    Příručka je určená zejména humanitárním pracovníkům a krizovým manažerům, ale těžit z ní mohou i pracovníci integrovaného záchranného systému a další lidé, kteří se v rámci své praxe setkávají se seniory a seniorkami. Příručka pojednává o rizicích, kterým jsou senioři v krizových situacích vystaveni, a nabízí klíčová opatření, která mají za cíl snížit jejich dopady zejména na křehkou část seniorské populace. The handbook is mainly intended for humanitarian workers and crisis managers, but it can also be used by integrated rescue system workers and other people who meet senior citizens in the course of their practice. The handbook discusses the risks to which seniors are exposed in crisis situations and offers key measures aimed at reducing their impact, especially on the fragile part of the senior population.

    SLAN is a didactic tool that processes word formation for the needs of teaching Czech as a second/foreign language. The tool represents an opportunity to systematically work with word formation in the teaching of foreigners and to take advantage of the fact that more than ⅔ of the Czech vocabulary consists of derived words. SLAN je didaktickým nástrojem, který zpracovává slovotvorbu pro potřeby výuky češtiny jako druhého/cizího jazyka. Nástroj představuje možnost, jak ve výuce cizinců systematicky pracovat se slovotvorbou a využít faktu, že více než ⅔ české slovní zásoby tvoří slova odvozená.

    The text describes censorship by the management of the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University, which prohibited the free distribution of the monthly Newsletter of the Václav Klaus Institute on the premises of the faculty. He also deals with limiting the freedom of scientific research at the university and banning the speech of the President of the Republic Miloš Zeman in 2013 at Masaryk University. Text popisuje cenzuru vedení Právnické fakulty Masarykovy univerzity, které zakázalo distribuci zdarma měsíčního zpravodaje Institutu Václava Klause na půdě fakulty. Věnuje se i omezování svobody vědeckého bádání na univerzitě a zákazu vystoupení prezidenta republiky Miloše Zemana v roce 2013 na Masarykově univerzitě.

    VVI CZECRIN (Large Research Infrastructure CZECRIN) is a distributed infrastructure in the field of non-commercial clinical studies, which was established by a decision of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in 2014 and represented a robust and key infrastructure that has a unique network including most well-known clinical workplaces with an orientation to clinical research and provides expert, research, production and implementation capacities in the field of research and development of medicines, medical devices, and technologies. The mission of VVI CZECRIN is to support and implement clinical biomedical research on the national and European levels and the use of its results in real clinical practice with a direct impact on patients. The CZECRIN infrastructure represents the Czech national node of the pan-European research infrastructure ECRIN-ERIC, which connects clinically oriented research capacities in the Czech Republic with the research and application sphere in Europe and the world. Like other clinical research infrastructures within ECRIN-ERIC, VVI CZECRIN does not have the status of a legal entity, and the host institution is Masaryk University Brno. VVI CZECRIN also focuses on new areas with a significant socio-economic impact, such as pharmacoeconomics and its connection to the results of clinical evaluations. It also has a unique capacity and expertise to support the translation of new technologies into clinical practice, i.e., the ability to help create from the results of basic research products to be used in treatment. The essential role of VVI CZECRIN is also in the field of education and methodical leadership within the CZECRIN Academy. CZECRIN's comprehensive strategy with a vision characterized by the motto: "...towards patient-oriented medicine" supports national and international cooperation in clinical research to benefit patients, citizens, and healthcare. More information at www.czecrin.cz VVI CZECRIN (Velká výzkumná infrastruktura CZECRIN) je distribuovaná infrastruktura v oblasti nekomerčních klinických studií, která byla založena rozhodnutím MŠMT (Ministerstvo školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy) v roce 2014 a představuje robustní a klíčovou infrastrukturu, která disponuje unikátní sítí zahrnující většinu znamných klinických pracovišť s orientací na klinický výzkum a poskytuje expertní, výzkumné, výrobní a realizační kapacity v oblasti výzkumu a vývoje léčiv, zdravotnických prostředků a technologií. Posláním VVI CZECRIN je podpora a realizace klinického biomedicínského výzkumu na celonárodní a evropské úrovni a využití jeho výsledků v reálné klinické praxi s přímým dopadem na pacienty. Infrastruktura CZECRIN představuje český národní uzel panevropské výzkumné infrastruktury ECRIN-ERIC, což umožňuje propojení klinicky orientovaných výzkumných kapacit v ČR s výzkumnou a aplikační sférou v Evropě a ve světě. Podobně jako ostatní infrastruktury klinického výzkumu v rámci ECRIN-ERIC nemá ani VVI CZECRIN status právnické osoby a hostitelskou institucí je Masarykova univerzita Brno. VVI CZECRIN se rovněž zaměřuje na nové oblasti se značným socio-ekonomickým dopadem, jako je farmakoekonomika a její napojení na výsledky klinických hodnocení. Rovněž disponuje unikátní kapacitou a expertizou pro podporu translace nových technologií do klinické praxe, tzn. schopnost pomoci vytvořit z výsledků základního výzkumu produkt umožňující použit v léčbě. Zásadní role VVI CZECRIN je také v oblasti vzdělávání a metodického vedení v rámci CZECRIN Academy. Komplexní strategie CZECRIN s vizí charakterizovanou heslem: “…towards patient-oriented medicine“ podporuje národní a mezinárodní spolupráci v oblasti klinického výzkumu ve prospěch pacientů, občanů a zdravotní péče.     Authors: Navrátilová Jitka;

