This paper examines how Russian President Vladimir Putin incorporates the use of history in his speeches and articles with regards to how he positions Russia in its relation to Ukraine. The analysis is structured around three central places of remembrance (danish: erindringssteder): The Kyivan Rus which focuses on the close historical relation between Ukraine and Russia; the heritage of the Sovietunion in relation to how the union defined the borders of Soviet-Ukraine; World War II, ukrainian nationalism and its relation to nazism which centers around how Putin relates nazism to the current ukrainian political elite. The analysis concludes that Putin primarily utilizes the three places of remembrance to legitimize Russia's current invasion of Ukraine. Putin finds the distribution of territories during the soviet era to have been theft, and a complete violation of Russia's integrity. Furthermore, he seeks to protect ethnic russians within the borders of Ukraine from a genocide, instigated by ukrainian nationalists and neo-nazis, who continue the tradition of atrocities commited during World War II. Finally, Putin perceives Ukrainians and Russians as a single people, basing his claim on common history, language, and culture. The article will address the cultural history of walking, and it will critically discuss the creative potentials of walking as it argues that the Romantic walk is not the only feature of this. Here the Situationist concept and method of the dérive with its urban settings will supplement the Romantic walk, and various cases of both are included in the article, just as psychogeography, geocriticism and literary samples of these movements illustrate the cognitive synergy they have with walking. Finally, the article will introduce the major scholarly publications about walking. Akademisk kvarter | Academic Quarter, Gå | Walk, Vol. 18

This paper examines how humanities graduates from Roskilde University (RUC) experience the transition to work life, highlighting the challenges in the changing job market and educational landscape. Utilizing a qualitative methodology through interviews with Pive humanities gradu- ates, the research provides insights into their subjective experiences during this transitional phase. Incorporating transition and employability theory, the paper examines the graduates' journey through critical life changes in the context of career development. The theoretical framework, based on phenomenology, explores the concept of reality as shaped by individual perceptions. Key Pindings reveal the transition's varied nature, shaped by personal decisions and external factors, and underscore signiPicant psychological challenges like uncertainty, iden- tity crises, and self-doubt, often intensiPied by job search struggles. The study also identiPies a gap in the educational institution’s role in aligning skills with market needs. Additionally, it ad- dresses societal views on the value of humanities degrees and advocates for greater recognition of their unique competencies in a dynamic job market. The study concludes with suggestions for further research to facilitate smoother and more individual-focused transitions for human- ities graduates into the workforce.
