This research seeks to answer the following questions: What are the contributions of green infrastructure in the reduction of the urban heat island in the Central Polygon of the National District? What are the strategies for adaptation to climate change, including contributions to the regulations of green infrastructure for urban trees in the Central Industrial Estate of the National District? What is the economic value of the ecosystem services of urban trees for the families of the Polígono Central? The urban heat island (UHI) and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) are phenomena that affect the temperature and quality of life of city residents. Studies show that urban trees can be used as a tool to mitigate these phenomena. The research proposes methodological strategies that evaluate urban trees, determine adaptation measures to climate change through green infrastructure, evaluate strategies for the regulation of urban trees in the National District and its assessment. In addition, consultations with experts, training of professionals (RAUDO, ADRU AND RIADRU) and scientific publications in indexed journals will be carried out. The results provide elements for the establishment of public policies that contribute to the National Development Strategy, the National Climate Change Policy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Keywords: urban heat island, adaptation to climate change, green infrastructure, thermal comfort, radiant temperature, economic value of urban trees.
