    The Mother Of Unification Studies (MOUS) dataset contains multimodal neuroimaging data that has been acquired from 204 healthy human subjects. The neuroimaging protocol consisted of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to derive information at high spatial resolution about brain anatomy and structural connections, as well as functional data during task, and at rest. In addition, magnetoencephalography (MEG) was used to obtain high temporal resolution electrophysiological measurements during task, and at rest. All subjects performed a language task, during which they had to process linguistic utterances that either consisted of normal or scrambled sentences. Half of the subjects were reading the stimuli, the other half listened to the stimuli. The resting state measurements consisted of 5minutes eyes-open for the MEG and 7 minutes eyes-closed for fMRI. The neuroimaging data, as well as the information about the experimental events are shared according to the Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS) format. This unprecedented neuroimaging language data collection allows for the investigation of various aspects of the neurobiological correlates of language.

    Authors: Stichting Mondelinge Geschiedenis Indonesië (SMGI); Koninklijk Instituut voor Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde (KITLV);

    Dit interview bestaat uit twee gesprekken: 1323.1 en 1323.2.1323.1 De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe hij opgroeide in Indië. Tijdens de bezetting verhuisde hij steeds naar andere plaatsen en wist buiten het kamp te blijven. Hij woonde in Soerabaja waar hij mensen hielp met verhuizen en net als andere jongeren dingen van de Japanners stal. De geïnterviewde werkte na de capitulatie bij het Rode Kruis en later voor de civiele politie. Na de hbs ging de geïnterviewde in 1950 bij een groot bedrijf aan de slag. Hij geeft een beschrijving van de werksituatie in deze tijd.1323.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de omstandigheden in Indië met betrekking tot zijn werk gedurende de jaren 50. De geïnterviewde gaat in op de politieke en economische situatie en vertelt over de vakbonden en stakingen. Het bedrijf is Engels en werd daardoor eind 1957 niet overgenomen. Tot slot gaat de geïnterviewde in op zijn werk in Nederland en hoe deze werkvloer verschilde van die in Indië. Date Submitted: 2012-03-21

    Authors: McIntosh Run Watershed Association;

    The McIntosh Run Watershed Association (MRWA) began in 1994 as a voice for the McIntosh Run, its tributary waters and the land within its watershed. The goals of MRWA are to further conservation and community stewardship of and to facilitate sustainable public access to the McIntosh Run watershed. Over the past 20+ years the association has undertaken long-term stewardship projects within the watershed. Partnering with local elementary and high schools as well as local universities the MRWA engages youth in hands on ecological stewardship. Ongoing projects include “Fish Friends” a program with the local elementary school to raise and release Brook Trout into the McIntosh Run. The MRWA partners with J.L. Isley High School for an annual River Cleanup in June. We have also partnered with university students to survey ecological communities within the watershed and restore and rehabilitate habitat along the river system. Hobo temperature data logger.

    Authors: L. Theunissen;

