Vertical temperature profiles were collected from January 1st 2005 to January 6th 2005 from the research vessel Italica during an oceanographic cruise between New Zealand and the Ross Sea in the framework of the Climatic Long Term Interaction for the Mass-balance in Antarctica (CLIMA) project of the Italian National Antarctic Research Programme (PNRA). Sippican T7 Expendable Bathythermograph (XBT) probes with a vertical resolution of 65 cm and a maximum nominal depth of 760 m were used. XBT launches might have been interrupted in case of severe sea and weather conditions. This implies the possible presence of gaps in the sampling. The mean spatial resolutions of the casts is 15 nm. All temperature profiles are quality controlled for consistency between adjacent profiles and through spike editing. Data are provided in TXT format.

Vertical temperature profiles were taken from January 7th 1996 to February 18th 1996 from the research vessel Italica during an oceanographic cruise between New Zealand and the Ross Sea in the framework of the Climatic Long Term Interaction for the Mass-balance in Antarctica (CLIMA) project of the Italian National Antarctic Research Programme (PNRA) using Sippican T7 Expendable Bathythermograph (XBT). Used probes have a vertical resolution of 65 cm and a maximum nominal depth of 760 m. The transects were completed in about 6 days to provide a synoptic picture of the thermal structure of the upper Southern Ocean. A regular 20 nm spatial sampling rate was adopted across the frontal regions of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current. All temperature profiles are quality controlled for consistency between adjacent profiles and through spike editing. Data are in TXT format.

This book presents a collection of original research papers addressing the relationship between information systems (IS) and innovation. “Open”, “Smart” and “Network” are three keywords that are currently guiding information systems (IS) innovation, enhancing IS potentialities and their ability to support decision-making processes. The book discusses the relevance of these three new concepts in connection with technological and organizational innovations (i.e. cloud, smart technologies and networking), and the role they play in the development of accounting and management information systems. The book’s primary aim is to investigate how these innovations could influence information systems (with a particular focus on accounting and management information systems) by enhancing their information potentialities and improving accounting methodologies, performance measurement systems, data management, information systems architectures, and external and internal reporting. The book is based on a selection of the best papers—original double-blind reviewed contributions—presented at the 2016 Annual Conference of the Italian Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (AIS).

The present book aims at studying the origins and the development of the accounting culture in Venice, with a specific focus on the accounting education. The period covered by this work ranges from Luca Pacioli to the foundation (in 1868) of the Regia Scuola Superiore di Commercio (Royal High School of Commerce), which in 2018 will celebrate its 150 anniversary as Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Back in the Middle Ages, Venice was home of a number of favourable circumstances that had been accumulated over the years. As a trading city par excellence, Venice allowed the spreading of the bookkeeping at first among firms and then in the public administration that was much in need of sophisticated accounting tools for the purpose of controlling its activities. As it was a very open city, Venice was the first to implement the Gutenberg print method in Italy, thus quickly turning into the most important city in the world for publishing industry. For this reason, Venice was responsible for both the divulgation of knowledge and the spread of volumes on double-entry bookkeeping and merchant business affairs. The idea of this book arises from the opportunity of highlighting the primary role of Venice as cradle for major accounting scholars, at a time when in other places the subject was not drafted yet. Many works of paramount importance were released in Venice. Accounting education, practitioners activity and managerial culture have long been present in Venice, thus accumulating over the years and finally leading to the foundation of the Scuola Superiore di Commercio – High School of Commerce – in 1868.
