    Authors: Kaur Vonna-Michell, Diana;

    This thesis examines contemporary artistic practices, gauging the role played by Conceptual art in shaping artist subjectivity and manifesting it in discourse. This process is understood as the relationship between three parameters: the social context of contemporary art, creativity specific to an artist's practice, and the relationship an artist has to themselves. The theoretical framework is tailored to analyse how artists produce subjectivities and how their practices generate specific forms of knowledge, or Ethopoetics. By tracing these parameters, this study interprets the situated singularity of the Finland-Swedish artist J.O. Mallander (b. 1944). Introducing the term the Artist-Subjectivation Process, a concept modified from Michel Foucault’s later thinking, the aim is to study the emergence of subjectivity in art discourse and art making. The expanded theoretical, methodological, and contextual framework is the result of this investigation and, therefore, also forms part of the study’s outcome, making this dissertation a twofold endeavour. The study traces artistic practices, strategies, and attitudes that constitute the Artist-Subjectivation Process through close reading of previously unresearched Swedish and Finnish archival sources. Shedding light on a period, an art phenomenon and an exchange that has not yet been sufficiently researched, it concludes that Mallander, through his creative practice, forged ways of being an artist through art networking, art enabling, spiritual art exploration, and the archiving of materials and memories. By systematising and challenging an artist-centred view of art, this thesis explores a new way to understand the creative process in an artist’s life and the fundamental questions of becoming an artist.

    Authors: Hörauf, Georg;

    The following study serves to develop consciousness about the smaller, not very well-known,emigration from the two southern Swedish cities of Växjö and Kalmar, which are situated inthe province of Småland, to Germany between 1865 and 1914. By using the digital archive ofEmiWeb, the gender, age and marital status of the emigrants have been analyzed and theyhave been categorized into three different social classes depending on the title or occupationthey had at the time of emigration. Furthermore, the results of the research of the two citieshave been compared with each other which resulted in a lot of similarities between the citieswhere the greatest part of the emigrants were between the ages of 20 and 29, unmarried, andpart of the working class. Overall, every age group was represented which also includedindividuals over the age of 50 and children between the ages of 0 and 9. Members of themiddle class and bourgeoisie were also present but to a lesser extent. Concerning the gender among the emigrants, the results of this study show that the proportion of women is greaterthan that of men, foremost in the first of the five periods in which this study is divided. Altogether this study provides a deeper insight and understanding of which people emigratedto Germany. However, the number of unregistered emigrants hinders the capacity to present areliable and comprehensive generalization about them.

    This thesis explores the potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) to assist in the technical documentation process at Saab. With the increasing complexity and regulatory demands on such documentation, the objective is to investigate advanced natural language processing techniques as a means of streamlining the creation of technical documentation. Although many standards exist, this thesis particularly focuses on the standard ASD-STE100, Simplified Technical English abbrv. STE, a controlled language for technical documentation. STE's primary aim is to ensure that technical documents are understandable to individuals regardless of their native language or English proficiency. The study focuses on the implementation of Direct Preference Optimization (DPO) and Supervised Instruction Fine-Tuning (SIFT) to refine the capabilities of LLMs in producing clear and concise outputs that comply with STE. Through a series of experiments, we investigate the effectiveness of LLMs in interpreting and simplifying technical language, with a particular emphasis on adherence to STE standards. The study utilizes a dataset comprised of target data paired with synthetic source data generated by a LLM. We apply various model training strategies, including zero-shot performance, supervised instruction fine-tuning, and direct preference optimization. We evaluate the various models' output using established quantitative metrics for text simplification and substitute human evaluators with company internal software for evaluating adherence to company standards and STE. Our findings suggest that while LLMs can significantly contribute to the technical writing process, the choice of training methods and the quality of data play crucial roles in the model's performance. This study shows how LLMs can improve productivity and reduce manual work. It also looks at the problems and suggests ways to make technical documentation automation better in the future.

