Depuis quatre ans, elle coordonne le projet « HabEat », une étude lancée dans six pays européens (France, Angleterre, Danemark, Portugal, Pays-Bas et Grèce) destinée à analyser les comportements alimentaires chez les enfants et grandement orientée sur leur consommation de légumes.

We relate general symmetric ideals to the so called Specht ideals generated by all Specht polynomials of a given shape. We show a connection between the leading monomials of polynomials in the ideal and the Specht polynomials contained in the ideal. This provides applications in several contexts. Most notably, this connection gives information about the solutions of the corresponding set of equations. From another perspective, it restricts the isotypic decomposition of the ideal viewed as a representation of the symmetric group.

N/A; Modern computer architectures use features which often com-plicate the WCET analysis of real-time software. Alterna-tive time-predictable designs, and in particular caches, thus are gaining more and more interest. A recently proposed stack cache, for instance, avoids the need for the analysis of complex cache states. Instead, only the occupancy level of the cache has to be determined. The memory transfers generated by the standard stack cache are not generally aligned. These unaligned accesses risk to introduce complexity to the otherwise simple WCET analysis. In this work, we investigate three different ap-proaches to handle the alignment problem in the stack cache: (1) unaligned transfers, (2) alignment through compiler-gen-erated padding, (3) a novel hardware extension ensuring the alignment of all transfers. Simulation results show that our hardware extension offers a good compromise between average-case performance and analysis complexity.

European Policy Brief 7; This brief makes two arguments about the significance of the sea in Southeast Asia. The first concerns maritime Southeast Asia in the region’s historical political development, to argue that the islands used an outward-looking model connected over long distances and receptive to outside ideas. This ended in the post-colonial era, when states’ nation-building projects claimed territorial sovereignty over both land and sea, but effectively the nation was built on land with little attention paid to maritime space. Within the ASEAN Economic Community, there is now great potential for enhanced regional integration through improvements in maritime connectivity at the regional and local levels (for which air transportation and internet communications do not substitute), in addition to the more strategic global shipping industry. The second concerns the South China Sea, to argue that the dispute poses a threat to integration in Southeast Asia, and not just because China shows no interest in a rules-based solution. On the one hand, the dispute has broad implications: countries not directly party to the dispute (e.g. Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, the US, EU member states) have a strategic interest in its resolution. On the other hand, the dispute detracts attention from other pressing matters in the maritime region. Finally, the dispute has highlighted the weakness of regional cooperation in its current framework. In the 20th century, ASEAN successfully facilitated countries to deal with disputes, as long as they were bilateral. Today, ASEAN is faced with a tougher challenge, involving China, and is required to make a multilateral response. It is historically ill-equipped for this new task

Working Paper / Power 2 Youth program; This paper offers a comparative overview of both country and issue-based case studies prepared for the Power2Youth Work Package dedicated to analysis of policy/institutional factors of youth exclusion/inclusion in the South East of the Mediterranean. It begins by clarifying the theoretical and methodological presuppositions mobilized to address the concepts of ‘youth’ and public action. Next it reviews the four sectoral policy fields selected for the research, namely: employment, migration, family and spatial planning. Finally, it analyses governmental techniques at work in the six country case studies (Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Occupied Palestinian Territories, Tunisia and Turkey).

These are the preliminary findings on European Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) in a Global Context produced by the European project, Interco-SSH, which examines the processes of institutionalization and internationalization of the social sciences and humanities.; The SSH form an increasingly global field of research and training. Research output has during the past three decades expanded considerably in almost every part of the world, transnational connections and collaborations have gained more weight, and English has become the lingua franca of international communication.This globalizing field of the SSH is strongly dominated by Western countries in terms ofresearch capacity and publication outlets, and even more so with regard to scholarly recognition and prestige (as measured by citations and prizes). At the global level the SSH display a duopolistic structure, with a North American-European core, various semi-peripheral and multiple peripheral regions and countries.One of the most important changes in this global system has been the rise of Europe, which in terms of research output (articles, books) and research organizations (networks, journals,professional associations) is on a level that is roughly comparable to that of North America. Ina relatively short period of time, mainly since the 1990s, a European infrastructure has emerged (funding programs, journals, professional associations) that has reshaped the research and publication process in the SSH in the region. The EC Framework programmes played a structuring role in fostering intra-European collaboration involving smaller countries and their institutions.

