In the current exiting information era the Public Libraries can play a significant social, cultural and economic role. However, the improvement of the quality of the information services provided as well as their services augmentation is a necessary prerequisite. Over the last five years in Greece, a coherent set of quality indicators and standards have been recognized and followed annually for the Academic Libraries. At the same time, LISIM is a specially designed model for self–assessment in Public Libraries which has been distinguished in the literature as well as in the library practices. The employment of the experience gained by the MOPAB project and the LISIM may both provide a pathway for Public Library quality assessment in Greece.

Scientific communication should include nowadays the construction of a branding image that promotes scientific works further than in traditional methods (books, magazines, conferences…). Investigators must compete in an environment with different dimensions. They have to publish in indexed magazines, attempt a patent, educate in a postgraduate level, etc. But also, for example, participate in public forums like conferences, congress or digital networking. That means further than promoting our contents only for a branding image, that we also have to manage our online reputation, pick a type of profile, the broadcast media we are going to be in, which is going to be my identification tone in those profiles or the target of each one of them, guide strategically the promotion activities of our digital identity and in focus about how give away only the right and necessary information: quality against quantity and personalized services against to only replicate content.

The article defends there is no valid methodology in the studies about industrial Archaeology or Industrial Patrimony – gaining importance for the last years – without the use of those record sources offered by the company archives, an which replace industrial remains into their historical context. As an example the methodology for the stydy of the history of Pozo Ibarra (1930-1996) through the records of the Vasco-Leonesa Coal Mine Archive, located in La Robla (León), in several record series, as Company reports, Minute books, Pictures or Correspondence, is proposed. The article analyzes two aspects that center the activity and the sense of the company archives: the cultural aspect, like members of the corporative memory of the organization, and the administrative aspect, like axes of the documentary management within the companies.