    Authors: Cunha, Katiane Tavares da Silva;

    A presente dissertação tem como objetivo primordial a análise da trajetória de vida de Maria Amabini de Moraes (esposa do Senador Hermenegildo Lopes de Moraes) e suas contribuições para o desenvolvimento educacional, cultural e social, no município de Morrinhos e sul de Goiás entre os anos de 1925 e 1960. Período em que a cidade era um importante centro político, econômico e cultural com destaque na educação devido aos Ginásios Senador Hermenegildo de Moraes e D. Maria Amabini de Moraes, instituições de ensino que foram construídos por Maria Amabini durante a década de 1930 e 1940. Para tanto, além de fontes documentais, foram aplicados questionários aos professores e funcionários do Ginásio Senador Hermenegildo de Moraes, para atestar o conhecimento dos mesmos sobre Maria Amabini e entrevistas com pessoas que tiveram contato direto com Maria Amabini, que ficou popularmente conhecida como Dona Fiica e que foi atestada o reconhecimento da sua importância na história e desenvolvimento da cidade e região. A pesquisa revelou que, apesar da sua importância, com o passar dos anos a memória desta importante personalidade feminina e suas ações em prol da educação, cultura e no social tem caído no esquecimento, permanecendo apenas, na memória de poucas pessoas ainda vivas que tiveram contado direto ou indireto com ela.O que leva a refletir, também, sobre as definições de memória e do esquecimento, bem como a análise dos fatores históricos e culturais de uma sociedade patriarcal que procuram manter o papel das mulheres sempre à margem da História colocando-as na condição de figurantes e, não necessariamente, de personalidades do processo histórico. The main objective of this dissertation is to analyze the life trajectory of Maria Amabini de Moraes (wife of Senator Hermenegildo Lopes de Moraes) and her contributions to educational, cultural and social development, in the municipality of Morrinhos and southern Goiás between the years 1925 and 1960. Period in which the city was an important political, economic and cultural center with emphasis on education due to the Gymnasiums Senador Hermenegildo de Moraes and D. Maria Amabini de Moraes, educational institutions that were built by Maria Amabini during the 1930s and 1940s. To this end, in addition to documentary sources, questionnaires were applied to the teachers and functions of the Senator Hermenegildo de Moraes Gymnasium, to attest their knowledge about Maria Amabini and enntrevistas with people who had direct contact with Maria Amabini, who became popularly known as Dona Fiica and who was attested to the recognition of its importance inthe history and development of the city and region. The research revealed that, despite its importance, over the years the memory of this important female personality and its actions for education, culture and social has fallen into oblivion, remaining only, in the memory of few people still alive who had counted directly or indirandto with it. This also leads to reflecting on the definitions of memory and forgetfulness, as well as the analysis of the historical and cultural factors of a patriarchal society that seek to keep the role of women always on the margins of history by placing them in the condition of extras and, not necessarily, personalities of the historical process.

    Den som vill genomföra ett arbetsföretag som innebär att fornlämningar tas bort eller skadas har i normalfallet kostnadsansvaret för de arkeologiska utredningar och förundersökningar som behöver utföras. Företagarens kostnadsansvar utgår från kulturmiljölagens (KML) syfte att bevara fornlämningar, och varje tillstånd till borttagande innebär ett undantag från bevarandet. Principen bygger på att den som skadar allmänna värden får stå för kostnaden för de åtgärder som behövs.

    Authors: Öhrn, Jonas;

    Den 21a december 2023 fattade regeringen beslutet att tillsätta en kommitté med uppdraget att utforma en svensk kulturkanon. Innehållet i denna svenska kulturkanon kommer att presenteras för Kulturdepartementet år 2025. Syftet med kulturkanonen är att göra svensk kultur mer tillgänglig för flera. Den planeras att fungera som ett verktyg för kunskapsförmedling, gemenskap och inkludering. Dessutom förväntas den bidra till att etablera gemensamma referensramar för det svenska samhället. Samtidigt som regeringen satsar på att utveckla en svensk kulturkanon, har det skett nedskärningar i kulturbudgeten. Faktum är att budgeten för kultur idag, år 2024, är lägre än den har varit på över 20 år. År 1974 introducerades en modern svensk kulturpolitik med tydligt definierade kulturpolitiska mål. Denna nya politik presenterades i kulturpropositionen efter en utredning av kulturrådet. Tillsammans med detta kom en fördelning av ansvar för kulturen mellan staten, regionerna och kommunerna. En betydande del av ansvaret lades på kommunerna, som fick i uppgift att förankra de kulturpolitiska målen på lokal nivå. De kulturpolitiska målen har uppdaterats, med mindre tillägg och variationer senast var 2009 med regeringens proposition 2009/10:3 ”Tid för kultur”. Idag har kommunerna fortsatt ett betydande ansvar när det kommer till fördelningen och uppföljningen av kulturbudgeten och dess mål. Kommunerna står för nästan lika mycket av kulturutgifterna som staten. Så har det varit under de senaste tio åren, förutom vissa undantag under pandemin då vissa statliga stöd har varit nödvändiga. Frågor kring kulturpolitik är mer aktuell än någonsin idag. Regeringen diskuterar vilken typ av kultur som ska prioriteras och vilka budgetanslag som ska beviljas samtidigt som kommunerna är fortsatt betydelsefulla aktörer inom kulturpolitiken. Men hur har det sett ut historiskt? Hur såg kommunerna beslut ut kring kultur innan statens kulturproposition år 1974?

