    "Efterhånden som verden udvikler sig, og nyere generationer tager over, bliver samfundets tankegang mere moderniseret. I dag er der et større fokus på inklusion og mangfoldighed samt en generel stræben efter at skabe et samfund, der er mere accepterende over for forskelle. Det danske samfund har gjort store fremskridt, men har stadig en lang vej at gå, når det kommer til visse former for inklusion. Et område, der har udviklet sig gennem årene, men stadig mangler opmærksomhed, er seksualundervisning i danske skoler. Vi finder, at seksualundervisning generelt skal være bredere og mere inkluderende, så den giver viden og tryghed til hver enkelt elev uanset køn, seksuel orientering, kropstype – og især handicap – da de ofte udelukkes fra denne undervisning. Den “standard” seksualundervisning, som de fleste danske elever har eller vil modtage, tager ikke højde for nævnte forskelle, eller i hvert fald ikke i et omfang, der kan betragtes som inkluderende. For at skabe et samfund med plads til mangfoldighed, finder vi det essentielt at starte med børnene, så de ikke føler sig ekskluderede eller forkerte, fordi de ikke relaterer til samfundets sociale “normer”. Hvis vi lærer dem fra en ung alder, at alle individer er forskellige, med forskellige behov og præferencer, kan de nyere generationer måske udfordre samfundets definition af, hvad der er “normalt” og “unormalt”.Ved hjælp af Disability Studies er formålet med denne opgave at udfordre fremtidige læreres forståelse af handicap ved at bruge metodiske værktøjer som fotoelicitations og erindringsværksteder til at igangsætte refleksion, hvilket forhåbentlig fører til en meningsfuld inklusion af emnet i fremtidig seksualundervisning. As the world develops and newer generations take over, society’s way of thinking becomes more modernised. Nowadays there’s a larger focus on inclusion and diversity, and a general strive to create a society that’s more accepting of differences. Danish society has come a long way, yet still has a long way to go when it comes to certain forms of inclusion. An area that has developed over the years, but still lacks attention, is sex education in Danish schools. We find that sex education in general needs to be broader and more inclusive, so that it provides knowledge and comfort to every single student no matter sex, sexual orientation, body type - and especially disabilities - as they are often excluded from these teachings. The “standard” sex education, which most Danish students have or will receive, does not take said differences into account, or at least not to an extent which could be considered inclusive. To create a society with room for diversity, we find it essential to start with the children, so that they don’t feel excluded or wrong, for not relating to the social “norms” of society. If we teach them from a young age that every individual is different, with different needs and preferences, maybe the newer generations can challenge society’s definition of what is “normal” and “abnormal”.With the help of Disability Studies, the purpose of this paper is to challenge future teachers’ understanding of disability, by using methodical tools such as photo elicitation and memory workshop to initiate reflection, which hopefully leads to a meaningful inclusion of the subject in future sex education teachings.

    This thesis explores the multifaceted dimensions of womEnhood through the lens ofautoethnography. By weaving together diverse personal stories, we aim to underscore theprofound significance of intersectionality in shaping narratives of womenhood. We presentstories endowed with richness, vibrancy, and expression. Nestled between gender andintersectional feminist studies, the argument set forth is that womenhood can be explored butnot necessarily defined, allowing for a space of plurality and nuance.Inspired by scholarships of among others bell hooks, Audre Lorde, Ursula Le Guin, LindaLapina, Lola Olufemi, and Minna Salami, we unfold the shades of womenhood otherwise toooften forgotten. With the creation of a safe, sacred, and caring space that embraces the powerof embodied knowledge, we sought a process that fosters understanding, socialtransformation, connection, and a sense of belonging. We invite you to join and experiencethis sacred and intimate space evoked by our collective autoethnography and communalstorytelling in a thesis itself laid out as a story.

