations of the ultra diffuse galaxy (UDG) UGC 2162, projected $\sim$ 300 kpc from the centre of the M77 group, reveal it to a have an extended HI disk (R$_{HI}$/R$_{25}$ $\sim$ 3.3) with a moderate rotational velocity (V$_{rot} \sim$ 31 km/s). This V$_{...