    Authors: Lavrič, Jan;

    The thesis Stadium without an audience: from Plečnik's vision to its demise explores the meaning and role of cultural heritage, focusing on Plečnik's stadium in Ljubljana. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, the thesis first discusses the broader context of cultural heritage protection and examples of successful revitalisations of abandoned urban spaces. This is followed by a detailed analysis of the Plečnik Stadium, including its architectural features, history, symbolism and current state. In the practical part, the author uses experimental film as a research tool to study the stadium. The film depicts the current ambience and decay of the stadium through a visual narrative, while raising questions about the importance of its preservation and possible revitalisation. Diplomsko delo Stadion brez publike: od Plečnikove vizije do propada raziskuje pomen in vlogo kulturne dediščine, pri čemer se osredotoča na Plečnikov stadion v Ljubljani. Delo je razdeljeno na teoretični in praktični del. V teoretičnem delu naloga najprej obravnava širši kontekst varovanja kulturne dediščine ter primere uspešnih revitalizacij zapuščenih urbanih prostorov. Sledi podrobna analiza Plečnikovega stadiona, vključno z njegovimi arhitekturnimi značilnostmi, zgodovino, simboliko in trenutnim stanjem. V praktičnem delu avtor uporabi eksperimentalni film kot raziskovalno orodje za preučevanje stadiona.     Authors: Kodrič, Jošt;

    The Ljubljansko Barje is an extensive flatland with occasional elevated areas in the far southern part of the Ljubljana Plain. The area has been the subject of numerous studies in the past, where researchers have explored its geological and archaeological history. During the investigation of the area, theories emerged about its past lacustrine phase, which is believed to have lasted from the end of the Pleistocene to the middle Holocene, due to the sediments found there. The purpose of this study is to confirm the existence of a lake in the Ljubljansko Barje area and to determine the dynamics of its existence. The research was conducted based on an analysis of scientific literature on coastal geomorphological systems, literature on the Ljubljansko Barje, archaeological sites within it, and Lake Ljubljana, as well as a geomorphological analysis of identified forms within the coastal geomorphological system, and an examination of the dynamics of Lake Ljubljana's existence and its shrinkage. In the course of the geomorphological analysis, we first identified the geomorphological forms of the coastal geomorphological system, initially based on LIDAR data and later through field surveys. These forms were then systematically described, and their morphogenesis was explained based on their distribution and lithology. In the geomorphological analysis, we identified eight specific geomorphological forms: cliffs, abrasion platforms, spits, tombolos, deltas, lagoons, beach ridges, and remnants of aggradational shores, which we classified morphogenetically into two groups based on the dominant formation process: aggradational and denudational. We then determined four elevations of Lake Ljubljana's water level based on geomorphological and archaeological data, thus defining the dynamics of Lake Ljubljana's shrinkage. The lake had its greatest extent at the end of the Pleistocene, and it completely dried up between 4,000 BP and 3,500 BP. Ljubljansko barje je obširna uravnava s posameznimi dvignjenimi deli na skrajnem jugu Ljubljanskega polja. Območje je v preteklosti bilo deležno velikega števila raziskav, v sklopu katerih so avtorji preučevali njegovo geološko in arheološko zgodovino. Tekom preučevanja območja so se zaradi sedimentov, ki se na njem pojavljajo izoblikovale teze o njegovi pretekli ojezeritvi, ki naj bi trajala od konca pleistocena, do srednjega holocena. Namen naloge je potrditi obstoj jezera na območju Ljubljanskega barja in določiti dinamiko njegovega obstoja. Raziskava je bila izvedena na podlagi analize znanstvene literature na temo obalnih geomorfnih sistemov, analize literature na temo Ljubljanskega barja, arheoloških najdiščih na njem ter Ljubljanskega jezera, geomorfološke analize identificiranih oblik obalnega geomorfnega sistema, ter preučitve dinamike obstoja Ljubljanskega jezera in njegovega krčenja. V sklopu geomorfološke analize smo najprej identificirali geomorfološke oblike obalnega geomorfnega sistema, najprej na podlagi lidarskih podatkov ter nato s terenskim pregledom, ki smo jih nato sistematično opisali ter na podlagi njihove razporeditve in litologije opisali njihovo morfogenezo. V sklopu geomorfološke analize smo identificirali osem specifičnih geomorfnih oblik: klife, abrazijske police, roglje, tombole, delte, zatoke, obalne kose, ter ostanke agradacijskih obal, ki smo jih morfogenetsko razdelili v dve skupini, glede na prevladujoč proces formacije: agradacijske in denudacijske. Nato smo na podlagi geomorfoloških in arheoloških podatkov določili štiri nadmorske višine gladine Ljubljanskega jezera in tako definirali dinamiko krčenja Ljubljanskega jezera, ki je imelo največji obseg od koncu pleistocena, v celoti pa presahnilo med 4.000BP in 3.500BP.