    The purpose of this paper is to examine how different languages are decisive for which racialized groups are included and excluded in Danish society. The motivation for this project is based on personal interest as well as the rising contemporary societal issues regarding immigration and social inequality. Therefore, we seek to shed light on how the intersection of race and language works within both historical and contemporary frameworks. The project’s empirical data is based on the social initiative ‘2 Timer om Ugen’, which purpose is to strengthen racialized minority children’s Danish language skills and support theireducation. We have conducted qualitative interviews with the coordinator located in Odense, two of the volunteers and two of the children's parents. Furthermore, we did participant observations of the initiative’s Sprogklub (language club).Our empirical findings have resulted in four themes which our analysis elaborates upon: the meaning of language, language tests, ‘them’ and ‘us,’ and categorizations. Within thesethemes we analyze how raciolinguistics can be used to illuminate how notions of language and race from the European colonial mindset are reproduced through the work of ‘2 Timer om Ugen’.The theoretical perspective on which this analysis builds upon is based on the research articles Unsettling race and language: Toward a raciolinguistic perspective (2017) by Jonathan Rosa and Nelson Flores in combination with Anne Drangsland’s article Speaking Racism – Raciolinguistic Frontiers, Worth and Belonging in the Governing of Refugees in Norway (2024). Moreover, we include Peter Hervik’s article The Discrimination of Equality: The Danish colorblindness in the multicultural society (2001) throughout the project.Lastly, our discussion focusses on how ‘welfare racism’ is a structural part of our welfare system. We discuss how doctrinal and institutional racism create value hierarchies in Danish society, and how popular racism reproduce social inequality through discourses. The discussion is based on Fabio Perocco’s research article Racism in and for the Welfare State (2022).Finally, we conclude that despite the good intention of integrating racialized minorities, the initiative ‘2 Timer om Ugen’ becomes a product of the institutional framework they work within and ends up reproducing social inequalities. There is a paradox in that language both includes and excludes population groups together with language and race being entangled in historical and contemporary constructions of nations and citizenship. Formålet med dette bachelorprojekt er at undersøge, hvordan forskellige sprog er afgørende for, hvilke racialiserede grupper der inkluderes og ekskluderes i det danske samfund. Motivationen for dette projekt er baseret på personlig interesse samt de stigende nutidige samfundsspørgsmål vedr. indvandring og social ulighed. Derfor søger vi at belyse, hvordan skæringspunktet mellem race og sprog virker inden for både historiske og nutidige rammer.Projektets empiri er baseret på det sociale initiativ ’2 Timer om Ugen’, der har til formål er at styrke racialiserede minoritetsbørns danskkundskaber og støtte deres uddannelse. Vi har gennemført kvalitative interviews med koordinatoren i Odense, to af de frivillige og to af børnenes forældre. Desuden foretog vi observationer af initiativets Sprogklub.Vores empiriske data har resulteret i fire temaer, som vores analyse uddyber: sprogets betydning, sprogtest, 'dem' og 'os' og kategoriseringer. Inden for disse temaer analyserer vi, hvordan racelingvistik kan bruges til at belyse, hvordan forestillinger om sprog og race med rødder i den europæiske koloniale tankegang er reproduceret gennem ’2 Timer om Ugen’s arbejde.Det teoretiske perspektiv, som denne analyse bygger på, er baseret på forskningsartiklerne Unsettling race and language: Toward a raciolinguistic perspective (2017) af Jonathan Rosa og Nelson Flores i kombination med Anne Drangslands artikel Speaking Racism – Raciolinguistic Frontiers, Worth and Belonging in the Governing of Refugees in Norway (2024). Desuden inkluderer vi Peter Herviks artikel The Discrimination of Equality: The Danish colorblindness in the multicultural society (2001) gennem hele projektet.Endelig fokuserer vores diskussion på, hvordan 'velfærdsracisme' er en strukturel del af vores velfærdssystem. Vi diskuterer, hvordan doktrinær- og institutionel racisme skaber værdihierarkier i det danske samfund, og hvordan folkelig racisme reproducerer social ulighed gennem diskurser. Diskussionen er baseret på Fabio Peroccos forskningsartikel Racism in and for the Welfare State (2022).Til sidst konkluderer vi, at på trods af den gode intention om at integrere racialiserede minoriteter bliver initiativet ’2 Timer om Ugen’ et produkt af de institutionelle rammer, de arbejder med inden for og ender med at reproducere sociale uligheder. Der er et paradoks i, at sprog både inkluderer og ekskluderer befolkningsgrupper samt at sprog og race er viklet ind i historiske og nutidige konstruktioner af nationer og medborgerskab.

    This project examines how young women, aged 18-34, experience the current state of the medical system set in place for the contraceptive device IUD and aims to pinpoint areas with potential for improvement. To examine how something is experienced it must first be understood, therefore the IUD itself is presented first, followed by research studies that study how bad experiences influence future gynecological procedures. A development workshop was held to involve the focus group in the research and obtain the experiences and wishes directly from the young women. Additionally, interviews were conducted with two medical experts from their respective standpoint where their look on the IUD and the materials from the development workshop were discussed. The applied theories of ANT, logic of care, situated knowledge and technological theories and tools like the TRIN model provide perspectives on the empirical data collected from this workshop and the semi structured interviews with the experts. It aims to analyze what actors are involved in the entire network of the IUD. Through mapping of the relational network of actors, both human and non-human, it is made possible to see the contraceptive IUD not just as a device, but as a technological network that spans over many different areas of expertise. A visual model of this network has been developed to aid in pinpointing the areas/actors with potential for improvement. The findings show that young women experience a lack of communication, information and inclusion and wish to be free from adverse effects such as pain. Through analysis of the findings, actors such as the medical providers, public voice, research and the state all have room for improvement while medical providers seem to be the one that has most impact on the woman. Dette projekt har til formål at undersøge, hvordan spiraloplægning erfares for unge kvinder, og hvor de udtrykker at oplevelsen kan forbedres. For at undersøge, hvordan noget opleves, skal det først forstås, og derfor redegøres der først for spiralen som præventionsform, dernæst inddrages forskningsstudier, der omhandler kvinders dårlige oplevelser med spiraloplægning, som kan have en negativ påvirkning på deres fremtidige møde med sundhedsvæsenet. Et fremtidsværksted blev afholdt for at inddrage de unge kvinders erfaringer og ønsker i forskningen. Derudover blev der gennemført semistrukturerede interviews med to fagpersoner indenfor gynækologi. Fagpersonerne og deltagerne af fremtidsværkstedets udtalelser danner et empirisk grundlag for projektet.De anvendte teorier ANT, omsorgslogik, situerede viden og teknologiske teorier og værktøjer, som TRIN-modellen, giver perspektiver på de empiriske data Projektet har til formål at analysere, hvilke aktører der indgår i det teknologiske system, som spiraloplægning er. Gennem aktørkortlægning af det relationelle netværk, bestående af både menneskelige og ikke-menneskelige, gøres det muligt at se spiralen som en præventionsform, der spænder over adskillige ekspertiseområder. En visuel model af dette netværk er blevet udviklet, for at hjælpe med at udpege de områder/aktører med potentiale for forbedring. Resultaterne viser, at unge kvinder oplever mangel på kommunikation, information og inklusion og ønsker at blive fri for bivirkninger såsom smerte. Gennem analyse af resultaterne har aktører såsom udbydere, den offentlig stemme, forskning og staten alle plads til forbedringer, mens udbydere synes at være den aktør, der har størst indflydelse på kvinden.

