    In the past few years the Digital Humanities have developed within two main institutional contexts: within dedicated research centers and within more traditional discipline-based faculties. While the DHers in the former case are in danger of closing themselves within ivory towers of a think-alike community, in the latter case the “lone wolves” are most likely to have suffered isolation and lack of real confrontations with their peers. However both these experiences are now converging and, slowly but steadily, DH has raised its profile and its impact within the Humanities, with external and internal pressure on other fields now mounting, as demonstrated by the intensification of newspapers articles, manifestos and positions being advertised. We are now at a turning point: will the experience of DH feed back and enrich disciplines such as English, Spanish, History, and so on, or will brand new disciplines stem from it, as has happened for Computational Linguistics as a clearly separated entity with respect to Linguistics? Doctoral

    Die Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel (mhk) besitzt unterschiedliche Sammlungen in ihren Schlössern und Museen. Gerade die Bestände an Möbeln und Holzobjekten sind beachtlich und datieren vom 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr. bis in die Gegenwart. Die Herausforderung für die Restaurierung ist, dass Möbel nicht immer ausschließlich aus Holz bestehen, sondern häufig mit edlen Materialien wie Elfenbein, Schildpatt oder Perlmutt verziert sind. Als Dekoration dienen auch Metalle, Stroh, Spiegel oder aus Leim hergestellte „farbige Einlagen“. Mithilfe technologischer Untersuchungen werden zuerst alle verwendeten Materialien erkannt. Darauf basierend beginnt die spannende Zusammenarbeit der Restaurator/inn/en und Kurator/inn/en der unterschiedlichen Disziplinen: Wie wird vorgegangen, wer erarbeitet das Konzept? Wer entscheidet? Wenn Ergänzungen vorgenommen werden sollen, wo kommen die ungewöhnlichen Materialien her? Anhand von interessanten Beispielen der mhk wird die Arbeit der Restaurator/inn/en erläutert. Die kürzlich abgeschlossene Restaurierung eines barocken, vergoldeten Möbelensembles mit Glassteinbesatz wird unter anderem im Detail vorgestellt.

    Authors: Nyong'o, Tavia;

    Dieser Vortrag behandelt Jason and Shirley von Stephen Winters, eine filmische Fabel über die Dreharbeiten zu Shirley Clarkes Portrait of Jason (1967). Für seine absichtsvoll unzuverlässige Erzählung über historisch verbürgte Ereignisse ist der Film gleichermaßen gelobt und kritisiert worden. Während die historische Rekonstruktion eine zulässige Weise der Wiedergewinnung der Vergangenheit darstellt, wird dieser Vortrag die These vertreten, dass die Fabulation eine ebenso zulässige Variante darstellt, zumal aus der Sicht derer, die dem Machtgefüge der dokumentarischen Aufzeichnung und Wiedergabe ausgesetzt sind. In dem Vortrag gehe ich von den Arbeiten des Filmtheoretikers Marc Siegel und der schwarzen feministischen Theoretikerin Hortense Spillers aus, um die Frage nach der „Normativität“ oder „Gegennormativität“ von Winters historischer Rekonstruktion zu stellen. Queer theory, so wird bisweilen gesagt, ist immer schon anti-normativ eingestellt. Sie glorifiziert rückhaltlos ihre eigene Transgressivität und ihre Regelverletzungen. Vertreter dieser Position sprechen sich mitunter für ein Sowohl-als-auch-Model der Anerkennung von Geltungsansprüchen aus, bei dem normative und anti-normative Haltungen gleichermaßen ernst genommen werden sollen. Mit seiner freihändigen Improvisation über verbürgte historische Tatsachen scheint Jason and Shirley von uns allerdings eine andere Haltung zu verlangen, eine Haltung des Weder/Noch. Dieser Haltung zufolge kann der Ethos der Wiederherstellung und der Rekonstruktion des Vergangenen ebenso wenig einen Geltungsanspruch einfordern wie die Glorifizierung der Transgression um ihrer selbst willen.

