    Authors: Kalouda František;

    The paper is devoted to the topic of economic crises. It confronts various theoretical opinions on the possibility / necessity of the onset of the economic crisis. It also presents the opinions of business practice on the possibilities of crisis management in the economy. It also touches on the potential for economic cybernetics to tackle or avert economic crises. Popularizační příspěvek je věnovám tématu ekonomických krizí. Konfrontuje různá teoretická stanoviska k možnosti/nutnosti nástupu ekonomické krize. Uvádí též stanoviska podnikové praxe k možnostem krizového řízení v ekonomice. Dotýká se i potenciálních možností ekonomické kybernetiky řešit a nebo odvracet ekonomické krize.

    Webinář představuje zákadní dílčí oblasti konceptu library advocacy a možnosti jeho využití ve vysokoškolských knihovnách. Věnuje se představení principů celého konceptu a dále jeho rozdělení na praxi library advocacy od knihovny samotné a od jejich stakeholderů. Dále je prostor věnován hodnotám, které vysokoškolská knihovna vytváří. Následují ukázky kampaní ze zahraničních knihoven v souladu s dobrou praxí library advocacy.

    Authors: Jackson, Ladislav;

    Phoebe Apperson Hearst měla velmi úspěšného vlastního syna Williama, který byl ale více jako jeho otec: tvrdý obchodník. Našla však jemnou, uměleckou duši v malíři Orrinu Peckovi (1860–1921), který byl údajně gay a který ji, ještě za života své vlastní matky, začal oslovovat „má druhá mámo.“ Na základě podrobného výzkumu jejich vzájemné korespondence v Peckově pozůstalosti se můžeme ptát, jak moc si byla progresivní, bohatá žena 19. století, jakou byla Phoebe Hearst, vědoma Peckovy sexuality a pokud ano, jestli s tím neměla problém, nebo šlo o nevyřčené tajemství mezi nimi? Jejich příběh představí historik umění Ladislav Zikmund-Lender. Phoebe Apperson Hearst had a very successful son of William, but he was more like his father: a tough businessman. However, she found a delicate, artistic soul in the painter Orrin Peck (1860–1921), who was allegedly gay and who, while still his own mother's life, began to address her as “my second mother.” Based on a detailed study of their correspondence in Peck's estate, we may ask how much a progressive, rich 19th-century woman like Phoebe Hearst was aware of Peck's sexuality, and if so, if she had no problem with it, or was it an unspoken secret between them? Their story will be presented by art historian Ladislav Zikmund-Lender.

    Authors: Cígler Hynek; Šamajová Vendula;

    Předchozí výzkumy se vesměs shodují na tom, že matematické schopnosti souvisejí s řadou aspektů lidského života: např. velikostí příjmu, zaměstnatelností, kariérním postupem či životní spokojeností. Nicméně výrazně nižší shoda panuje na tom, co to tedy matematické schopnosti jsou a jaká je jejich podstata. V našem příspěvku shrneme různé přístupy ke studiu matematických a prematematických schopností. Pokusíme se tyto schopnosti rovněž postavit vedle jiných kognitivních schopností, a to zejména z pohledu CHC teorie inteligence, a popíšeme i kognitivní procesy vedoucí ke správnému, anebo naopak specificky chybnému řešení matematických úloh. Dále představíme tzv. „kognitivní prerekvizity“ numerického a prenumerického myšlení, tedy fylogeneticky ukotvené kognitivní procesy umožňující operace s množstvím. Tyto teoretické poznatky pak vztáhneme i k jiným oblastem psychologického výzkumu: např. k mezikulturním odlišnostem, vlivu motivace a genderových stereotypů na matematický výkon. Rovněž ukážeme, že již zmíněná souvislost „matematických schopností“ s různými pozitivními aspekty života je pouze zdánlivá a skutečné kauzální příčiny zřejmě leží jinde. Závěrem pak zmíníme možnosti využití některých neurálních korelátů a kognitivních prekurzorů matematického myšlení nejen v oblasti diagnostiky dyskalkulie a představíme náš pilotní výzkum v této oblasti. Previous research showed that mathematical abilities are related to many aspects of human life as income levels, employability, career advancement, or life satisfaction. However, there is a much lower consensus on what they are. We will summarize various approaches, how to study mathematical and prematematical abilities. We will also try to locate these abilities alongside other cognitive abilities, especially from the perspective of the CHC theory of intelligence, and we will also describe the cognitive processes leading to correct or wrong solutions of mathematical problems. Furthermore, we introduce the so-called "cognitive prerequisites" of numerical and prenumerical thinking, ie cognitive processes enabling operations with quantities. We then relate these theoretical findings to other areas of psychological research: intercultural differences, the influence of motivation and gender stereotypes on mathematical performance. We will also show that the this link between “mathematical abilities” and the various positive aspects of life is rather false and the real causal causes seem to be different. Finally, we will mention the possibilities of using some neural correlates and cognitive precursors of mathematical thinking not only in the field of diagnosis of dyscalculia and we will present our pilot research in this area.