    Authors: Kristensen, Elias Eland;

    What are the discursive ideas around emerging artificial intelligence in international relations, and what could these mean for the future? Through a combination of quantitative topic modeling and manual qualitative discourse analysis, the project analyzes 55 articles from the epistemically influential Foreign Affairs Magazine. The project identifies five distinct discursive ideas around emerging AI and IR. By applying the English School theory, the project assesses the normativity of the discursive ideas, which, following the project’s constructivist philosophy of science, could shape the future of international society. The project argues that most of the discursive ideas point towards a bifurcation or dissolution of the current nascent global governance efforts around AI. Furthermore, the project finds that the ideals of order and zero-sum power dominate the ideals around global justice.

    This study seeks to examine the practice of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) on an organisational level, as well as the implications this has on the organisation’s image and reputation. We examine the aforementioned on the basis of a focus group interview with six participants, which was conducted for the purpose of the study. Our analysis of the statements uttered by the participants is focused on two main themes: Reputation Management for Dove as an organisation and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), as well as underlying ethical concerns involved with AI in relation to this. The analysis is followed by a discussion of a set of regulations for public use of AI and whether these regulations should even be presented by Dove, how to ensure that the use of AI is both responsible and transparent, issues related to CSR and ethics, and lastly general deliberations of our empirical situation and results. The study concludes that the use of AI does affect the public opinion of an organisation, and although our case-organisation Dove is solely negatively affected, it is also theoretically possible for an organisation’s image to be positively affected by their use of AI. This does, however, require careful consideration and incorporation of CSR-guidelines.

    This project aims to contrast the narratives and institutionalised understandings of solidarity as portrayed by the United Nations through phenomenological exploration of queer people's experiences with, and understandings of solidarity. It means to challenge the institutions’ conceptualisation of solidarity through uncovering the complex variations of this concept. Through that, it aims to explore the role that a phenomenological study can have in challenging institutionalised narratives and understandings. This research contributes to the discourse on solidarity by highlighting the importance of inclusive and diverse perspectives. It calls for a critical reassessment of institutional narratives to ensure they reflect the lived realities of all communities.

    Authors: Bressan, Natacha; la Cour, Marie Tøttrup; Bergman, Vendela Erika;

    Background: Continued global warming threatens the existence of Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The Green Climate Fund (GCF) was established to help vulnerable countries adapt to climate change through easier access to funding and country ownership of financing decisions. However, research reveals that climate adaptation efforts often are inadequate and fail to meet the unique adaptation needs of SIDS.Aim: This study aims to challenge current climate adaptation practices in SIDS, by proposing an Actor-Oriented approach to evaluating the effectiveness of climate adaptation projects. The concept of agency is central to this approach, highlighting the importance of local stakeholders' active participation, perspectives, and decision-making power in the design and implementation of climate adaptation projects.Methods: A case study of the GCF FP007 project in the Maldives. Based on reports from the UNDP, GCF, and the Maldivian Ministry of Environment, it assessed the extent to which the FP007 project can be considered effective.Findings: Our evaluation of the FP007 project reveals significant limitations in its effectiveness from an Actor-Oriented perspective. The project did not adequately address local stakeholder priorities, relied heavily on foreign consultants, and maintained a top-down approach, limiting local agency. Additionally, the project’s organizational structure and normative evaluation methods perpetuated external superiority and failed to fully incorporate and value local perspectives.

    Authors: Nyboe, Laura Valentiner; Kjær, Iben Amalie;

    Authors: Kristensen, Elias Eland;