    In 2016 is een merkwaardig bronzen voorwerp in een bosperceel ten noordwesten van het gehucht Walik bij Riethoven (gemeente Bergeijk) ontdekt en gemeld. Het gaat om een langgerekt, plat en licht trapeziumvormige object met stompe uiteinden. Opvallend zijn de kleine gehamerde vlakken aan het oppervlak die doen denken aan dat van een deels geslepen vuurstenen bijl. Vooralsnog zijn geen parallellen bekend, niet in Nederland of daarbuiten. Het zou kunnen gaan om een (fraai uitgevoerd) halffabricaat van een vlakbijl of om een bijlvormige baar. De vondst van deze protobijl/baar gaf aanleiding tot een contextbepalend onderzoek ter plaatse dat in maart 2019 is uitgevoerd. Daaraan voorafgaand is een bureaustudie verricht, met als doel een goed inzicht te krijgen in de archeologisch-landschappelijke situatie. Na inmeting van de vondstlocatie bleek het object afkomstig te zijn van het archeologisch rijksmonument Riethoven-Hobbelerheide (45940) dat in 1966 was aangewezen vanwege de aanwezigheid van sporen van begravingen uit de late prehistorie. Uit het bureauonderzoek kwam naar voren dat de omgeving van Walik-Riethoven archeologisch zeer rijk is. Er zijn allerlei vondsten ontdekt die aangeven dat de zone van de hoge dekzandruggen naar het lager gelegen beekdal van de Run lange tijd aantrekkelijk was voor bewoning en begraving. Concentraties van aardewerk uit de late ijzertijd/Romeinse tijd, (vuur-)stenen bijlen en andere vuurstenen artefacten uit het midden- en laat-neolithicum zijn daar onder meer de getuigen van. Het Actueel Hoogtebestand Nederland (AHN) laat redelijk wat microreliëf zien op het bosperceel van het rijksmonument, zeker in vergelijking met de omliggende akkerlandpercelen die sterk genivelleerd zijn. In het microreliëf lijkt een urnheuvel zichtbaar die ook in 2002 tijdens een veldinspectie in het kader van het Actualisering Monumentenregister is waargenomen. Ook karrensporen tekenen zich duidelijk af. Deze sporen maken onderdeel uit van een oostwest-georiënteerde route die de gehuchten Schadewijk en Walik verbond. Op basis daarvan werd na het bureauonderzoek vermoed dat de inslijting van wielen een verstorend effect op het bodemarchief kan hebben gehad. Die verwachting kwam tijdens het gravende onderzoek uit. Op de aangewezen plek is handmatig een werkput van 2 x 2 m gegraven waar een donkere, humeuze verkleuring (spoor 10) zich vaag aftekende. De helft van dit spoor bleek doorsneden door karrensporen. Een flink deel van het zandige sediment uit de spoorvulling (6,4 liter) is in het laboratorium van de rijksdienst bestudeerd. Eerst is het met de handheld-XRF onderzocht, daarna is het sediment gezeefd. Vervolgens is het residu door de archeobotanisch specialist van de rijksdienst bekeken. Die analyse leverde onder meer een klein fragment van verkoold worteltje/takje op dat door middel van 14C-analyse is gedateerd. Dat leverde een absolute datering op van 669-776 cal n.Chr. Deze uitkomst is opmerkelijk omdat er zeer weinig aanwijzingen zijn dat het gebied in de vroege middeleeuwen is gebruikt. Daarnaast werd duidelijk dat het sediment van de spoorvulling een opvallend hoog loodgehalte had en dat het veel resten bevatte van recente wortels, zaden, kevers en mijten. Beide wijzen op de invloed van recente processen: op depositie van benzine-emissie en op een actief bodemleven. Ten aanzien van de context van de bronzen protobijl/baar heeft het veldwerk weinig duidelijkheid opgeleverd. Het bronzen voorwerp is vrij ondiep, op ca. 20 cm onder maaiveld, gevonden. Dit gegeven in combinatie met de directe nabijheid van de insneden karrensporen maakt het aannemelijk dat het object niet (meer) in situ lag, maar in secundaire positie. Tijdens het veldwerk was ook aandacht voor de fysieke staat van het rijksmonument. Er is een visuele inspectie uitgevoerd en er is een serie gerichte boringen gezet, onder meer op de locatie waar zeer lage heuvels te zien waren. Daar bleek een afgedekt oud oppervlak aanwezig te zijn. Dat zijn zeer waarschijnlijk restanten van urnheuvels die onderdeel uitmaakt van een urnenveld dat ruim vijftig jaar geleden bij de bosaanplant is waargenomen. De boringen als ook het aanwezige microreliëf geven aan dat het rijksmonument vrij goed intact is. De waargenomen verstoringen zijn enerzijds enkele oude ingravingen (kuilen) en anderzijds een flink aantal ontwortelde bomen (windworpen) die zijn veroorzaakt door heftige stormwinden in de afgelopen tien jaar. Aangezien het veldwerk weinig aanknopingspunten had opgeleverd over de context van de protobijl/baar is in januari 2021 een XRF-analyse aan het oppervlak van het bronzen object uitgevoerd. De aanwezigheid van de elementen zilver, arseen, nikkel en lood geven aan dat het kopererts waarvan de protobijl is gemaakt waarschijnlijk een fahlerts (fahlerz/fahlore) is. Het hoge gehalte arseen (3%) kan wijzen op de overgang van arseenkoper naar brons, wat een vroege datering impliceert, in de vroege bronstijd. Deze suggestie van de ouderdom past bij de uiterlijke kenmerken – bij de diepgroene kleur van het patina, de verwering en de kleine gehamerde vlakken – en bij de overblijfselen uit de late prehistorie op basis waarvan het rijksmonument destijds is aangewezen. Het is aannemelijk dat het object door de insnijding van karrenwielen is verplaatst. Dat betekent dat de oorspronkelijke context – wat dat ook moge zijn geweest, een graf, een depositieplek of anderszins – niet meer aanwezig is.

