    Rasmussen, Maria Cindy Wyngaard;

    Copenhagen is in rapid growth, and the demand for housing is pushing towards expansions of the capital. However, as buildings and construction of these are causing a third of the world’s energy consumption, the demand for sustainable solutions requires actors and institutions to take action and create solutions for both issues. According to the state enterprise behind the capital’s developments, By & Havn, the relatively new area Ørestad is declared sustainable, as they are building energy-efficient apartments and creating incentives for green projects. Furthermore, the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals of 2015 makes up the foundation of the strategies from By & Havn and Ørestad’s Grundejerforening towards sustainable development in Ørestad. However, some citizens do not find sustainability to be a visible theme in Ørestad whilst viewing the area as being soulless. This project will therefore explore the initiatives taken towards transitioning Ørestad into a sustainable city area. Moreover, a survey and interviews of some of the citizens will reveal the dissatisfaction with the city planning and lack of consideration for local activity. Finally, it is revealed that the incentives for strengthening social sustainability are not sufficient and that the developments are not fully sustainable due to this matter. The solution is found by creating stronger initiatives to fulfill the development goals rather than only operating with selected subgoals, which will be beneficial for creating a holistic sustainable transition in the socio-technical system. A further study of the results of the new area, Fælledbyen, is recommended to investigate the effects of implementing DGNB-certifications. København er i kraftig vækst, og den stigende efterspørgsel på boliger presser på udvidelsen af hovedstaden. Samtidigt står byggesektoren bag en tredjedel af det globale energiforbrug, og regeringer over hele kloden er nødsaget til at skabe seriøse tiltag der kan løse begge problemstillinger. Ifølge By & Havn er den relativt nye bydel Ørestad på Amager bæredygtig grundet de energieffektive boliger og incitamenter der har til formål at fremme bæredygtighed. Derudover benytter både By & Havn og Ørestads Grundejerforening sig af FN’s verdensmål som danner grobunden for strategierne for bæredygtig udvikling. Til gengæld anser borgerne ikke bæredygtighed som værende et tydeligt tema i Ørestad, og de opfatter tværtimod bydelen som værende sjælløs. Dette projekt vil derfor undersøge initiativerne fra både Ørestad Grundejerforening og By & Havn for den bæredygtig omstilling i Ørestad. Denne undersøgelse vil understøttes af en spørgeskemaundersøgelse og interviews af nogle af Ørestads borgere som påviser utilfredsheden med byplanlægningen og den manglende prioritering af lokalt byliv. Endeligt konkluderes, at incitamenterne for at styrke den sociale bæredygtighed ikke er tilstrækkelig, og at udvikling derved ikke kan kaldes bæredygtig. Løsningen findes ved at skabe stærkere initiativer til at opfylde FN’s verdensmål frem for blot at arbejde ud fra udvalgte delmål, som vil være til gavn for den fulde bæredygtige omstilling i det socio-tekniske system. En opfølgende undersøgelse af det færdigbyggede Fælledbyen samt andre udviklede kvarterer i Ørestad anbefales for at måle effekterne af de implementerede DGNB-certificeringer.

    I projektet stilles spørgsmålet: “I hvilket omfang udvider borgerforslag demokratiet på inputsi-den?”. Til at besvare dette spørgsmål, er der i projektet anvendt to cases. Formålet har været at opstille to emner, der i deres kerne udgør både klassisk højre-venstre konflikter, men også en problematik i forholdende om, at tilgå emnet i demokratisk sammenhæng. Casene udgøres af borgerforslagene: “Omskæring af drengebørn” og “Tandlæge på lige vilkår med anden sund-hedsområder”. Ved at analysere politikernes italesættelse af borgerforslagsordningen, skabes der indsigt i formålet med ordningen. Hertil sidestilles det politiske formål med forslagsstiller-nes udsagn, hvortil der udtrykkes en forbedret mulighed i at kunne lægge pres på politikerne. Det har dermed været relevant at analysere hvorvidt der er tale om empowerment af borgerne hvilke udfordringer der er ved særlige emners tilgang til den politiske dagsorden og hvordan det påvirker demokratiet i Danmark.Projektet konkluderer, at borgerforslagsordningen udgør et supplement til det repræsentative demokrati. Dette baner vejen for at sidestille hensigterne, der findes i de deliberative demokrati tanker, med udformningen af borgerforslagsordningen og at det dermed udvider demokratiet, men inden for gældende demokratiske- og grundlovsmæssige rammer.

