    Authors: Veselá, Martina;

    This diploma thesis focuses on the transformation of foreign policy of the United States of America during one of the largest domestic political crises in the history of USA. Richard Nixon's administration had to face published scandals that occurred during the presidential election, which became publicly known as the Watergate affair. The objective of the thesis is to analyse the impact of the political scandal on the formation of foreign policy. The author will search for answers to the questions as to whether other states took advantage of the temporary weaknesses on the domestic political scene and how the US foreign policy changed in various parts of the world, such as slowing down the détente process or how the policy in Indochina changed. The American President also plays an important role in the complex process of shaping American foreign policy, among other things, and thereby the thesis will also pay attention to Richard Nixon and his relationship with other constitutional authorities that also have influence on foreign policy. Part of the thesis will also include information on the attention that the President paid to foreign policy in crisis management. The thesis itself will be prepared on the basis of published sources and literature in Czech and English. Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na proměnu zahraniční politiky Spojených států amerických v průběhu jedné z největších vnitropolitických krizí v dějinách USA. Administrativa Richarda Nixona musela čelit zveřejněným skandálům, které se udály během prezidentského volebního klání, což vešlo ve všeobecnou známost jako aféra Watergate. Práce si klade za cíl analyzovat vliv politického skandálu na utváření zahraniční politiky. Autorka bude hledat odpovědi na otázky, zda využily ostatní státy dočasné slabosti na vnitropolitické scéně a jak se proměnila zahraniční politika USA v různých částech světa, například ve zpomalení procesu détente nebo jak se proměnila politika v Indočíně. Ve složitém procesu utváření americké zahraniční politiky hraje důležitou roli také americký prezident, mimo jiné se tak práce bude věnovat právě Richardovi Nixonovi a jeho vztahu k ostatním ústavním orgánům, které mají rovněž vliv na zahraniční politiku. Rovněž bude v části práce zmíněno, jak velkou pozornost věnoval prezident zahraniční politice při řešení krize. Samotná práce pak bude zpracována na základě vydaných pramenů a literatury v českém a anglickém jazyce. Obhájeno

    Authors: Jackson, Ladislav;

    Phoebe Apperson Hearst měla velmi úspěšného vlastního syna Williama, který byl ale více jako jeho otec: tvrdý obchodník. Našla však jemnou, uměleckou duši v malíři Orrinu Peckovi (1860–1921), který byl údajně gay a který ji, ještě za života své vlastní matky, začal oslovovat „má druhá mámo.“ Na základě podrobného výzkumu jejich vzájemné korespondence v Peckově pozůstalosti se můžeme ptát, jak moc si byla progresivní, bohatá žena 19. století, jakou byla Phoebe Hearst, vědoma Peckovy sexuality a pokud ano, jestli s tím neměla problém, nebo šlo o nevyřčené tajemství mezi nimi? Jejich příběh představí historik umění Ladislav Zikmund-Lender. Phoebe Apperson Hearst had a very successful son of William, but he was more like his father: a tough businessman. However, she found a delicate, artistic soul in the painter Orrin Peck (1860–1921), who was allegedly gay and who, while still his own mother's life, began to address her as “my second mother.” Based on a detailed study of their correspondence in Peck's estate, we may ask how much a progressive, rich 19th-century woman like Phoebe Hearst was aware of Peck's sexuality, and if so, if she had no problem with it, or was it an unspoken secret between them? Their story will be presented by art historian Ladislav Zikmund-Lender.