    Authors: Schoffelen, J.M. (Jan Mathijs); Oostenveld, R. (Robert); Nietzsche Lam; Julia Udden; +2 Authors

    Dit interview bestaat uit twee gesprekken: 1323.1 en 1323.2.1323.1 De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe hij opgroeide in Indië. Tijdens de bezetting verhuisde hij steeds naar andere plaatsen en wist buiten het kamp te blijven. Hij woonde in Soerabaja waar hij mensen hielp met verhuizen en net als andere jongeren dingen van de Japanners stal. De geïnterviewde werkte na de capitulatie bij het Rode Kruis en later voor de civiele politie. Na de hbs ging de geïnterviewde in 1950 bij een groot bedrijf aan de slag. Hij geeft een beschrijving van de werksituatie in deze tijd.1323.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de omstandigheden in Indië met betrekking tot zijn werk gedurende de jaren 50. De geïnterviewde gaat in op de politieke en economische situatie en vertelt over de vakbonden en stakingen. Het bedrijf is Engels en werd daardoor eind 1957 niet overgenomen. Tot slot gaat de geïnterviewde in op zijn werk in Nederland en hoe deze werkvloer verschilde van die in Indië. Date Submitted: 2012-03-21

    Authors: McIntosh Run Watershed Association;

    Authors: L. Theunissen;