    Presented publication is a collection of 40 abstracts of papers, which are conferred at the 39th annual meeting "Problems of the Neolithic and Eneolithic". The contributions are divided into four thematic blocks, which build on a long research tradition in Central Europe and reflect the new needs and directions of archaeology. Student session as a suitable platform for meeting with the next generation of archaeologists with professionals represents a separate block. The collection also includes invited lectures, which present new paradigmatic approaches to the interpretation of the archaeological record in the Neolithic and Eneolithic. The discussion session is devoted to currently intensively debated questions of settlement waste. This session concludes with memories of the most experienced researchers and their legacy for future generations of archaeologists. Publikace představuje soubor 40 abstraktů příspěvků, které jsou prezentovány na 39. ročníku konference Otázky neolitu a eneolitu. Příspěvky jsou rozděleny do čtyř tematických okruhů, které navazují na dlouhou badatelskou tradici ve středoevropském prostoru a reflektují nové potřeby a směřování archeologie. Samostatným tematickým blokem je studentská sekce, která představuje vhodnou platformu pro setkání nastupující generace s profesionály v oboru. Součástí sborníku jsou i zvané přednášky, které představují nové paradigmatické přístupy k interpretaci archeologických nálezů z období neolitu a eneolitu, a také diskusní příspěvky věnované v současnosti intenzivně diskutované problematice sídlištního odpadu. Diskusní sekce je ukončená postřehy nejzkušenějších badatelů a jejich vzkazem pro budoucí generaci archeologů.

    Dotazník SPARO tradičně patří k jedněm z nejčastěji používaných metod v české psychodiagnostické praxi. V nedávno publikované sérii dvou studií (Cígler a Rudá, 2021a; 2021b) jsme však na datech z reálné testové situace v policejním kontextu ukázali, že dotazník má neakceptovatelně nízkou reliabilitu, faktorovou validitu i konvergentní validitu vůči dotazníku MMPI 2. Výhrady nízké faktorové validity a reliability pak do určité míry platily i pro MMPI 2. Co to znamená pro praktickou psychologickou diagnostiku? Proč se domníváme, že kvůli těmto nedostatkům nelze SPARO použít jako důvěryhodnou diagnostickou metodu? Během krátké workshopu představím hlavní výzkumná zjištění a podrobně popíšu, jaké jsou jejich důsledky pro použití dotazníku SPARO v praxi. K účasti na workshopu není třeba žádných pokročilých znalostí statistiky či psychometriky.

    An essay on conflicting goals in democracy promotion, especially with respect to the many dilemmas arms trade/arms exports entail. I show why and how the idea of global democracy can be invoked as a potential solution, and discuss both its strong points and drawbacks. One recurring issue is the unavoidability and/or desirability of world government, or even a world state, as the political expression of such ideas.

    The publication informs citizens about the dangers associated with the use of biometric systems, educate them on how to recognize these dangers, how to prevent them, and also offer appropriate instructions on how to proceed in case of suspected misuse of data. Given the significant expansion of biometric technology into the everyday life of the Czech population, it is imperative to deepen awareness not only of the positives but also of the pitfalls of using this technology. Publikace bude informovat občany o nebezpečích souvisejících s používáním biometrických systému, edukovat je jak tato nebezpečí rozpoznat, jakým způsobem jim předcházet, ale take nabídne vhodné návody, jak postupovat při podezření na zneužití údajů. Vzhledem k významnému rozšíření biometrických technologií do každodenního života obyvatel ČR je nezbytně nutné prohloubit informovanost nejen o pozitivech, ale take o úskalích používaní této technologie.

    The aim of the methodology is to provide an understanding of elder abuse, its typology, manifestations, risks of occurrence and procedures for its detection and resolution. The methodology helps to translate knowledge in the field of elder abuse into practice for those who come into contact with older people on a regular basis. This can be essentially anyone who is not, or should not be, indifferent to the inappropriate treatment of an older person. Primarily, the methodology is intended for people working in support services under the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MLSA), with recommendations for other relevant actors, e.g. general practitioners and specialists, police, social departments of local governments, etc. However, it is also useful for the interested public and non-profit organisations, which also have an indispensable role in addressing this phenomenon. The presented procedures and recommendations are based on the research activities of the RESTABUS project, which are based on the findings of other research teams from all over the world and a wide range of scientific disciplines, as well as on many years of experience in working with the older people. The public consultation of this methodology is open in the form of an electronic form from 1 January 2023 to 30 June 2023 at the following link: https://1url.cz/@RESTABUS. Suggestions can also be sent in writing to Lucie Vidovićová, FSS MU, Joštova 10, 602 00 Brno. Cílem metodiky je poskytnout porozumění seniorskému abusu, jeho typologii, projevům, rizikům výskytu a postupům při jeho odhalování a řešení. Metodika pomáhá překlopení poznatků v oblasti seniorského abusu do praxe těm, kteří s lidmi vyššího věku přicházejí pravidelně do styku. Může se jednat v podstatě o kohokoliv, komu není, nebo komu by nemělo být lhostejné nevhodné zacházení s člověkem vyššího věku (viz kapitola č. 7 Detekce). Primárně je metodika určená lidem pracujícím v podpůrných službách v gesci Ministerstva práce a sociálních věcí (MPSV), s doporučením pro další relevantní aktéry, např. praktické i odborné lékaře, policii, sociální odbory místních samospráv a podobně. Využitelná je ale i pro zainteresovanou veřejnost a neziskové organizace, které mají v řešením tohoto fenoménu také svoji nezastupitelnou roli. Prezentované postupy a doporučení vycházejí z výzkumných aktivit projektu RESTABUS, které se opírají o zjištění dalších výzkumných týmů z celého světa a širokého spektra vědních disciplín, ale i z dlouholeté praxe při práci se seniory. Veřejná konzultace této metodiky probíhá formou elektronického formuláře od 1. 1. 2023 do 30. 6. 2023 na odkaze: https://1url.cz/@RESTABUS. Podněty lze zasílat i písemně na: Lucie Vidovićová, FSS MU, Joštova 10, 602 00 Brno.

    Authors: Kalouda František;

    Authors: Jackson, Ladislav;

    Authors: Cígler Hynek; Šamajová Vendula;

    Authors: Malíšková Johana; Tóth Peter;
