Bryophytes (liverworts, mosses and hornworts) hold the basal most position among extant land plants. The present study deals with comparative analysis of available mitochondrial genomes of bryophytes using bioinformatics tools. These mitochondrial genomes belong to 2 liverworts, 1 moss and 2 hornworts. The analysis is based on multiple genome analysis through whole proteome comparison to detect conservation between mitochondrial genomes of bryophytes.

Based on the specimens present in Zoological Survey of India, (Jabalpur), the paper presents new distributional record of 12 species of Pleurostict Scarabaeidae, comprising eight species of Rutelinae, two species of Cetoniinae, one species each of Melolonthinae and Dynastinae from Arunachal Pradesh (India).

Background: The burden of obesity is rapidly increasing worldwide. Obesity is associated with wide range of diseases, including cardio respiratory disease such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and coronary heart disease. Aims: This study aimed to assess the awareness of the adolescents towards the causes, consequences and preventive measures of obesity. Methods: The present study was based on primary data. The study included 200 adolescents surveyed as per convenience sampling. The analysis was made with descriptive statistics and multivariate logistic regression. Results: The study identified that 64.0 percent of the respondents suffered from obesity at the time of survey. The logistic regression shows that obesity was associated with gender, age, education of the mother, income and eating habits of the breakfast. Thus, logistic regression clearly highlighted that obesity was associated with changing lifestyle. But, the awareness of the risk factors and the preventive measures of obesity was not clear among the adolescents. Conclusion: The present study provides sufficient evidence on the awareness of the causes, risk factors and preventive measures of obesity and calls for an immediate action to scale up cost-effective interventions for it both through private and public hospitals. Thus, study indicates a need for creating awareness among adolescents towards the consequences and preventive measures through mass media and campaigns at the schools.

The present study investigates the effect of sharp continuous falling crude oil prices on stock market indices of emerging economies like Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa and South Korea and also the relationship between crude oil prices and stock indices of these countries. The period of the study spans from July 2009 to January 2016. Multivariate cointegration techniques along with vector error correction mechanism, impulse response functions and multivariate CCC-GARCH model have been employed in the study. The long-run relationship has been empirically established between the variables only in Brazil and Russia, but, no such relationship has been found in case of other emerging economies. Except South Africa, stock indices of the other emerging economies adjust to changes in crude oil prices to correct short-run disequilibrium although, with varied speed of adjustment. CCC-GARCH estimation reveals the existence of volatility spillovers between crude oil prices and stock indices and convergence have been achieved for all the emerging economies.

The present paper includes information on intraspecific variability (ecological and morpho-anatomical) among 46 accessions of Conocephalum conicum (L.) Dumort. collected from diverse habitats in Bhaderwah (J & K state), India. The study revealed tremendous diversity in almost each studied character.

Dunns’ mud turtle Kinosternon dunni is recognized only from a few localities in the drainages of the San Juan, Baudó and Docampadó Rivers in Chocó, Colombia. We report on the occurrence of the species in three new localities in a different drainage, two in the Atrato River drainage, which flows into the Caribbean Sea, and a third locality in the Gulf of Urabá, in the Colombian Caribbean. These new records extend the range of the species approximately 367 km to the north of the closest previous confirmed record.

This paper is based on an analytical study of modes of occurrence of keywords devoted to the subject Fermi Liquid, which is a specific domain under the broad area of condensed matter physics. Eight quantitative indicators have been defined and developed here on the basis of some parameters associated with keywords and keyword clusters. At least three keywords with a common phrase have been defined as a keyword cluster in this study. The numerical values of the indicators have been calculated for 2562 keyword-clusters, 916 keyword-couples and 4329 single keywords in all, though only top 20 keywords/keyword clusters are selected in decreasing order of numerical values of each indicator for presenting in this paper. The keywords were extracted from titles and abstracts of 6371 research articles devoted to the subject Fermi Liquid, which were collected from the bibliographic database of INSPEC and COMPENDEX, over the time span of twenty years (1985-2004). In total, 67 keywords/keyword clusters are presented here, which appeared 160 times within top 20 ranks (8*20=160) against eight indicators. A keyword cluster consists of at least three keywords and 665 keywords as studied here. The keyword-couples consist of two keywords only. There is no question of forming any cluster by the single keywords. The variations of numerical values of all indicators with the rank of keyword/keyword clusters are shown graphically. The mathematical functions followed by each variational pattern are also discussed.

In my job I see many students who have not learned to write a technical paper. When they do competent work, I want them to be able to write passable reports. This article is for them. There are well established principles for citing the relevant work of others; for not copying things without giving credit; for not stealing. If a reader feels you have copied anything, a figure, even a phrase, from elsewhere without citing its source, then you are guilty of plagiarism in the eyes of that reader. Committing plagiarism is so bad that I cannot do justice to it here. So I merely say: never do it. On, then, to writing your own honest and original material. Art requires talent. In contrast, through discipline and persistence alone, you can learn how to differentiate functions and ride bicycles. Similarly, you can write a passable technical paper. You just have to realize that your job does not end with research. Writing a passable paper involves extra work.