    The article highlights the complexity of the situation of children with at least one parent in prison. On the one hand, these children have to cope with the serious consequences of their parents' imprisonment and, on the other hand, they experience the consequences of the lack of interest in their fate on the part of the professional and lay public. Článek poukazuje na složitost situace dětí, u nichž je alespoň jeden z rodičů ve vězení. Tyto děti musí na straně jedné zvládat závažné důsledky, které na ně dopadají v souvislosti s uvězněním jejich rodičů a na straně druhé zakouší důsledky nezájmu o jejich osud ze strany odborné i laické veřejnosti.

    Authors: Cígler Hynek;

    Self-report measures of attitudes and personality characteristics often use items with Likert-type response scales where respondents select an answer from a range of ordered options (e.g., agree–disagree). Such response scales can differ in several formal attributes – number of options, verbal anchors, their extremity, or orientation (so-called reversed items). These may affect the reliability and validity of responses and total scores and directly affect measurement quality. With the Czech Science Foundation support (GA23-06924S), our team is researching these effects. We aim to develop a (formal) theory of response-scale format effects and provide a general psychometric model to enhance modeling them. This talk is based on our research and previous empirical evidence. It has four main goals: First, describe the effects and provide information about the known impacts of different response-scale formats on the psychometric properties of questionnaires. Second, provide existing explanations of these effects. Third, present psychometric models based on (exploratory) item-factor analysis for researching these topics. Fourth, introduce our Height Inventory and describe its advantages for researching response processes. Specific attention will be paid to the reversed items where we see the most significant research potential.

    Authors: Cígler Hynek;

    In the war year 1940, the British Society for the Advancement of Science published the final report of the so-called Ferguson committee (Ferguson et al., 1940). This had been meeting since 1932 and had been concerned with the question of whether it was possible to quantify sensory responses - in other words, whether it was possible to measure psychological phenomena at all. Although the committee agreed only that it was not in agreement on any of the issues, its results were a quite fundamental blow to measurement in psychology and thus to psychology as an empirical science. It was, however, one of the key impetuses for Stevens's (1946) representational theory of measurement, which is still a cornerstone of the Classical Test Theory and thus of the vast majority of "quantification" in psychology and the social sciences. Although the Ferguson committee influenced psychology for decades, its findings were gradually swept under the rug. Its findings are still highly relevant, however, and this is not changed by the fact that we have stopped thinking about the nature of measurement in everyday practice. Who would be stumped by it either, when all we have to do is add up the items in a questionnaire or test and we know immediately how the client is doing. However, if the whole problem can be ignored to some extent for the purposes of practical assessment, its solution is absolutely essential for the study of psychological constructs and for the development of psychology as a discipline. The fact that the scores of psychological measurement instruments are numerical in nature and that we treat them as numbers still does not mean that they are in fact numbers. Respectively: our scores are and are not numbers at the same time. Psychologists must therefore ask the right questions: is there a latent variable that we are measuring - and do we need or want it to exist? What is its nature? What purpose does measurement serve us? To what extent are our results numbers? Where did the numbers come from? In my talk, I will describe why the Ferguson Commission's conclusions are still relevant. I will justify why we still want to ask the aforesaid questions, and explain why there are no answers. Finally, I will suggest a direction that psychology can take to resolve this paradox. Ve válečném roce 1940 publikovala Britská společnost pro pokrok ve vědě závěrečný report tzv. Fergusonovy komise (Ferguson et al., 1940). Ta zasedala již od roku 1932 a zabývala se otázkou, jestli je možné kvantifikovat senzorické počitky – tedy jinými slovy, zda je vůbec možné měření psychických jevů. Přestože se komise shodla jen v tom, že se v žádném z ohledů neshodne, její výsledky znamenaly zcela zásadní ránu pro měření v psychologii a tedy i pro psychologii jako empirickou vědu. Šlo nicméně o jeden z klíčových impulzů pro Stevensovu (1946) reprezentační teorii měření, která je dodnes základním pilířem klasické testové teorie a tedy i drtivé většiny „kvantifikací“ v psychologii a sociálních vědách. Přestože Fergusonova komise ovlivnila psychologii na desítky let, její zjištění byla postupně zametaná pod koberec, až se dostala prakticky na propadliště dějin mimo hlavní proud současné psychologie. Její závěry jsou však stále vysoce relevantní, na čemž nic nemění ani to, že jsme nad podstatou měření v běžné praxi přestali uvažovat. Kdo by se tím taky zalamoval, když stačí sečíst položky v dotazníku či testu a hned víme, jak si klient vede. Pokud však lze pro účely praktické diagnostiky celý problém do jisté míry ignorovat, jeho řešení je naprosto nezbytné pro zkoumání psychologických konstruktů a pro rozvoj psychologie jako vědní disciplíny. To, že skóry psychologických měřicích nástrojů mají číselnou povahu a že s nimi zacházíme jako s čísly, totiž pořád ještě neznamená, že ve skutečnosti jde o čísla. Respektive: naše skóry čísly jsou i nejsou zároveň podobně. Psychologové si proto musí klást ty správné otázky: existuje latentní proměnná, kterou měříme – a potřebujeme či chceme, aby existovala? Jaká je její povaha? K čemu nám měření slouží? Do jaké míry jsou naše výsledky čísly? Kde se ta čísla vzala? Ve svém příspěvku popíšu, proč jsou závěry Fergusonovy komise stále aktuální. Zdůvodním, proč si chceme výše položené otázky stále klást, a vysvětlím, proč odpovědi neexistují. Nakonec naznačím směr, kudy se psychologie může ubírat, aby tento paradox vyřešila.

