description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Research 2022 EnglishZenodo Baltruks, Dorothea; Gepp, Sophie; Van de Pas, Remco; Voss, Maike; Wabnitz, Katharina; To address the urgent planetary crises and to ensure the planet’s habitability for future generations, planetary health needs to be anchored as a vision in all policies at national and international levels. Experiences and lessons learned from other policy fields and other countries can be considered in strengthening prevention of and preparedness for planetary crises and their health risks. To do so, we need to answer some urgent questions: 1) how can regulatory frameworks, structures, institutions, and incentives be adapted to make health within planetary boundaries the core goal of a comprehensive prevention policy and a public welfare-oriented care economy? 2) what role do conflicting goals and interests play in this context? 3) how can health equity and environmental justice be integrated into (health) policy decisions? 4) what forms of science communication, translation and generation are needed to accelerate the transformation towards health within planetary boundaries effectively?

In his Books on Agriculture, Varro shows that the Roman seasons started on the Cross Quarter-days instead than on the Quarter-days of the year as it happens today. Besides the classic subdivision in four parts, in the Books on Agriculture we can also find the year divided into eight parts, that is eight seasons having quite different lengths. In our discussion of Varro's seasons we will compare the days he mentions for the separation of seasons to the Cross Quarter- and Quarter-days that we find in Celtic calendars.

The following white paper describes policies and architecture of an authentication and authorization infrastructure (AAI) agreed by PRACE-6IP partners. In 2019, PRACE-6IP WP6 was tasked to define a plan for more user-friendly and forward-looking services for the future. PRACE AAI was one of the results of this activity and a first pilot and a demo were released in May 2022 (section “Architecture and Pilot”). The aim was to provide user-friendly access to PRACE services. This document describes the agreed policies to release the service. Additionally, the document describes the policies about how to provide a trustable PRACE IdP (Identity Provider) to PRACE users to facilitate the access to non-PRACE services. The work has been done in collaboration with Fenix, and this document has been partially inspired by work done in the ICEI project, and by the AARC Blueprint Architecture.

The phonetic priming paradigm provides a tool to investigate how lower-level acoustic-phonetic information is used to access lexical representations in spoken word recognition. The present results suggest that phonetic features rather than segments are active in lexical access. In future experiments, we hope to test this claim in more detail by systematically varying the acoustic-phonetic overlap between prime and target segments. Such manipulations will enable us to investigate the role of fine-grained acoustic-phonetic information (for example, coarticulatory cues or allophonic information) in lexical access processes. For further information contact us at helpdesk@openaire.eudescription Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Research 2020 EnglishZenodo Authors: Sartor, Giovanni;Sartor, Giovanni;A logical model for arguments dealing with statutory interpretation will be here provided. The basic assumption is that interpretive arguments can be viewed as defeasible inferences: they support their conclusion, but this support is merely presumptive, since it may be challenged by counterarguments. First a general pattern is introduced for representing arguments dealing with statutory interpretation. It is shown how interpretive arguments may be defeated by counterarguments, and how arguments and counterarguments may participate in larger argumentative interactions, where defeated arguments are reinstated when their defeaters are in turn defeated. The idea is then developed of an interpretive argumentation basis, i.e., of a given set of interpretive canons and premises that can be used to build, or attack, interpretive arguments. The corresponding interpretive argumentation framework is considered, which includes the set of all interpretive arguments that can be constructed using the resources in the interpretive basis. Finally, a determination is made as to what claims are possibly (defensibly) or necessarily (justifiably) supported by a given interpretive framework.
