    This data set contains digital elevation models and UAV orthomosaics of the Noordwest Natuurkern region near Bloemendaal aan Zee, the Netherlands. Not all elevation models have an associated orthomosaic. A data descriptor paper is currently being written, and will provide full details of data collection and processing, file format, file naming, and so on.     Datasets consisting of 10,000 years of synthetic tropical cyclone tracks, generated using the Synthetic Tropical cyclOne geneRation Model (STORM) algorithm (see Bloemendaal et al, Generation of a Global Synthetic Tropical cyclone Hazard Dataset using STORM, in review). The dataset is generated using historical data from IBTrACS and resembles present-climate conditions. The data can be used to calculate tropical cyclone risk in all (coastal) regions prone to tropical cyclones. VERSION UPDATE (30 Sept 2020): The Saffir-Simpson category thresholds were wrongly calculated in the previous version, this has now been corrected. VERSION UPDATE (18 March 2021): The old version of STORM contained some duplicate cyclone tracks. These have now been removed. VERSION UPDATE (22 July 2022): The last version accidentally still had the old wrong categories ... This version has the right categories AND the duplicates removed! :-)

    UPDATE 30/05/2022: The data directory now also contains .tif files for the fixed wind speeds and fixed return period maps. These .tif files can be used in GIS applications in case the netcdf-files cannot be loaded in. A special thanks to Bastian Manz for writing the code to create the tif files!  Datasets containing tropical cyclone maximum wind speed (in m/s) return periods, generated using the STORM datasets (see https://www.nature.com/articles/s41597-020-0381-2). Return periods were empirically calculated using Weibull's plotting formula. The STORM_FIXED_RETURN_PERIOD dataset contains maximum wind speeds for a fixed set of return periods at 10 km resolution in every ocean basin. The STORM_FIXED_WIND_SPEED dataset contains return periods for a fixed set of maximum wind speeds at 10 km resolution in every ocean basin. The STORM_CITIES dataset contains return periods at fixed wind speeds and wind speeds at fixed return periods (on two seperate sheets), occurring within 100 km from a selection of 18 coastal cities. The STORM_ISLANDS contains return periods at fixed wind speeds and wind speeds at fixed return periods (on two seperate sheets), occurring within 100 km from the capital city of an island. We included the Small Island Developing States and a set of other islands.

    This dataset contains measurement data from drag reduction experiments over hydrophilic and hydrophobic walls in turbulent single-phase and two-phase flows. A Taylor–Couette apparatus was used for the experiments, of which the inner cylinder was made hydrophobic by applying a coating. See readme.txt file for more information regarding the dataset.

    Messenger RNA-seq data of tomato lines affected in the LTP2 gene. RNA isolation To isolate RNA, plant tissues were flash frozen in liquid nitrogen immediately after harvesting and stored at −80°C prior to RNA extraction. Frozen pellets were grounded by using a mortar and pestle before immersion in QIAzol Lysis Reagent (Qiagen). RNA was isolated and purified into two separate fractions (>200 nt and <200 nt) using the miRNeasy Mini kit (Qiagen). For the >200 nt RNA an on-column treatment was included using the RNase-free DNase set (Qiagen). mRNA sequencing protocol A poly-A enrichment was performed on the >200 nt RNA fraction using the NEBNext Poly(A) mRNA Magnetic Isolation Module (New England BioLabs). RNA-Seq libraries were generated according to the manufacturers’ protocols using the NEBNext Ultra II Directional RNA Library Prep Kit for Illumina and NEBNext Multiplex Oligos for Illumina (Unique Dual Index Primer Pairs) (New England BioLabs). The size distribution of the libraries with indexed adapters was assessed using a 2200 TapeStation System with Agilent D1000 ScreenTapes (Agilent Technologies). The libraries were quantified on a QuantStudio 3 Real-Time PCR System (Thermo Fisher Scientific) using the NEBNext Library Quant Kit for Illumina (New England BioLabs) according to the instructions of the manufacturer. The libraries were clustered and sequenced (75 bp) on a NextSeq 550 Sequencing System (Illumina) using a NextSeq 500/550 High Output Kit v2.5 (75 Cycles) (Illumina). The sample list can be found in list_of_samples.csv.