    Authors: Cajthamlová, Vladimíra;

    This bachelor thesis is an analysis of the development of mutual relations between selected NATO allies under the administration of the current American President Donald Trump in the 2017-2019 period. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the influence and strenght which the American President has at his disposal in his office on the development of relations in such an important security organization as the NATO is. The case studies of four key European allies demonstrate how much Donald Trump's administration changed the mutual relations, which had been established and solidified between the allies over 70 years of NATO existence. Tato bakalářská práce je analýzou vývoje vzájemných vztahů mezi vybranými členy NATO za administrativy Donalda Trumpa v rozmezí let 2017-2019. Cílem této studie je vylíčit čtenáři, jaký vliv má americký prezident ve svém úřadu na vývoj vztahů v rámci tak důležité bezpečnostní organizace, jakou je právě NATO. Případové studie čtyř vybraných evropských spojenců poukazují na to, jak se za Trumpovy administrativy proměnily vzájemné vztahy, které byly mezi členy ukotveny po 70 let existence NATO. Obhájeno

    Authors: Krejcar, Matyáš;

    This Theis describes relations between Mexico and the United states of america during the second half of 19th century, the mexican revolution and the first world war. The period of reign of Porfirio Díaz and the first half of mexican revolution is important becouse of continuity of diplomatic relations on the western hemisphere before and during the first world war. Main focus of the thesis is political relations, with military and economic affairs discussed if needed for understanding of those relations. The Plan of San Diego is not discussed becouse of it´s complicated and uncertain origins and neglidgable relations to the main diplomatic relations. The Zimmerman telegram is discussed as part of the relations between USA, Mexico and Germany, not in the context of it´s impact on US public opinion and entry to the war. Práce popisuje vztahy mezi USA a Mexikem v období druhé poloviny 19. století, mexické revoluce a první světové války. Období vlády prezidenta Porfiria Díaze a první poloviny mexické revoluce jsou důležitá z hlediska kontinuity mezinárodních vztahů na západní polokouli mezi tímto obdobím a dobou první světové války. Práce se zaměřuje na dějiny politických vztahů těchto zemí, s přihlédnutím k ekonomickým a vojenským záležitostem v otázkách, kde je to nezbytné pro pochopení vztahů obou zemí. Práce se nevěnuje problematice Plánu ze San Diega pro dodnes neobjasněné okolnosti jeho vzniku a obtížné zařazení do kontextu hlavní linie politických vztahů. Zimmermanův telegram je pak zpracováván pouze v kontextu Mexicko-Americko-Německých vztahů v období první světové války, nikoliv z hlediska jeho dopadu na americkou veřenost. Obhájeno

    The topic of this bachelor thesis is the repatriation of the patient through the emergency medical service. It deals with the description of the procedure of returning the patient back to the homeland. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the emergency medical service, its parts, activities and providers. Subsequently, Repatriation, its types and course are described. The practical part is performed by qualitative research in the form of case reports of patients who were transported to their homeland through the emergency medical service. Téma této bakalářské práce je repatriace pacienta prostřednictvím zdravotnické záchranné služby. Zabývá se popisem postupu návratu pacienta zpět do vlasti. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, na teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretické části je popsána zdravotnická záchranná služba, její části, činnosti a poskytovatelé. Následně je popsána Repatriace, její typy a průběh. Praktická část je provedena kvalitativním výzkumem formou kazuistik pacientů, kteří byli transportováni do vlasti prostřednictvím zdravotnické záchranné služby. Obhájeno

    Authors: Hozmanová, Veronika;