Elle prend la suite des Cahiers du Brésil Contemporain fondés en 1987 par Ignacy Sachs et dirigés jusqu'en 2010 par Marion Aubrée.Cette publication semestrielle, ouverte à toutes les disciplines, a pour objectif de faire connaître une pluralité de thèmes et d’approches, notamment dans une visée comparatiste. Il s’agit de (re)placer le Brésil, son histoire, sa société, ses espaces dans des perspectives plus larges issues de débats théoriques et de recherches empiriques capables d’en renouveler l’analyse et la perception.Chaque numéro comporte un dossier thématique et un Varia composés, l’un et l’autre, d’articles inédits.Objectifs scientifiques:Le rôle que tient le Brésil dans le monde contemporain n’est plus à démontrer. Cette économie dite « émergente », confrontée à l’un des plus importants défis écologiques de la planète, est aussi un riche laboratoire politique de la démocratie, des luttes contre la pauvreté et contre la discrimination raciale, même si les disparités sociales et les violences qu’elles engendrent restent une part de son quotidien. Mieux connaître ce territoire exceptionnel et les multiples ensembles internationaux dans lesquels il s’insère est, plus que jamais, une nécessité : de nombreux paradigmes de la modernité et de la postmodernité s’y sont forgés. C’est à cette tâche que la revue Brésil(s). Sciences humaines et sociales se consacre.De plus, la revue se veut une plateforme de la recherche brésilianiste internationale et souhaite multiplier les mises en perspectives, les commentaires croisés, les confrontations. Une série d’événements, liés à son calendrier éditorial, renforcent ces échanges. La parution de chaque nouveau numéro est l’occasion d’une rencontre internationale (atelier, journée d’étude, colloque) et, une fois par mois, un « Midi de Brésil(s) » offre à un brésilianiste reconnu l’occasion de dialoguer avec un public d’autant plus large que la conférence est mise en ligne sur le site des Archives audiovisuelles de la recherche (Fondation Maison des sciences de l’Homme).

Japon : l'après-désastre sont deux tables rondes organisées par le Programme Japon de la Fondation Maison des sciences de l'homme.Un an après la triple catastrophe du nord-est du Japon (séisme magnitude 9, tsunami, accident nucléaire à Fukushima) où 20.000 personnes ont trouvé la mort, de multiples questions restent en suspens. Comment évaluer les conséquences, visibles et invisibles, de ces catastrophes ? Comment faire face aux multiples problèmes, matériels, sociaux, humains, qui restent encore à résoudre ?Du point de vue de différentes disciplines - littérature, sociologie, journalisme, urbanisme, architecture - plusieurs observateurs et spécialistes apportent un éclairage sur ces questions cruciales, et sur les nouveaux enjeux de l'environnement, en associant données objectives et réflexions pour le long terme.Dans le cadre de la Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, Jane COBBI a la direction du Programme Japon depuis 2004. Elle privilégie les échanges et les partenariats sur des grands phénomènes de civilisation (anthropologie, philosophie, modes de vie, environnement), et les rapports au milieu naturel : production agricole, riziculture, alimentation et environnement, organisation de l’habitat, ville et environnement… Son but est d’intensifier les échanges entre organismes de recherche en consolidant les partenariats à moyen et long terme, notamment par des conventions avec différentes institutions japonaises : le Musée national d’ethnologie (Osaka), l’Institut de Recherche sur l’Homme et la Nature (Kyoto), l’Université de Kyoto, l’Université de Nagoya, l’Université du Tohoku (en cours), la Maison franco-japonaise à Tokyo, et des partenariats avec des établissements français : l’Université de Paris Ouest- Nanterre La Défense, l’Université Paris 7, le Centre d’Etudes japonaises de l’Université Paris III, le Museum national d’Histoire naturelle, l’Ecole d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville, etc.
