Development of social and emotional intelligence of preschool-age children through methods of drama education Abstract This thesis presents the concept of emotional intelligence, the level of which is based on self- awareness, self-regulation, self-motivation, empathy and social skills. Emotional intelligence is herein placed in the context of evolutionary development and anatomy of emotions, focusing on the possibilities of its development through pedagogical work. The main goal of the project was to evaluate whether preschool children can be developed in this direction through regular drama education lessons. The evaluation was based on an experimental method relying on a comparison between the results of the experimental and control groups. After 5 months of regular dramatic work, the children from the experimental group manifested a more significant improvement in their emotional and social skills when compared to the children from the control group. The presented project thus provides an unconventional source of inspiration for systematic work with children's emotions within the typical day-to-day schedule at kindergartens. Keywords: emotional intelligence, emotional and social skills, drama education, preschool age

This master thesis is focused on the phenomenon of cultural appropriation and the use of American Indian imagery in American and European culture. In both cultures are American Indians represented by distorted image of the universal White Man's Indian, which leads to the perception of them only as relicts of the past. In the United States, Native Americans try to point out the negative impacts, which the distorted image has on them, but the dominant white society refuses to acknowledge the inappropriateness of such images. The master thesis focuses on the historical evolution of the Native American image in American and European cultures. The author explains why the image was distorted and why the distortion still remains in both cultures. Then, the master thesis examines examples of appropriation of the American Indian in contemporary culture. Considering the extensiveness of this topic, the author focuses only on one example of cultural appropriation, which is the issue of Native Americans mascots and sports logos. On the American continent, the author chose the most controversial case of the Washington football team - the Washington Redskins. Despite the long history of Native American activism against the Redskins brand, the team refuses to change their racist name and logo. In Europe, the...

This bachelor thesis examines the phenomenon of internet discussions on Facebook. The starting theoretical framework for the thesis is Erving Goffman's focused interaction and the principles of fun in games theory in terms of focused interaction. The aim of this study is to find out whether the elements of fun occur in the researched environment and what form they take up. Research units were specified as discussions on the official Facebook websites of chosen online news portals. These discussions are embodied in the comments section below shared political article. 70 research units were subjected to conversation analysis. The results of the analysis show that most of the examined internet discussions can be determined as focused interaction and the elements of the game are strongly present in the discussions. The real situation in a virtual environment, however, differs from the way game elements manifest themselves in the face-to-face interaction, in which Goffman defined the concept of focused interaction originally. This work also deals with the situation of the participants leaving the interaction. In this case, it appeared that not all the characteristics of the internet discussions can be interpreted in terms of fun in games theory. Some aspects of the interaction in a virtual environment...

The introductiory part of the thesis is focused on basic knowledge about soil and compost, where the issue of compost application and the presence of edafon, which has an irreplaceable function in the soil environment, is described in more detail. Furthermore, the legal framework in the field of model plants planted in nutrient-poor soil in combination with certified Černý drak compost, which was collected at a compost plant in Brno, and the development of plants planted only soil that in poor in the important content of substances needed for plant growth. In container trials, compost was applied to the soil surface and into the soil body. The aim of this experiment was to clarify and find a suitable and appropriate method of compost application in plant cultivation. After compensating for the time needed to grow the model plants, the contend of leached nitrate nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen and phosphorus was determined in the laboratry. The amount of aboveground biomass grown was also evaluated. However, the dosage of compost depends on the cultivated crop, the given soil and the time of application.

The thesis investigates the response to flooding of five species types of trees occurring in floodplain forests of South Moravia. This work aimed to evauate different lengths of the seedling flooding and examined seedling vitality and mortality. The investigated tree species were summer oak (Quercus robur L.), hornbeam elm (Ulmus minor Mill.), heart linden (Tilia cordata Mill.), hornbeam (Carpinus betulus L.) and field maple (Acer campestre L.). The flooding experiment was conducted from April to July 2022 and at different time intervals (7-14 days) the seedlings were flooded up to the root collar. Control seedlings were not flooded but only watered. 140 seedlings of each species were flooded and were gradually removed from the flood. The results show that relatively low mortality was observed for the flooded trees in all intervals. It was lowest for Quercus robur and Tilia cordata, which were characterized by high vitality in addition to low mortality. Ulmus minor was characterized by moderately vital seedlings. Acer campestre and Carpinus betulus had the highest mortality and their vitality decreased significantly towards the end of the experiment. The hypothesis of Quercus robur's resistance to flooding has been confirmed, which means the seedlings of this tree can probably cope well with flooding even in the conditions of floodplain forests. Tilia cordata also coped very well with flooding. It has probably invested in trunk thickness in response to water stress, adapted to flooding and thus gained a competitive advantage over other tree species. The thesis confirmed the assumption that Quercus robur is a resilient tree species to flooding and Tilia cordata showed higher resilience than expected.

The food industry accounts for approximately 30% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, yet this sector has so far not been included in the emissions allowance system. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the effects of hypothetical taxation on greenhouse gas emissions in the food industry. The thesis is based on consumption data and consumer prices of 20 selected foods over a 10-year period in the Czech Republic. The hypothetical amount of the tax is set at EUR 53.51 per ton of CO2 equivalent. The outcome of the thesis research indicates that any of the 6 proposed tax scenarios can have a positive impact on the environment. Emissions originating from food could be reduced by up to 25%, depending on the chosen tax scenario.

The bachelor thesis evaluates the health status of trees in the Ostrov Municipal Forests in the district of Ústí nad Orlicí. The monitoring was carried out from October 2021 to December 2022 using the field method in two areas. The hard-to-determine fungal pathogen species found were sampled for laboratory determination. A total of 11 fungal pathogens were found, with the most important species being pine blister blight (Lophodermium pinastri), spruce budworm (Armillaria ostoyae) and alder blight (Phytophthora alni). Among insect pests, the spruce budworm (Ips typografus) and the alder weevil (Agelestica alni) were detected on alders. The stands of the Ostrov Municipal Forest are in a satisfactory state of health despite the presence of these fungal pathogens and insects.
