    This publication is a detailed lesson plan on the topic «Rise and Fall» within the course of the English language taught as a second foreign language to the second-year students majoring in the oriental languages. The lesson focuses on enhancing topical vocabulary through practicing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. It also aims at developing students’ skills of reasoning and evaluative judgments. The given tasks are introduced in the plan in accordance with the principles of the contemporary communicative student-oriented approach to teaching foreign languages.

    The publication presents a detailed lesson plan on the topic “Every Generation is the Product of their Times” within “General course of Western European language” for the first-year students majoring in Oriental Philology. The lesson is aimed at enhancing English vocabulary on the topic, improving listening, speaking, and writing skills as well as at developing critical thinking in the first-year students majoring in Oriental philology.     The publication is a lesson plan on the topic “Dreams and Reality” within “General course of Western European language” for the second-year students majoring in Oriental Philology. The lesson is aimed at enhancing integrated English skills with a particular emphasis on speaking skills such as dialogical interaction, expressing opinion in a monologue and group discussion. Phonetic skills are enhanced through listening and reciting poetry.     The publication is a detailed lesson plan on the topic “The Power of Words” within the discipline “General course of Western European language”. Meant for the first-year students majoring in Oriental Philology, the course aims at developing English communicative competence through enhancing reading, listening, writing and speaking skills. All the exercises and the tasks suggested in this lesson meet the basic principles of communicative, student-centered approach to teaching foreign languages. The lesson focuses on interactional skills in the first-year students majoring in philology.  Публікація являє собою розробку розгорнутого плану-конспекту практичного заняття на тему “The Power of Words” з дисципліни «Загальний курс західноєвропейської мови» для студентів I курсу спеціальності «Східна філологія». Продемонстровані форми організації роботи студентів у межах комунікативно-діяльнісного та особистісно зорієнтованого навчання. Запропоновані вправи та завдання, що спрямовані на формування англомовної комунікативної компетентності у студентів-філологів першого року навчання.

    The article focuses on the Language Pedagogy research conducted at the Institute of Philology, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In particular, it gives an overview of the publications as well as the doctoral theses defended at the above-mentioned university within 2014-2019. The research areas cover from teaching classical languages at university to teaching Germanic languages or Translation at both secondary and tertiary schools. The variety of the topics discussed and research problems solved is a perfect indication of the necessity and urgency of Language Pedagogy in Ukraine.     The publication is a detailed lesson plan on the topic «Writing Paragraphs» within the course of the Academic and Formal Discourse taught to the fourth-year-students majoring in the oriental languages. The session aims at developing students’ skills of writing well-structured paragraphs as the prerequisite of producing more substantial academic papers. It also focuses on enhancing topical vocabulary related to the concept of time. The tasks are introduced in the plan in accordance with the principles of the contemporary communicative student-oriented approach to teaching foreign languages. Ця публікація представляє розгорнутий план конспект заняття для студентів-бакалаврів четвертого року навчання, які спеціалізуються на вивченні східних мов. Метою заняття є ефективне опанування студентами навичок написання параграфа, як структурного елемента академічних текстів навчального та наукового характеру, на основі лексичного матеріалу до теми «Сприйняття часу в різних культурах». Сплановане заняття повністю відповідає сучасним вимогам до студентоорієнтованого навчання у закладах вищої освіти.

    The article presents a review of an ESP book targeted at the students majoring in Education. It focuses on the project work skills of the secondary school language teachers. In the educational context, project work fosters creativity in teachers and students, develops critical thinking, builds teamwork as well as leadership skills, motivates independent learning and enhances communicative and organizational competencies. On the other hand, it involves hard work of a language teacher who designs and manages the project in addition to teaching the language.This manual can be beneficial for Philology majors as well as language teachers who are involved in project work or project-based learning. It provides material for teaching project activities, language-training and profession-oriented tasks to improve the teaching skills, assessment scheme as well as advice from the authors and their colleagues who have experience in participating in project-based learning or international educational projects.  О.     This publication is a detailed lesson plan on the topic “Power and Money” within the course of the English language taught as the second foreign language to the first-year students majoring in the oriental languages. The lesson focuses on enhancing topical vocabulary through practicing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. It also aims at developing students’ skills of reasoning and evaluative judgment. The tasks are introduced in the plan in accordance with the principles of the contemporary communicative student-oriented approach to teaching foreign languages. Key words: foreign language teaching, lesson plan, vocabulary enhancement, language skills. Ця публікація представляє розгорнутий план конспект заняття для студентів першого року навчання, які спеціалізуються на вивченні східних мов. Метою заняття є ефективне опанування студента ми лексичного матеріалу до теми “Влада та гроші”, поряд з розвитком навичок мовленнєвої діяльності та логічного мислення.     The publication is a lesson plan on the topic “Dreams and Reality” within “General course of Western European language” for the second-year students majoring in Oriental Philology. The lesson is aimed at enhancing integrated English skills with a particular emphasis on speaking skills such as dialogical interaction, expressing opinion in a monologue and group discussion.     The article focuses on the Language Pedagogy research conducted at the Institute of Philology, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.     The publication is a detailed lesson plan on the topic «Writing Paragraphs» within the course of the Academic and Formal Discourse taught to the fourth-year-students majoring in the oriental languages. The session aims at developing students’ skills of writing well-structured paragraphs as the prerequisite of producing more substantial academic papers. It also focuses on enhancing topical vocabulary related to the concept of time. The tasks are introduced in the plan in accordance with the principles of the contemporary communicative student-oriented approach to teaching foreign languages. Ця публікація представляє розгорнутий план конспект заняття для студентів-бакалаврів четвертого року навчання, які спеціалізуються на вивченні східних мов. Метою заняття є ефективне опанування студентами навичок написання параграфа, як структурного елемента академічних текстів навчального та наукового характеру, на основі лексичного матеріалу до теми «Сприйняття часу в різних культурах». Сплановане заняття повністю відповідає сучасним вимогам до студентоорієнтованого навчання у закладах вищої освіти.
