    Magnons in antiferromagnetic insulators couple strongly to conduction electrons in adjacent metals. We show that this interfacial tie can lead to superconductivity in a trilayer consisting of a metal sandwiched between two antiferromagnetic insulators. The strength of the induced electron-electron coupling, and consequently the critical temperature, strongly increases with increasing interface exchange coupling. For a fixed electron-electron coupling strength, the critical temperature is proportional to the magnon gap, a natural energy scale. However, the magnon gap also enters in the coupling strength, so that in the weak coupling limit, an enhancement of the magnon gap reduces the critical temperature. We estimate the critical temperature in MnF2-Au-MnF2 to be on the order of 1 K. Umklapp scattering at metal-antiferromagnet interfaces leads to d-wave pairing, in contrast to p-wave superconductivity mediated by magnons in ferromagnets.

    Chromium (II) fluoroperovskites A CrF 3 ( A = Na + , K + ) are strongly correlated Jahn-Teller active materials at low temperatures. In this paper, we examine the role that the A -site ion plays in this family of fluoroperovskites using both experimental methods (x-ray diffraction, optical absorption spectroscopy, and magnetic fields) and density functional theory simulations. Temperature-dependent optical absorption experiments show that the spin-allowed transitions E 2 and E 3 only merge completely for A = Na at 2 K. Field-dependent optical absorption measurements at 2 K show that the oscillating strength of the spin-allowed transitions in NaCrF 3 increases with increasing applied field. Direct magneto-optical correlations suppress the spin-flip transitions for KCrF 3 below its Néel temperature. In NaCrF 3 the spin-flip transitions vanish abruptly below 9 K revealing magneto-optical correlations possibly linked to crystal structure changes. This suggests that as the long range ordering is reduced, local Jahn-Teller effects in the individual CrF 4 − 6 octahedra take control of the observed behavior. Our results show clear deviation from the pattern found for the isoelectronic A x MnF 3 + x system. The size of the A -site cation is shown to be central in dictating the physical properties and phase transitions in A CrF 3 , opening up the possibility of varying the composition to create novel states of matter with tunable properties.

    Eine rapide Erwärmung des alpinen Raums steht im Zusammenhang mit einer Ausbreitung und Verdichtung von verholzender Vegetation. Diese in Satellitenbildern dokumentierte Zunahme der Strauchbiomasse konnte in Teilen mit einer Erhöhung von Sommertemperaturen in Verbindung gebracht werden. Durch die Expansion von Sträuchern könnte der Energiehaushalt der Ökosysteme durch die Verminderung der Albedo und Zunahme der oberirdischen Biomasse in seiner Dynamik modifiziert werden, so dass letztlich auch Wasser, Kohlenstoff und Nährstoffflüsse verändert werden. Sowohl laubwerfende als auch immergrüne Sträucher expandieren, haben aber hinsichtlich ihrer Streuqualität und -zersetzbarkeit, Mykorrhizabelegung sowie Anfälligkeit gegenüber Beweidung unterschiedliche Eigenschaften und bedingen somit unterschiedliche Folgen für die Ökosysteme und ggf. auch gegensätzliche Rückkopplungen auf die Klimaerwärmung. Die Bodenfeuchte mag wachstumsspezifische Effekte sommerlicher Temperaturerhöhung überlagern, aber extreme winterliche Erwärmung in Verbindung mit Schneeauf-Eis-Effekten, früheren Aperterminen und häufigeren Spätfrösten können zur Schädigung von Sträuchern beitragen und so ihre weitere Expansion erheblich einschränken. Die komplexen Mechanismen hinter diesen biogeographischen Musterveränderungen sind bislang nur ansatzweise geklärt. Es mangelt an Studien zur Aufklärung von Fragen der klimatisch-getriebenen Neuansiedlung von Sträuchern und ihrer mikroklimatischen Wachstumssteuerung insb. im Zusammenhang mit topographisch bedingten Schneedeckenunterschieden. Effects of climate change on shrub growth in high mountains: With the rapid warming of the alpine zone shrub growth has increased and shrubs have expanded. Satellite proxies for vegetation biomass have shown greening trends in recent decades over large parts of the tundra biome, which have been linked to shrub growth chronologies, and summer temperatures in some areas. As shrubs are expanding both north- and upwards and are infilling from their present locations, energy, e.g. through a decrease in albedo, and mass dynamics are changed, with possible drastic feedbacks to climate and ecosystem processes. Both deciduous and evergreen species have been expanding, which may have partly opposite consequences regarding feedbacks as they differ in their litter quality, reduction by herbivory, and associated mycorrhizal fungi. Summer warming is most likely the main driver of shrub growth, but this may be controlled by soil moisture availability. Extreme winter warming and associated rain-on-snow events, as well as late frost events after earlier snow-free dates may limit shrub expansion.     Статья посвящена рассмотрению различных стратегий развития региональных медиа в цифровой среде. Автор дает комплексную оценку результатов работы государственных районных газет в интернете. Показана эффективность региональных медиа как стратегического ресурса местной власти. Выявлены новые форматы журналистской продукции и формы взаимодействия СМИ с аудиторией. Особое внимание уделяется нарастающей тенденции к просмотру новостей на мобильных устройствах, увеличению доли визуального контента в онлайн-медиа. Делается вывод о необходимости трансформации содержательно-тематической модели региональных медиа в контексте реализации государственной информационной политики. Ключевые слова: цифровые технологии, мобильный интернет, медиапотребление, визуальный контент, интернет-коммуникации, региональные медиа. The article is devoted to the consideration of various strategies for the development of regional media in the digital environment. The author gives a comprehensive assessment of the results of the work of state district newspapers on the Internet. The effectiveness of regional media as a strategic resource of local authorities is shown. New formats of journalistic products and forms of interaction of the media with the audience are revealed. Special attention is paid to the growing trend towards viewing news on mobile devices, increasing the share of visual content in online media. The conclusion is made about the need to transform the content-thematic model of regional media in the context of implementation and the state information policy.
