2017yCat..17929031L - publié 2014ApJ...792L..31L; Shortly after the detection of 55 Cnc e's transit was announced, we requested four spectroscopic time series on HARPS (Prog. ID 288.C-5010; PI: Triaud) as Director Discretionary Time. HARPS is installed on the 3.6 m telescope at the European Southern Observatory on La Silla, Chile (Mayor et al. 2003Msngr.114...20M). The position of 55 Cnc in the sky-RA(J2000)=08:52:35.81, DE(J2000)=+28:10:50.95-is low as seen from La Silla. The target remains at a zenith distance of z<2 for only ~2.5 hr per night, with a transit duration of about 1.5 hr having to fit within this tight window. This constraint on the airmass, essential to obtain precise radial velocities (RVs), is set by the instrumental atmospheric dispersion corrector. We used the ephemeris by Gillon et al. (2012, J/A+A/539/A28), then at an advanced stage of preparation, to schedule our observations. In total, we gathered 179 spectra on the nights starting on 2012 January 27, 2012 February 13, 2012 February 27, and 2012 March 15 UT.

For the nine clusters within 250pc we determined optimised parallaxes based on the combined information extracted from the measured parallax and proper motion values. These clusters are : in Tables A1a & A3: alphaPer, Blanco1, ComaBer, Hyades, IC2391, IC2602, NGC2451A, Pleiades, Praesepe. Detailed technical report; A solution to a benchmark problem for a three-dimensional mixed convection flow in a horizontal rectangular channel heated from below and cooled from above (Poiseuille-Rayleigh-Bénard flow) is proposed. This flow is a steady thermoconvective longitudinal roll flow in a large aspect ratio channel at moderate Reynolds and Rayleigh numbers (Re=50, Ra=5000) and Prandtl number Pr=0.7. The model is based on the Navier-Stokes equations with Boussinesq approximation. We propose a reference solution resulting from computations on large grids, Richardson extrapolation (RE) and cubic spline interpolations. The solutions obtained with finite difference, finite volume and finite element codes are in good agreement and reference values for the flow fields and the heat and momentum fluxes are given up to 4 to 5 significant digits. Some difficulties in the use of RE are highlighted due to the use of mixed Dirichlet and Neumann thermal boundary conditions on the same wall. The observed convergence orders of the numerical methods with RE are then discussed from the viewpoint of this singularity. A correction to the Taylor expansion involved in the RE formalism is proposed to take into account the singularity and to explain the majority of the RE behaviors observed. The results of the present study are published in two papers in Numerical Heat Transfer, Part B [1, 2].

En ligne sur http://www.cliometrie.org/images/wp/AFC_WP_03-2013.pdf; Working papers de l'Association française de cliométrie, n°3, 2013; International audience; The aim of this paper is to propose a new database allowing a comparative evaluation of the relative performance of schooling systems around the world. We measure this performance through pupils achievement in standardized tests. We merge all existing regional and international student achievement tests by using a specific methodology. Compared to other existing databases, our approach innovates on several ways, especially by including regional student achievement tests and intertemporal comparable indicators. We provide a dataset of indicators of quality of student achievement (IQSA) for 103 countries/areas in primary education and 111 countries/areas in secondary education between 1965 and 2010

The main objective of the present communication was to determine the consequences of such a complex thermo-photo-oxidation process in a polyethylene-carbon black sheath, stabilised with a classical synergetic antioxidant mixture (Irganox 1010 + Irgafos 168), after natural ageing during a quarter of century in two distinct sunshine conditions: in a presence and absence of sun (dark location).

il s'agit d'un type de produit dont les métadonnées ne correspondent pas aux métadonnées attendues dans les autres types de produit : SOFTWARE; EggLib is a C++/Python library and program package for evolutionary genetics and genomics. Main features aresequence data management, sequence polymorphism analysis, coalescent simulations and Approximate BayesianComputation. EggLib is a flexible Python module with a performant underlying C++ library (which can be usedindependently), and allows fast and intuitive development of Python programs and scripts. A number of preprogrammedapplications of EggLib possibilities are available interactively. To get an idea of the possibilitiesoffered by EggLib, see the Manual section.
