The World’s Greatest Natural Areas : an indicative inventory of natural sites of World Heritage quality. Au nombre de ces ouvrages, on trouve notamment Conservation for a New Era (UICN, 2009) et Farming with Nature: The Science and Practice of Ecoagriculture (Island Press, 2007). 1. La Convention du patrimoine mondial ; 1a. Scoliosis treatment strategy is generally chosen according to the severity and type of the spinal curve. Currently, the curve type is determined from X-rays whose acquisition can be harmful for the patient. We propose in this paper a system that can predict the scoliosis curve type based on the analysis of the surface of the trunk. The latter is acquired and reconstructed in 3D using a non invasive multi-head digitizing system. The deformity is described by the back surface rotation, measured on several cross-sections of the trunk. A classifier composed of three support vector machines was trained and tested using the data of 97 patients with scoliosis. A prediction rate of 72.2% was obtained, showing that the use of the trunk surface for a high-level scoliosis classification is feasible and promising.

This paper combines several empirical studies and some theoretical research to shed some light on the dark, undefined waters in which we plunge when we are “immersed”. Immersion, across all media, comes in three different types and in three different degrees, and can be hindered by barriers, such as inaccessibility, or favored by fuel, such as using one’s imagination. The resulting model of immersion can be applied to experiences formed by any type of media object, but is particularly relevant to video games. Responsible conduct of research (RCR) is ubiquitous, and present in most areas of research. One area that has received little attention is Research-Creation (RC): • an emergent eld at the interface of academic research and creative activities • in Quebec, Canada, RC is de ned as “research activities or approaches that foster the creation or interpretation/ performance of literary or artistic works of all types” Researcher-Creators – who are at the same time researchers and practising artists, musicians, or designers – may be faced with very di erent issues or challenges from colleagues in the rest of academia. • How are RCR issues are articulated in RC? • How does the heterogeneous RC community responds to institutional policies or provincial/national RCR guidelines? This review aimed to identify and categorize RCR issues, and RC-speci c factors.

In his influential monograph «The Rhetoric of Citation Systems», Connors (1999) elaborates on the principle that scholars working with different forms of citation find themselves thinking differently, since the citation format has natural consequences in the way it interacts with the material in the practice of the writer.