    The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce and analyse the situation of a selected group of Lebanese immigrants in the Czech Republic. Specifically, it focuses on the social integration of educated and highly skilled Lebanese who have left amidst the deteriorating economic and political situation in the country over the last 15 years. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The former aims to briefly explain the events that have taken place in Lebanon in recent years. As respondents often mention them in the interviews, it is important to put the information in an economic and political context. It also defines the theoretical concepts that I draw on in the data analysis. In the practical part, I present the outcomes of the qualitative research I conducted as part of this thesis. Its first part compares each respondent's perspective on a given area of life in the Czech Republic, including employment or language learning, and presents their perspective on events in Lebanon. The second part then analyses their experiences through the dimensions of social integration and presents a summary of the push and pull factors that led respondents to immigrate to the Czech Republic. Cílem této bakalářské práce je zmapovat a analyzovat situaci vybrané skupiny libanonských imigrantů v České republice. Konkrétně se soustředí na sociální integraci přistěhovalců z řad vzdělaných a vysoce kvalifikovaných Libanonců, kteří odešli během zhoršující se ekonomické a politické situace v zemi v posledních 15 letech. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. První si klade za cíl ve stručnosti vysvětlit události, které se v Libanonu v posledních letech udály. Respondenti o nich často ve svých výpovědích mluví, proto považuji za důležité informace uvést do ekonomicko-politického kontextu. Také definuje teoretické koncepty, o které se poté opírám v analýze dat. V praktické části pak představuji výstupy z kvalitativního výzkumu, který jsem v rámci této práce uskutečnila. Její první část porovnává perspektivu jednotlivých respondentů na dané oblasti života v České republice, včetně zaměstnání nebo studia jazyka, a přibližuje jejich pohled na události v Libanonu. Druhá část pak analyzuje jejich zkušenosti skrze dimenze sociální integrace a přináší souhrn push a pull faktorů, které respondenty k migraci do České republiky vedly. Obhájeno

    Authors: Pilař, Tomáš;

    The bachelor thesis focuses on the description of the Institute of Impeachment of the President of the United States of America with regard to its original role and significance. The theoretical part outlines the historical roots of American impeachment and the way in which it spread to the United States. Subsequently, the thesis presents and interprets the debate of the creators of the federal constitution, the so-called Founding Fathers, dealing with the original meaning of the presidential impeachment. In the second part, the work focuses on the description of the processes of impeachment with the former US presidents. On this basis, through a scholar constitutional-political science debate, it presents a changing historical interpretation of this institute in the context of its role and meaning. The thesis thus provides a comparison, i.e., an assessment of the extent to which the Institute of Impeachment of the President in individual cases approached or departed from the original intention of the Founding Fathers. Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na popis institutu impeachmentu prezidenta Spojených států amerických s ohledem na jeho původní roli a význam. V teoretické části jsou nastíněny historické kořeny amerického impeachmentu a způsob, jakým se přenesl do oblasti Spojených států. Následně práce představuje a interpretuje debatu tvůrců federální ústavy, tzv. Otců zakladatelů, zabývajících se původním smyslem impeachmentu prezidenta. Ve druhé části se práce zaměřuje na popis dosud proběhlých procesů impeachmentu s americkými prezidenty. Na tomto základě pak prostřednictvím odborné ústavně-politologické debaty představuje měnící se historickou interpretaci tohoto institutu v kontextu jeho role a významu. Práce tak nabízí komparaci, tedy posouzení toho, do jaké míry se institut impeachmentu prezidenta v jednotlivých případech přibližoval či vzdaloval od původního záměru Otců zakladatelů. Obhájeno

    Authors: Halama, Michal;

    The submitted master thesis is focused on defining the environment in which logistics providers operate and also on the introduction of outsourcing in logistics. At present, there are a large number of logistics service providers and their boundaries overlap in some cases, so the thesis, including the definition of the environment, also deals with the definition and understanding of individual providers. To clarify this issue, a specific provider was chosen, namely the company HOPI, which is further characterized in the thesis and whose services (activities) are characterized and analyzed in detail. In the case of outsourcing, important relations are with clients, the content of which is recorded with HOPI's clients. The company HOPI operates in logistics, where are mainly clients-suppliers and clients-subscribers, and the difference between these clients is described in the thesis. Předložená diplomová práce je zaměřena na vymezení prostředí, na němž působí logističtí provideři a také na představení outsourcingu v logistice. V současnosti existuje velké množství poskytovatelů logistických služeb a jejich hranice se v některých případech překrývají, proto se diplomová práce včetně vymezení prostředí věnuje také vymezení a chápání jednotlivých providerů. Pro objasnění této problematiky byl zvolen konkrétní provider, a to společnost HOPI, která je v práci blíže charakterizována a jejíž poskytované služby (činnosti) jsou v práci charakterizovány a analyzovány. V případě outsourcingu jsou důležité vztahy s klienty, jejichž obsah je ke klientům společnosti HOPI zaznamenaný. Společnost HOPI působí v logistice, kde existují především klienti dodavatelé a klienti odběratelé a rozdíl mezi těmito klienty je v práci popsán. Obhájeno

