I in this study aim to investigate the connection between aesthetic expression in theatre and nonverbal communication among preschool children, grounded in Vygotsky's artefact and mediation theories. Theatre, with its rich visual and performative elements, serves as a medium for artistic expression and imaginative exploration. Within early childhood education, understanding how theatre influences children's nonverbal communication skills is essential for promoting children development and social interaction. Lev Vygotsky’s theories of artefacts and mediation provide a valuable framework for examining the role of theatre in children's socioemotional development. Artefacts, such as costumes, props, and stage settings, serve as cultural tools that scaffold children's learning and cognition. Theatre acts as a mediating artefact that facilitates children's exploration of emotions, roles, and relationships through dramatic play and performance. Theatre can provide an environment where children can experiment with these nonverbal communication skills in a supportive and creative context. I seek to elucidate how exposure to theatrical experiences impacts the nonverbal communication abilities of young children. By examining the perspectives of educators working closely with young children, this research aims to uncover nuanced understandings of how aesthetic experiences in theater contribute to the development and learning of preschoolers.

Halal tourism is a global and comprehensive market niche within the tourism industry that has increased significantly in recent years and is expected to continue doing so in the future. Many countries see the economic opportunities and want to claim their position on the market. The following study is the second one that has been performed in Sweden about halal tourism, whose purpose was to gather an understanding about the attitudes that people with leading roles within Swedish hotel operations have towards developing and marketing Sweden as a possible destination for halal tourism. An additional purpose of the following study has been to gather knowledge about their perceptions about applying modified versions of halal tourism: Muslim-Friendly and options. In order to reach a deeper understanding of the subject some theories on culture and values were applied. The methodological approach in the study has been a combination of quantitative and qualitative, consisting of a survey with open and closed questions which generated 62 survey answers, as well as five follow-up interviews. The main result showed that the respondents had low knowledge about the issue and remained generally negative towards development of a complete halal or Muslim-Friendly concept in their hotels. The concepts consist of detailed requirements that are challenging to follow, and the result shows that most of the respondents believe that parts of it clash with Swedish values about equality. But as the result indicates, a vast majority of the respondents are more positive to the concept of options.

This thesis will examine and evaluate how post-colonial and universal key concepts reflects on The Universal Declaration of Human rights, the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights, and the ASEAN Declaration on Human Rights in order to provide diverse understandings of the concept of rights. The purpose of the study is to examine and evaluate how some of the key concepts of post-colonialism and universalism are reflected in these three declarations. The research questions is “How do post-colonial and universal key concepts reflect on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights, and the ASEAN Declaration on Human Rights?”. Through a qualitative content analysis on these three declaration, the study will employ the ideal type method to outline the ideal types of post-colonialism and universalism and then apply the three declarations on these the ideal and key concepts. According to my findings, some key concepts of post-colonialism and universalism are explicitly and implicitly reflected in the declarations, some more heavily than others. While some of the concepts are shared across all three declarations, they differ in others. The African charter and ASEAN declaration tend to be more post-colonial in its approach while the Universal declaration of human rights takes a more universalistic stance. Human rights play a significant geopolitical role. In its name, it has acted as a uniting force, not least with the Universal declaration of human rights. However, ironically, it has also served as justification for war, invasions and other crimes against humanity. As much as this thesis is about human rights, it is also about colonialism, moral doctrine, cultures and the question about who to define these concepts. I hope that this thesis gives the reader a better understanding of human rights in a more pluralistic sense. I do also hope that this can help us increase our tolerance towards each other as humans and bring us closer to a more consensus in how we understand rights.

The research in this paper explores how preschool staff handles and deals with conflicts within preschool. My aim is to highlight their methods of conflict management, how it relates to their role within the preschool, and how their personal experiences and personality can be seen as an asset for their work with their colleagues and with the children. This qualitative study is based on a social constructivist and phenomenography perspective. Where I conducted several in person interviews with different staff at a preschool, to get and overview of their individual roles and contributions to the preschool. Through my interviews I got an overview perspective on how their personal experience and personality effects their line of work and how it can help them not only to care for the children but handle situations such as conflict management.

This article is the introduction to the book "The Cold War through music-making in the GDR: political goals, aesthetic paradoxes, and the case of neutral Sweden". This introduction provides an insight into the political and musical situation in the GDR; it discusses terms that are fundamental to the entire book, such as cultural diplomacy, romanticism, classicism, cultural heritage, socialist realism and formalism, and it gives a short introduction to the political and musical relations between the GDR and Sweden. The individual contributions to the book are also briefly introduced.

AbstractThousands of Roma were killed in Ukraine by the Nazis and auxiliary police on the spot. There are more than 50,000 Roma in today’s Ukraine, represented by second and third generation decendants of the genocide survivors. The discussion on Roma identity cannot be isolated from the memory of the genocide, which makes the struggle over the past a reflexive landmark that mobilizes the Roma movement. About twenty Roma genocide memorials have been erected in Ukraine during last decade, and in 2016 the national memorial of the Roma genocide was opened in Babi Yar. However, scholars do not have a clear picture of memory narratives and memory practices of the Roma genocide in Ukraine. A comprehensive analysis of the contemporary situation is not possible without an examination of the history and memory of the Roma genocide before 1991.
