International audience; Since modern transport services are becoming more flexible, demand-responsive, and energy/cost efficient, there is a growing demand for large-scale microscopic simulation platforms in order to test sophisticated routing algorithms. Such platforms have to simulate in detail, not only the dynamically changing demand and supply of the relevant service, but also traffic flow and other relevant transport services. This paper presents the DVRP extension to the open-source MATSim simulator. The extension is designed to be highly general and customizable to simulate a wide range of dynamic rich vehicle routing problems. The extension allows plugging in of various algorithms that are responsible for continuous re-optimisation of routes in response to changes in the system. The DVRP extension has been used in many research and commercial projects dealing with simulation of electric and autonomous taxis, demand-responsive transport, personal rapid transport, free-floating car sharing and parking search.

Il s'agit ici de questionner l'histoire des migrations politiques en Suisse et d'en caractériser les différentes mobilités qu'elles revêtent. L'enjeu est aussi de faire un point d'historiographie sur l'évolution de la recherche dans ce domaine

We present a new method for forecasting systems of multiple interrelated time series. The method learns the forecast models together with discovering leading indicators from within the system that serve as good predictors improving the forecast accuracy and a cluster structure of the predictive tasks around these. The method is based on the classical linear vector autoregressive model (VAR) and links the discovery of the leading indicators to inferring sparse graphs of Granger causality. We formulate a new constrained optimisation problem to promote the desired sparse structures across the models and the sharing of information amongst the learning tasks in a multi-task manner. We propose an algorithm for solving the problem and document on a battery of synthetic and real-data experiments the advantages of our new method over baseline VAR models as well as the state-of-the-art sparse VAR learning methods.

The social design approach presented in this chapter was developed to ensure that the new smart living lab building includes not only sus- tainable environmental and economic aspects, but also social aspects. By better understand- ing the preferences and attitudes of its future occupants and the three founding institutions, the team will be able to successfully incorpo- rate the former in the design process.

Despite the high relevance of multilingual communication for policy implementation and outreach across regions, not all international organizations have fully-fledged translation services as part of their structures. In multiple institutional settings, translation needs are addressed through alternative channels such as systematic outsourcing and non-professional in-house translation. In these cases, introducing translation expertise for managing translation matters can have a particularly critical bearing on translation quality. This chapter reports two cases of action research in real institutional environments where no in-house qualified translator was initially involved in managing translation. After a diagnosis of translation workflow and quality deficits based on interviews and text analysis, measures were implemented to overcome these issues in English-Spanish translations. These actions included professional project management and revision in the first setting (versus review in the initial approach) and professional translation (versus prior non-professional translation) in the replication study. The positive effects of these interventions were measured through a comparative error analysis of target texts produced with and without expert translation management in each institution. The findings and the longer-term impact of these interventions are then discussed, establishing correlations between profile changes and product quality variations.
