Abstract The processing of Norway spruce and European beech wood specimens by means of femtosecond laser pulses was investigated on conditioned natural samples as well as on samples coated with beeswax or a water-borne stain. Depending on laser pulse energies and processing times, this allowed for different modes of surface modification. At low laser intensities, an etching almost without thermal impact was detected, whereas higher laser intensities led to the generation of hierarchical micro and nanostructures. The usage of argon or atmospheric air as cover gases during the laser processing had only minor effects on the surface structures. Observed differences in the etching or functionalization of the wooden surfaces mostly originated in the chemical structure of the surface finish and the physical properties of the wood substrates, such as the density or moisture content. Obhájeno This diploma thesis focuses on the transformation of foreign policy of the United States of America during one of the largest domestic political crises in the history of USA. Richard Nixon's administration had to face published scandals that occurred during the presidential election, which became publicly known as the Watergate affair. The objective of the thesis is to analyse the impact of the political scandal on the formation of foreign policy. The author will search for answers to the questions as to whether other states took advantage of the temporary weaknesses on the domestic political scene and how the US foreign policy changed in various parts of the world, such as slowing down the détente process or how the policy in Indochina changed. The American President also plays an important role in the complex process of shaping American foreign policy, among other things, and thereby the thesis will also pay attention to Richard Nixon and his relationship with other constitutional authorities that also have influence on foreign policy. Part of the thesis will also include information on the attention that the President paid to foreign policy in crisis management. The thesis itself will be prepared on the basis of published sources and literature in Czech and English.

We report the crystallisation of three forms of copper(II) isonicotinate-N-oxide complex and their phase interconversion via solvent-mediated crystal to crystal transformation. The different forms of copper complex have been isolated and characterised by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Gel phase crystallisation performed in hydrogels, low molecular weight gels and gels of tailored gelator showed crystal habit modification. Crystallisation in aqueous ethanol resulted in concomitant formation of blue (form-I) and green (form-II/IV) crystals while use of low molecular weight gel results in selective crystallization of the blue form-I under identical conditions. Comparison of gel phase and the solution state crystallisation in various solvent compositions reveals that the blue form-I is the thermodynamically stable form under ambient conditions.

In this paper we report the first close, high‐resolution observations of downward‐directed terrestrial gamma‐ray flashes (TGFs) detected by the large‐area Telescope Array cosmic ray observatory, obtained in conjunction with broadband VHF interferometer and fast electric field change measurements of the parent discharge. The results show that the TGFs occur during strong initial breakdown pulses (IBPs) in the first few milliseconds of negative cloud‐to‐ground and low‐altitude intracloud flashes and that the IBPs are produced by a newly identified streamer‐based discharge process called fast negative breakdown. The observations indicate the relativistic runaway electron avalanches (RREAs) responsible for producing the TGFs are initiated by embedded spark‐like transient conducting events (TCEs) within the fast streamer system and potentially also by individual fast streamers themselves. The TCEs are inferred to be the cause of impulsive sub‐pulses that are characteristic features of classic IBP sferics. Additional development of the avalanches would be facilitated by the enhanced electric field ahead of the advancing front of the fast negative breakdown. In addition to showing the nature of IBPs and their enigmatic sub‐pulses, the observations also provide a possible explanation for the unsolved question of how the streamer to leader transition occurs during the initial negative breakdown, namely, as a result of strong currents flowing in the final stage of successive IBPs, extending backward through both the IBP itself and the negative streamer breakdown preceding the IBP.

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na téma Cosplay - identita, kultura, hybridizace, kmen. V teoretické části představuji koncept kmene, hybridizace, kultury a identity, a dále historii cosplaye v Japonsku, USA a České republice. Obhájeno This bachelor thesis is focused on Cosplay - identity, culture, hybridity, tribe. In the theoretical part of this work I introduce the concept of the tribe, hybridity, culture and identity. I also present the history of cosplay in Japan, in the USA and in the Czech Republic. The goal of this thesis is to describe the socialization of an individual to the cosplay tribe, what steps needs the cosplayer to go through in character creation and whether cosplay influence the cosplayer's identity. So I focused into two lines in this thesis. First line is devoted to the character selection, the process of identifying with the character and the potential impact on cosplayer's identity in his everyday life. The other line is about the entry and the socialization into the tribe among the cosplayers. The research is based on the participating observations and semi-structured interviews with ten cosplayers (five men and five women) participating the cons in the Czech Republic.

Family reading is an activity which has an important role in a child's emotional, cognitive, social and speaking development. It is a time when the child can relax around their loved ones and at the same time develop their storytelling abilities. It is very important that we set a good example for the child from an early age and create optimal situations in which the child learns and develops; meanwhile, we should encourage it to do so. In the theoretical part I have presented family reading, reading literacy and the characteristics of the child's storytelling. I have also explained the role that family reading has in the child's storytelling. In the empirical part I have also researched the importance of family reading in the child's storytelling. Through research it was questioned whether the difference of the storytelling abilities of those children who substantially read with their parents and those who scarcely read are large or negligible. I also tried to discover whether the level of coherence and the level of cohesiveness in children's stories are comparable. I have concluded that family reading undoubtedly has an important role in the child's storytelling. I also noticed differences in the structure of children's stories. Through analysis, I have discovered that the level of cohesiveness and the level of coherence in children's stories are comparable.

Set obsahuje kouřový detektor, PIR pohybový detektor, bezpečnostní sirénu, záplavový detektor, dveřní alarm a ovládací panel. Obhájeno Design of a set of security system. I tried to create a design, that should enrich the current market with visually appealing elements. The whole set is based on combination of matt material, contrasting with glossy, transparent pieces made of polycabonate. Set includes smoke, detector, PIR move detector, safety siren, flood detector, door alarm and a control panel.