    This paper examines the relationship between the media's representation of ethnic minorities during the covid-19 pandemic and nationalist tendencies in Danish politics. This is examined by analyzing how ethnic minorities are represented in Danish media coverage of increasing corona infection in the housing area Vollsmose, located in Odense, Denmark. Taking Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis approach combined with Høilund’s theory of The Right of Fear and Hallin’s theory of Spheres of the Journalistic World, this qualitative study analyzes 113 articles from eight Danish newspapers through thematic coding. The critical discourse analysis is structured according to Fairclough’s three-dimensional model, which divides the analysis into text, discursive practice and social practice. The analysis finds that the media draws on a nationalist discourse that is based on a concept of exclusion and divides the Danish society into “us” and “them”. The paper concludes that a nationalist discourse has gained hegemony in the media as well as the social and political structures of society. The media's representations of ethnic minorities during the covid-19 pandemic reproduces the same discourses as powerful political actors, thus contributing to the establishment of a nationalist discourse as a hegemonic discourse and strengthening nationalist political tendencies through fear of the covid-19 pandemic. Finally, the paper concludes that the media abandons the journalistic ideal of objectivity and critique by reproducing the same nationalist discourse as powerful political actors instead of challenging the attitudes, norms and values of prominent politicians. Thus, the media contributes to the creation and maintenance of unequal power relations, in which ethnic minorities are kept in a marginalized position.

    Formålet med projektet er at undersøge, hvordan tre medarbejdere i IT-freelancehuset EPICO skaber mening i deres arbejde - såvel hjemme og på arbejdspladsen under COVID-19. Der fokuseres på, hvordan medarbejderne navigerer i det grænseløse arbejde mellem deres privat- og arbejdsliv. Dette viser sig ved den mening, som medarbejderne tilegner deres identitet, som forstået ved hjælp af Karl Weicks meningsskabelse, samt grænsesætning gennem det grænseløse arbejde og boundary theory. For at analysere projektets empiri, benyttes en kombination af socialkonstruktivisme og fænomenologi, hvilket i sammenspil med det teoretiske perspektiv, giver et indblik i medarbejdernes livsverden. Dette beskriver hvordan forskellige forståelser af familie, arbejde, fritid påvirker balancen i hverdagslivet med øget hjemmearbejde i forbindelse med COVID-19. Projektets konklusion tydeliggør at, der kan ske en en sammensmeltning af medarbejdernes arbejds- og privatliv. Konklusionen giver samtidig indsigt i hvorvidt medarbejdernes work-life balance påvirkes af det øgede grænseløse arbejde. Desuden belyser projektet forskellige aspekter af identiteter i blandt andet alder, arbejdserfaring og opfattelse af hjemmet som arbejdsrum, og om dette har indflydelse på medarbejdernes meningsskabelse. The objective of this research project is to examine how three consultants working for EPICO, navigate through working at home, and in the workplace during the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus of this project then is the navigation and setting of borders between private life and of their work life. This is illuminated through the meaning that is subscribed to the consultant’s identities as it is understood by theories of Sensemaking by Karl Weick, as well as boundaries as presented by boundary theory and The Boundless. In analyzing the empirical evidence, the project utilizes a combination of social constructivism and phenomenology which, in combination with the theoretical framework, grants us a window into the inner world of the interviewees. This describes how different views of family, work, freetime and more allows for a deeper understanding of the process that is balancing life with more home-based work, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project concludes that there is a substantial merging of private and work life for all interviewees. Though, several variations present themselves. This is explained by differences in, among others, age, experience in work and how the interviewed sees the home as a workspace in relation to theories of Sensemaking.

    In this paper, we examine what kind of availability and IT- security challenges have occurred during the transition to home workspaces, with a focus on the utilization of VPN-technology.In order to research this, we performed interviews with remote- working employees and IT-security personnel of large-sized companies, in combination with a thorough technical analysis of the VPN-technology. The intent is to determine how the interplay between managing availability and IT-security have affected the home workspace environments, from both an employee-oriented and technological viewpoint.The results of our investigations show that the utilization of VPN- technology allowing employees secure access to company resources from home workspaces introduced availability challenges, such as slow connections from data bottlenecks due to an increase in active connections. Additionally, the large- scale transition to home workspaces introduced weak points in the connectivity chain which could cause availability issues, such as loss of internet and system failures, which cut the connection to company resources.

    In his paper we want to investigate how Google as a search engine operates. We also seek to investigate how a given website’s rank can be increased on Google, based on the theory of search enginge optimization. In this regard we teamed up with the Human Ressource company, HRtechX, to illustrate how their website ranking on Google could be increased. Our thesis explores whether HrtechXs ranking on Google can be affected by well-known search engine optimization strategies and theory hereabout. We describe the most important and relevant aspects of a search engine which include the following: crawling, indexing, keywords, and ranking. These aspects can be described as the fundamentals for how a search engine operates. The presented theory and methods also helped us visualize the technological system of a search engine, thus making it possible for us to make a visualization of the most effective search engine optimization techniques. At last, we discuss the use of Google's search engine algorithms and how they affect the search results. We conclude that our implementation of search engine optimization on HRtechXs website did not show any significant improvements in regards to increased website traffic. For this reason, we cannot definitively conclude whether search engine optimization has a remarkable effect on the amount of web traffic to websites. However it should be emphasized that we do not reject the possibility of search engine optimization in general, hence our conclusion of the fact that search engine optimization might provide some value to website owners. We also do want to point out the complexity of this marketing strategy, thus making the effect of search engine optimization hard to prove.