    Authors: Hörauf, Georg;

    Authors: Cunha, Katiane Tavares da Silva;

    Authors: Öhrn, Jonas;

    Den 21a december 2023 fattade regeringen beslutet att tillsätta en kommitté med uppdraget att utforma en svensk kulturkanon. Innehållet i denna svenska kulturkanon kommer att presenteras för Kulturdepartementet år 2025. Syftet med kulturkanonen är att göra svensk kultur mer tillgänglig för flera. Den planeras att fungera som ett verktyg för kunskapsförmedling, gemenskap och inkludering. Dessutom förväntas den bidra till att etablera gemensamma referensramar för det svenska samhället. Samtidigt som regeringen satsar på att utveckla en svensk kulturkanon, har det skett nedskärningar i kulturbudgeten. Faktum är att budgeten för kultur idag, år 2024, är lägre än den har varit på över 20 år. År 1974 introducerades en modern svensk kulturpolitik med tydligt definierade kulturpolitiska mål. Denna nya politik presenterades i kulturpropositionen efter en utredning av kulturrådet. Tillsammans med detta kom en fördelning av ansvar för kulturen mellan staten, regionerna och kommunerna. En betydande del av ansvaret lades på kommunerna, som fick i uppgift att förankra de kulturpolitiska målen på lokal nivå. De kulturpolitiska målen har uppdaterats, med mindre tillägg och variationer senast var 2009 med regeringens proposition 2009/10:3 ”Tid för kultur”. Idag har kommunerna fortsatt ett betydande ansvar när det kommer till fördelningen och uppföljningen av kulturbudgeten och dess mål. Kommunerna står för nästan lika mycket av kulturutgifterna som staten. Så har det varit under de senaste tio åren, förutom vissa undantag under pandemin då vissa statliga stöd har varit nödvändiga. Frågor kring kulturpolitik är mer aktuell än någonsin idag. Regeringen diskuterar vilken typ av kultur som ska prioriteras och vilka budgetanslag som ska beviljas samtidigt som kommunerna är fortsatt betydelsefulla aktörer inom kulturpolitiken. Men hur har det sett ut historiskt? Hur såg kommunerna beslut ut kring kultur innan statens kulturproposition år 1974?

    Authors: Lavrič, Jan;

    The thesis Stadium without an audience: from Plečnik's vision to its demise explores the meaning and role of cultural heritage, focusing on Plečnik's stadium in Ljubljana. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, the thesis first discusses the broader context of cultural heritage protection and examples of successful revitalisations of abandoned urban spaces. This is followed by a detailed analysis of the Plečnik Stadium, including its architectural features, history, symbolism and current state. In the practical part, the author uses experimental film as a research tool to study the stadium. The film depicts the current ambience and decay of the stadium through a visual narrative, while raising questions about the importance of its preservation and possible revitalisation. Diplomsko delo Stadion brez publike: od Plečnikove vizije do propada raziskuje pomen in vlogo kulturne dediščine, pri čemer se osredotoča na Plečnikov stadion v Ljubljani. Delo je razdeljeno na teoretični in praktični del. V teoretičnem delu naloga najprej obravnava širši kontekst varovanja kulturne dediščine ter primere uspešnih revitalizacij zapuščenih urbanih prostorov. Sledi podrobna analiza Plečnikovega stadiona, vključno z njegovimi arhitekturnimi značilnostmi, zgodovino, simboliko in trenutnim stanjem. V praktičnem delu avtor uporabi eksperimentalni film kot raziskovalno orodje za preučevanje stadiona. Film skozi vizualno pripoved prikazuje trenutni ambient in propadanje stadiona, obenem pa odpira vprašanja o pomenu njegovega ohranjanja in morebitne revitalizacije.

    Authors: Kodrič, Jošt;