    VVI CZECRIN (Large Research Infrastructure CZECRIN) is a distributed infrastructure in the field of non-commercial clinical studies, which was established by a decision of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in 2014 and represented a robust and key infrastructure that has a unique network including most well-known clinical workplaces with an orientation to clinical research and provides expert, research, production and implementation capacities in the field of research and development of medicines, medical devices, and technologies. The mission of VVI CZECRIN is to support and implement clinical biomedical research on the national and European levels and the use of its results in real clinical practice with a direct impact on patients. The CZECRIN infrastructure represents the Czech national node of the pan-European research infrastructure ECRIN-ERIC, which connects clinically oriented research capacities in the Czech Republic with the research and application sphere in Europe and the world. Like other clinical research infrastructures within ECRIN-ERIC, VVI CZECRIN does not have the status of a legal entity, and the host institution is Masaryk University Brno. VVI CZECRIN also focuses on new areas with a significant socio-economic impact, such as pharmacoeconomics and its connection to the results of clinical evaluations. It also has a unique capacity and expertise to support the translation of new technologies into clinical practice, i.e., the ability to help create from the results of basic research products to be used in treatment. The essential role of VVI CZECRIN is also in the field of education and methodical leadership within the CZECRIN Academy. CZECRIN's comprehensive strategy with a vision characterized by the motto: "...towards patient-oriented medicine" supports national and international cooperation in clinical research to benefit patients, citizens, and healthcare. More information at www.czecrin.cz VVI CZECRIN (Velká výzkumná infrastruktura CZECRIN) je distribuovaná infrastruktura v oblasti nekomerčních klinických studií, která byla založena rozhodnutím MŠMT (Ministerstvo školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy) v roce 2014 a představuje robustní a klíčovou infrastrukturu, která disponuje unikátní sítí zahrnující většinu znamných klinických pracovišť s orientací na klinický výzkum a poskytuje expertní, výzkumné, výrobní a realizační kapacity v oblasti výzkumu a vývoje léčiv, zdravotnických prostředků a technologií. Posláním VVI CZECRIN je podpora a realizace klinického biomedicínského výzkumu na celonárodní a evropské úrovni a využití jeho výsledků v reálné klinické praxi s přímým dopadem na pacienty. Infrastruktura CZECRIN představuje český národní uzel panevropské výzkumné infrastruktury ECRIN-ERIC, což umožňuje propojení klinicky orientovaných výzkumných kapacit v ČR s výzkumnou a aplikační sférou v Evropě a ve světě. Podobně jako ostatní infrastruktury klinického výzkumu v rámci ECRIN-ERIC nemá ani VVI CZECRIN status právnické osoby a hostitelskou institucí je Masarykova univerzita Brno. VVI CZECRIN se rovněž zaměřuje na nové oblasti se značným socio-ekonomickým dopadem, jako je farmakoekonomika a její napojení na výsledky klinických hodnocení. Rovněž disponuje unikátní kapacitou a expertizou pro podporu translace nových technologií do klinické praxe, tzn. schopnost pomoci vytvořit z výsledků základního výzkumu produkt umožňující použit v léčbě. Zásadní role VVI CZECRIN je také v oblasti vzdělávání a metodického vedení v rámci CZECRIN Academy. Komplexní strategie CZECRIN s vizí charakterizovanou heslem: “…towards patient-oriented medicine“ podporuje národní a mezinárodní spolupráci v oblasti klinického výzkumu ve prospěch pacientů, občanů a zdravotní péče.     Authors: Navrátilová Jitka;

    Authors: Cígler Hynek;

    Authors: Cígler Hynek;