    Authors: Idelbaev, Timur;

    In the current information age, technologies are affecting all areas of life, including politics. Many state institutions, international organizations and courts maintain accounts on social networks to interact with society. Heads of state are no exception. While in the previous century world leaders were in contact with the public through press releases, television and radio, their modern counterparts rely primarily on social media. Emmanuel Macron, Narendra Modi, Nicolás Maduro and other world leaders are active on Facebook, Twitter, etc. That being said, Donald Trump went even further in this regard. The former US president built his entire political strategy around his Twitter profile: he used it as a platform to spread his ideas, writing more than 25,000 tweets during his presidency. This work is devoted to the analysis of tweets of the 45 US president after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the first part of the work I will dwell on the conceptual framework of the issue. The concepts of populism, nativism, post-truth and the phenomenon of fake news, to which Trump resorted repeatedly during his presidency, will be discussed. The next chapter will focus on American media such as Fox News, OANN or Infowars, which Trump vigorously followed. In the main part of the work, Trump's activity on Twitter since the emergence of the COVID-19 will be scrutinized. I will give answers to the following questions: How did the politician treat the disease in the early stages? What, according to him, was the cause of the virus? What did Trump think about the spread of the coronavirus into the territory of the United States? Did he consider it pernicious? One of the most important questions of the work will be how the former president's attitude to the coronavirus changed depending on Trump's current agenda, especially at the time of the elections to the Senate and House of Representatives and the presidential elections. In conclusion, an overall assessment of Trump's communication style will be given. V současné informační éře technologie pronikají do všech oblastí života včetně politiky. Mnohé státní instituce, mezinárodní organizace a soudy vedou účty na sociálních sítích, aby komunikovaly se společností. Hlavy států nejsou výjimkou. Zatímco v předchozím století světoví lídři byli ve styku s veřejností prostřednictvím tiskových zpráv, televize a rozhlasu, jejich moderní protějšky spoléhají především na sociální sítě. Emmanuel Macron, Naréndra Módí, Nicolás Maduro a další hlavy států aktivně vedou účty na Facebook, Twitter atd. Donald Trump však šel v tomto ohledu ještě dál. Bývalý americký prezident postavil svou celou politickou strategii kolem profilu na Twitteru: použil ho jako platformu pro šíření svého světopohledu a napsal více než 25 000 tweetů za dobu svého prezidentství. Daná práce je věnována analýze tweetů 45. prezidenta Spojených států po vypuknutí pandemie COVID-19. V první části práce se budu zabývat koncepčním rámcem problematiky. Budou rozebrány pojmy populismus, nativismus, postpravda a fenomén fake news, ke kterému se Trump během svého prezidentství uchýlil opakovaně. Další kapitola se zaměří na americká média jako jsou Fox News, OANN nebo InfoWars, odkud bývalý prezident často čerpal informace pro své tweety. V hlavní části práce bude pečlivě analyzována aktivita Trumpa na Twitteru od objevení viru COVID-19. Dám odpovědi na následující otázky: Jak se politik choval k nemoci v prvních stádiích? Co bylo podle něj příčinou vzniku viru? Co si Trump myslel o proniknutí koronaviru na území Spojených států? Považoval ho za něco zhoubného? Jednou z nejdůležitějších otázek práce bude to, jak se měnil postoj bývalého prezidenta ke koronaviru v závislosti na aktuální agendě Trumpa, a to zejména v době voleb do Senátu a Sněmovny reprezentantů a prezidentských voleb. Na závěr bude dáno celkové hodnocení Trumpové činnosti v oblasti sociálních sítí. Obhájeno

    Authors: Veselá, Martina;

Obhájeno

    Authors: Cajthamlová, Vladimíra;

Obhájeno
