My bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of natural motives in the oldest Czech historiography. I have excerpted references to nature from the Chronicle of Kosmas and from the works of his followers (Mnich sázavský, Kanovník vyšehradský, Vincencius and Jarloch). I mainly dealt with the work of Kosmas and his first followers (Mnich sázavský and Kanovník vyšehradský). In the first chapter, I analysed the mentioned historical works and their authors. The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the nature records. I compared natural phenomena with today's reality and considered how nature influenced the earlier population and whether the phenomena seen were associated with something unearthly. The work includes references to the natural disasters (floods, high winds and fires), mentions of plague and famine, and references to astronomical phenomena (solar and lunar eclipses, sightings of planets, comets, stars and meteors). Finally, I try to find connections between the mentions that are related to nature.

The subject of this thesis is the automatic recognition of question types in various languages. The thesis analyzes types of sentences and types of questions, focuses on their intonation and describes its rules in different languages. The issue is looked at from the perspective of speech synthesis, it emphasizes the importance of the correct generation of prosody and, in particular, the typical tone of different types of questions, so that artificial speech is as natural as possible. It is therefore important to automatically distinguish between the types of questions when pre-processing the text before the synthesis. The current work aims to do so using rules, classifiers and the T5 neural network. These approaches are tested using data in several languages and their accuracy values for question types classification are compared.

This paper analyzes the usage of machine translation in natural language understanding tasks. It explores the possibilities of using Czech machine translation of English datasets for training machine learning models and their application on natural language inference tasks. It uses online machine translation services for dataset translation. The training process utilizes transfer learning and existing pre-trained models. Finally, it evaluates the results of Czech models trained on translated data and compares them to the performance of English models trained on equivalent original data.

In this thesis, we evaluate multiple attribution methods applicable to Transformer models using the SST and CTDC datasets. We extend the CTDC dataset by adding ground-truth annotations based on keywords and pointwise mutual information, creating a ground-truth evaluation benchmark for the Czech language. We fine-tune seven models of various sizes and architectures with five instances each, allowing us to measure the effect of random initialization and model size. We also evaluate a distilled multilingual model on the CTDC dataset, showing that it makes rational decisions even when used with a language less represented in the pre-training process. We test attribution methods with different baseline references and sample counts, providing valuable insight for practical applications. We show that overfitting negatively affects gradient-based attribution methods, while KernelSHAP sees little performance degradation. Tato práce zkoumá atrubuční metody aplikovatelné na Transformer modely pomocí datových sad SST a CTDC. Do datové sady CTDC přidáváme anotace založené na klíčových slovech a bodové vzájemné informaci, čímž umožňujeme evaluaci atribučních metod na české datové sadě. Používáme sedm modelů různých velikostí a architektur, každý s pěti instancemi, což nám umožňuje měřit vliv náhodné inicializace a velikosti modelu.

In this master thesis I deal with the question of the remains of medieval and modern landscape in the mountain area of the Karlovy Vary region with the aim of detecting the degree of preservation of objects located on the surface of the terrain. The aim is to find and document the past written in the nowadays landscape. Furthermore is examined the historical development of villages, towns and manorial settlements located in the defined area in a broad context. The work also includes a field research that took place in the town of Kraslice in the year of 2022.

I created an author's book, or an illustrated guide to 20th century architectural styles. The book is called .ismy. The title is derived from the endings of the names of styles such as constructivismus, brutalismus. The book contains 8 chapters on different architectural styles of modern architecture. It briefly guides the reader through each style, which are accompanied by the author's illustrations. The illustrations are created using vector graphics and focus on buildings constructed in each styles. When creating the illustrations, I focused on perfecting the stylization. The work was meant to educate me about the 20th century for an upcoming oral exam and also serve as a source of knowledge for other people.

The diploma thesis thematically deals with the differences of religiosity within Czech and Slovak society after the split of the common state, with a focus on the Roman Catholic Church. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the influences that shaped the religious thinking and behavior of Czech and Slovak society, and to present an assessment of the different state of religiosity in both countries. The work will focus on the historical, political, institutional and cultural aspects that influenced the development of the church environment, and will assess their impact on religious conditions. The key question of the research will be the analysis of the ability of the church to enter public life, to influence the daily behavior of practicing Christians and those who stand outside the church environment, or overall assessment of the image and perception of the Catholic Church in society. The results of the work will be continuously consulted with the thesis supervisor. Klíčovou otázkou výzkumu bude rozbor schopnosti církve vstupovat do veřejného života, ovlivňovat každodenní chování praktikujících křesťanů i těch, kteří stojí mimo církevní prostředí, popř. celkové posouzení obrazu a vnímání katolické církve ve společnosti. Výsledky práce budou průběžně konzultovány s vedoucím diplomové práce Obhájeno

The topic of my thesis is the Society of Czechoslovak Notaries. The thesis is mainly focused on the historical period and therefore the content of the thesis is not the notariat in the present time. The main aim of the thesis is a brief description of the historical development and all legal regulations that influenced the organization and activities of the institute of notary. The higher aim of the thesis is to introduce the readers to the Society of Czechoslovak Notaries and to acquaint them with the important representatives of this society. The thesis is systematically divided into seven parts, including the introduction and conclusion. The first chapter of the thesis, entitled Notarialism in the Czechoslovak Republic, will be divided into five parts. In the first part of the chapter, the history of notarization is described in a concise manner. The second chapter of my thesis is devoted to federal activities. This part of the thesis summarizes the history of association since ancient Rome. In the following subchapters, I will discuss the most important associations in the period of the First Republic - the Lawyers' Unity in Prague, the Association of German Notaries of the Czechoslovak Republic, the All-Herd Association, the Unity of Notaries in the Kingdom of Bohemia, and the Association for Widows and Orphans of Notaries in the Kingdom of Bohemia. The third chapter focuses on the Society of Notaries of Czechoslovakia. This chapter on this voluntary and most important association is the focus of this thesis. The penultimate chapter deals with publications, i.e. the journal Právník, Všehrd and Zeitschrift für Notariat und freiwillige Gerichtsbarkeit in Österreich. In the last chapter, the fifth, the development of the Bar from 1918 to 1938 is presented. První kapitola práce s názvem Notářství v Československé republice bude rozčleněna do pěti částí. Předposlední kapitola se zabývá publikační činností, tedy časopisem Právník, Všehrd a Zeitschrift für Notariat und freiwillige Gerichtsbarkeit in Österreich.