    En los últimos años, el turismo cultural ha crecido de forma exponencial tanto en nuestro país como en el mundo en general. Los turistas aprovechan los desplazamientos a otros lugares para conocer la historia, el arte y las costumbres de los sitios que visitan, y de esta manera el tiempo de ocio se ha convertido en un tiempo de aprendizaje y conocimiento. En su globalidad, la asignatura de Patrimonio Cultural plantea el estudio de las ciencias de patrimonio y los cambios que esta disciplina ha experimentado en los últimos tiempos, incluyendo el análisis de las nuevas formas patrimoniales como son el patrimonio oral, la memoria histórica, el paisaje y el territorio y su interrelación con la cultura. También se dedica un módulo entero a exponer los principios para la gestión sostenible del patrimonio con uso turístico, así como a la formulación de estrategias sostenibles para la preparación de productos de turismo cultural. La asignatura tiene un planteamiento interdisciplinario y se acerca a las nuevas herramientas de la interpretación del patrimonio y su relación con la nueva conceptualización del turismo cultural. La estructura de la asignatura de Patrimonio Cultural, se desenvuelve paralelamente a la organización y distribución de los módulos didácticos, por lo que el ámbito temático de los materiales ofrece al estudiante la relación clave y fundamental entre Patrimonio Cultural y Turismo y la definición de las nuevas formas de Turismo, muy especialmente del Turismo Cultural. En els darrers anys, el turisme cultural ha crescut de forma exponencial tant en el nostre país com en el món en general. Els turistes aprofiten els desplaçaments a d'altres indrets per conèixer la història, l'art i els costums dels llocs que visiten, i d'aquesta manera, el temps d'oci ha esdevingut un temps d'aprenentatge i coneixement. En la seva globalitat, l'assignatura de Patrimoni Cultural planteja l'estudi de les ciències del patrimoni i els canvis que aquesta disciplina ha experimentat en els darrers temps, incloent l'anàlisi de les noves formes patrimonials com són el patrimoni oral, la memòria històrica, el paisatge i el territori i la seva interrelació amb la cultura. També es dedica un mòdul sencer a exposar els principis per a la gestió sostenible del patrimoni amb ús turístic, així com a la formulació d'estratègies sostenibles per a la preparació de productes turisme cultural. L'assignatura té un plantejament interdisciplinari i s'apropa a les noves eines de la interpretació del patrimoni i la seva relació amb la nova conceptualització del turisme cultural. L'estructura de l'assignatura de Patrimoni Cultural es desenvolupa paral·lelament a l'organització i distribució dels mòduls didàctics, per la qual cosa l'àmbit temàtic dels materials ofereix a l'estudiant la relació clau i fonamental entre Patrimoni Cultural i Turisme i la definició de les noves formes de Turisme, molt especialment la del Turisme Cultural. In recent years, cultural tourism has grown exponentially in our country and the world in general. Tourists take advantage of trips to other places to know the history, art and traditions of the places they visit, and thus leisure time has become a time of learning and knowledge. Globally, the Cultural heritage course poses the study of Heritage sciences and the changes that this discipline has experienced in recent times, including the analysis of new economic forms such as oral heritage, historical memory, landscape and territory and their relationship to culture.

Die Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel (mhk) besitzt unterschiedliche Sammlungen in ihren Schlössern und Museen. Gerade die Bestände an Möbeln und Holzobjekten sind beachtlich und datieren vom 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr. bis in die Gegenwart. Die Herausforderung für die Restaurierung ist, dass Möbel nicht immer ausschließlich aus Holz bestehen, sondern häufig mit edlen Materialien wie Elfenbein, Schildpatt oder Perlmutt verziert sind. Als Dekoration dienen auch Metalle, Stroh, Spiegel oder aus Leim hergestellte „farbige Einlagen“. Mithilfe technologischer Untersuchungen werden zuerst alle verwendeten Materialien erkannt. Darauf basierend beginnt die spannende Zusammenarbeit der Restaurator/inn/en und Kurator/inn/en der unterschiedlichen Disziplinen: Wie wird vorgegangen, wer erarbeitet das Konzept? Wer entscheidet? Wenn Ergänzungen vorgenommen werden sollen, wo kommen die ungewöhnlichen Materialien her? Anhand von interessanten Beispielen der mhk wird die Arbeit der Restaurator/inn/en erläutert. Die kürzlich abgeschlossene Restaurierung eines barocken, vergoldeten Möbelensembles mit Glassteinbesatz wird unter anderem im Detail vorgestellt.

    Dieser Vortrag behandelt Jason and Shirley von Stephen Winters, eine filmische Fabel über die Dreharbeiten zu Shirley Clarkes Portrait of Jason (1967). Für seine absichtsvoll unzuverlässige Erzählung über historisch verbürgte Ereignisse ist der Film gleichermaßen gelobt und kritisiert worden. Während die historische Rekonstruktion eine zulässige Weise der Wiedergewinnung der Vergangenheit darstellt, wird dieser Vortrag die These vertreten, dass die Fabulation eine ebenso zulässige Variante darstellt, zumal aus der Sicht derer, die dem Machtgefüge der dokumentarischen Aufzeichnung und Wiedergabe ausgesetzt sind. In dem Vortrag gehe ich von den Arbeiten des Filmtheoretikers Marc Siegel und der schwarzen feministischen Theoretikerin Hortense Spillers aus, um die Frage nach der „Normativität“ oder „Gegennormativität“ von Winters historischer Rekonstruktion zu stellen. Queer theory, so wird bisweilen gesagt, ist immer schon anti-normativ eingestellt. Sie glorifiziert rückhaltlos ihre eigene Transgressivität und ihre Regelverletzungen. Vertreter dieser Position sprechen sich mitunter für ein Sowohl-als-auch-Model der Anerkennung von Geltungsansprüchen aus, bei dem normative und anti-normative Haltungen gleichermaßen ernst genommen werden sollen. Mit seiner freihändigen Improvisation über verbürgte historische Tatsachen scheint Jason and Shirley von uns allerdings eine andere Haltung zu verlangen, eine Haltung des Weder/Noch. Dieser Haltung zufolge kann der Ethos der Wiederherstellung und der Rekonstruktion des Vergangenen ebenso wenig einen Geltungsanspruch einfordern wie die Glorifizierung der Transgression um ihrer selbst willen.
