    Working Paper / Power 2 Youth program; This paper offers a comparative overview of both country and issue-based case studies prepared for the Power2Youth Work Package dedicated to analysis of policy/institutional factors of youth exclusion/inclusion in the South East of the Mediterranean. It begins by clarifying the theoretical and methodological presuppositions mobilized to address the concepts of ‘youth’ and public action. Next it reviews the four sectoral policy fields selected for the research, namely: employment, migration, family and spatial planning. Finally, it analyses governmental techniques at work in the six country case studies (Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Occupied Palestinian Territories, Tunisia and Turkey).

    This work has been supported by European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement 813211 (POEMA); An ideal of polynomials is symmetric if it is closed under permutations of variables. We relate general symmetric ideals to the so called Specht ideals generated by all Specht polynomials of a given shape. We show a connection between the leading monomials of polynomials in the ideal and the Specht polynomials contained in the ideal. This provides applications in several contexts. Most notably, this connection gives information about the solutions of the corresponding set of equations. From another perspective, it restricts the isotypic decomposition of the ideal viewed as a representation of the symmetric group.

    Communiqué de presse dans la newsletter n° 9 du 08/09/2020 publié sur le site intranet de INRAE de Dijon.; Il y a peu de temps, la population française vivait une période inédite : neuf semaines confinées à la maison. Des chercheurs du CSGA se sont intéressées à l'impact du confinement sur les habitudes alimentaires en déployant une vaste enquête auprès de 500 parents d'enfants de 3-11 ans.

    Target geometries, Olympic 70M vs Big Shoot, side view. Note that the Big Shoot target geometries given here are as per the target dimensions and unit equivalencies elaborated in Zheng Xuan’s commentaries to the relevant Classics. On Zheng Xuan’s miscalculation of the mid- and long-range target heights (corrected here) and on the idealised nature of his other figures, see Morgan (forthcoming).

    http://ercim-news.ercim.eu/en88/; Today's software systems are increasingly networked and are further characterized by ever-changing functionalities provided to/required from the networked environment because of the wide variety of dynamically available heterogeneous applications. To manage evolution in this context, the CONNECT project pursues the automated synthesis of CONNECTors enabling continuous composition and interoperability of applications.

  • Elosua, Miguel;

    University towns have been proliferating all over the country since the beginning of the new century. It forms part of a plan of the central government launched in 2000 by which 50 new university towns will be put up in the city suburbs before 2020. The reasons for this push may seem obvious. Along with the dramatic increase in the number of students that pursue higher studies, land prices within city centres have rocketed. This makes it difficult for universities to expand their facilities and capacity. At the same time, selling old campuses bring sizable capital gains that allow for the acquisition of large terrains in the urbanizing city's outskirts (sometimes it is the government who expropriates the old campus, and the academic institution gets land in the new campus town as a part of the compensation).