    In 2016 is een merkwaardig bronzen voorwerp in een bosperceel ten noordwesten van het gehucht Walik bij Riethoven (gemeente Bergeijk) ontdekt en gemeld. Het gaat om een langgerekt, plat en licht trapeziumvormige object met stompe uiteinden. Opvallend zijn de kleine gehamerde vlakken aan het oppervlak die doen denken aan dat van een deels geslepen vuurstenen bijl. Vooralsnog zijn geen parallellen bekend, niet in Nederland of daarbuiten. Het zou kunnen gaan om een (fraai uitgevoerd) halffabricaat van een vlakbijl of om een bijlvormige baar. De vondst van deze protobijl/baar gaf aanleiding tot een contextbepalend onderzoek ter plaatse dat in maart 2019 is uitgevoerd. Daaraan voorafgaand is een bureaustudie verricht, met als doel een goed inzicht te krijgen in de archeologisch-landschappelijke situatie. Na inmeting van de vondstlocatie bleek het object afkomstig te zijn van het archeologisch rijksmonument Riethoven-Hobbelerheide (45940) dat in 1966 was aangewezen vanwege de aanwezigheid van sporen van begravingen uit de late prehistorie. Uit het bureauonderzoek kwam naar voren dat de omgeving van Walik-Riethoven archeologisch zeer rijk is. Er zijn allerlei vondsten ontdekt die aangeven dat de zone van de hoge dekzandruggen naar het lager gelegen beekdal van de Run lange tijd aantrekkelijk was voor bewoning en begraving. Concentraties van aardewerk uit de late ijzertijd/Romeinse tijd, (vuur-)stenen bijlen en andere vuurstenen artefacten uit het midden- en laat-neolithicum zijn daar onder meer de getuigen van. Het Actueel Hoogtebestand Nederland (AHN) laat redelijk wat microreliëf zien op het bosperceel van het rijksmonument, zeker in vergelijking met de omliggende akkerlandpercelen die sterk genivelleerd zijn. In het microreliëf lijkt een urnheuvel zichtbaar die ook in 2002 tijdens een veldinspectie in het kader van het Actualisering Monumentenregister is waargenomen. Ook karrensporen tekenen zich duidelijk af. Deze sporen maken onderdeel uit van een oostwest-georiënteerde route die de gehuchten Schadewijk en Walik verbond. Op basis daarvan werd na het bureauonderzoek vermoed dat de inslijting van wielen een verstorend effect op het bodemarchief kan hebben gehad. Die verwachting kwam tijdens het gravende onderzoek uit. Op de aangewezen plek is handmatig een werkput van 2 x 2 m gegraven waar een donkere, humeuze verkleuring (spoor 10) zich vaag aftekende. De helft van dit spoor bleek doorsneden door karrensporen. Een flink deel van het zandige sediment uit de spoorvulling (6,4 liter) is in het laboratorium van de rijksdienst bestudeerd. Eerst is het met de handheld-XRF onderzocht, daarna is het sediment gezeefd. Vervolgens is het residu door de archeobotanisch specialist van de rijksdienst bekeken. Die analyse leverde onder meer een klein fragment van verkoold worteltje/takje op dat door middel van 14C-analyse is gedateerd. Dat leverde een absolute datering op van 669-776 cal n.Chr. Deze uitkomst is opmerkelijk omdat er zeer weinig aanwijzingen zijn dat het gebied in de vroege middeleeuwen is gebruikt. Daarnaast werd duidelijk dat het sediment van de spoorvulling een opvallend hoog loodgehalte had en dat het veel resten bevatte van recente wortels, zaden, kevers en mijten. Beide wijzen op de invloed van recente processen: op depositie van benzine-emissie en op een actief bodemleven. Ten aanzien van de context van de bronzen protobijl/baar heeft het veldwerk weinig duidelijkheid opgeleverd. Het bronzen voorwerp is vrij ondiep, op ca. 20 cm onder maaiveld, gevonden. Dit gegeven in combinatie met de directe nabijheid van de insneden karrensporen maakt het aannemelijk dat het object niet (meer) in situ lag, maar in secundaire positie. Tijdens het veldwerk was ook aandacht voor de fysieke staat van het rijksmonument. Er is een visuele inspectie uitgevoerd en er is een serie gerichte boringen gezet, onder meer op de locatie waar zeer lage heuvels te zien waren. Daar bleek een afgedekt oud oppervlak aanwezig te zijn. Dat zijn zeer waarschijnlijk restanten van urnheuvels die onderdeel uitmaakt van een urnenveld dat ruim vijftig jaar geleden bij de bosaanplant is waargenomen. De boringen als ook het aanwezige microreliëf geven aan dat het rijksmonument vrij goed intact is. De waargenomen verstoringen zijn enerzijds enkele oude ingravingen (kuilen) en anderzijds een flink aantal ontwortelde bomen (windworpen) die zijn veroorzaakt door heftige stormwinden in de afgelopen tien jaar. Aangezien het veldwerk weinig aanknopingspunten had opgeleverd over de context van de protobijl/baar is in januari 2021 een XRF-analyse aan het oppervlak van het bronzen object uitgevoerd. De aanwezigheid van de elementen zilver, arseen, nikkel en lood geven aan dat het kopererts waarvan de protobijl is gemaakt waarschijnlijk een fahlerts (fahlerz/fahlore) is. Het hoge gehalte arseen (3%) kan wijzen op de overgang van arseenkoper naar brons, wat een vroege datering impliceert, in de vroege bronstijd. Deze suggestie van de ouderdom past bij de uiterlijke kenmerken – bij de diepgroene kleur van het patina, de verwering en de kleine gehamerde vlakken – en bij de overblijfselen uit de late prehistorie op basis waarvan het rijksmonument destijds is aangewezen. Het is aannemelijk dat het object door de insnijding van karrenwielen is verplaatst. Dat betekent dat de oorspronkelijke context – wat dat ook moge zijn geweest, een graf, een depositieplek of anderszins – niet meer aanwezig is.
