Currencies are information infrastructures at least because they classify goods (through pricing), communicate prices across markets and establish, maintain and transform social and power relations. Possibly, information goods have always existed. New waves of information technologies (alphabet, paper, printing press, TV, computers) have emphasized those goods' peculiarities: Walter Benjamin wrote about "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" already in 1936 BUT the distinction between information and support has never been so evident since Napster. Abstract Democratic legitimacy is rarely associated with private governance. After all, private actors are not legitimized through elections by a demos. Instead of abandoning democratic principles when entering the private sphere of governance, however, this article argues in favour of employing alternative criteria of democracy in assessments. Specifically, this article uses the criteria of participation, transparency and accountability to evaluate the democratic legitimacy of private food retail governance institutions. It pursues this evaluation of the democratic legitimacy of these institutions against the background of their ambivalent impact on the sustainability of the global agrifood system. She holds a diploma on Environmental Science from the University of the Aegean, an MSc on Environmental Economics from the University of York, and a PhD from the University of Twente, Centre for Clean Technology and Environmental Policy. Agni has worked on the role of private and public actors in fostering sustainability and transparency in the food chain at the European and national (Dutch) levels. She has also published articles on corporate social responsibility strategies in European food and agricultural governance. Tetty Havinga is a senior researcher and lecturer at the Institute for the Sociology of Law of the Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands. She studied sociology at Wageningen University and obtained her PhD in 1989 with a study on Labour Offices and Collective Dismissal in the Netherlands. She published on the regulation of food safety, policy implementation and law enforcement, equal opportunities, and the relationship between migrants and the law. Tetty is interested in relations between industry and law with a view to the public interest. Her current research projects deal with the development and effects of private regulation of food safety and the experiences of large companies with Dutch special courts. Abstract In contrast to many countries, the political debates in the Netherlands on reproductive technologies and embryo research have paid particular attention to the issue of health risks to women. This article focuses on the question to what extent the discourse of gender has contributed to shaping the space for embryonic (stem cell) research in this country. The author argues that in the policy arena flexible conceptualizations of risks and burdens to women and of the identities of embryos have been crucial in drawing and maintaining a discursive boundary between the domains of medically assisted reproduction and embryo research. The author shows that feminist intervention challenging this discursive strategy has had an impact on the present regulation of research. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networking has fast become a useful technological advancement for a vast range of cyber criminal activities. Cyber crimes from copyright infringement and spamming, to serious, high financial impact crimes, such as fraud, distributed denial of service attacks (DDoS) and phishing can all be aided by applications and systems based on the technology. The requirement for investigating P2P based systems is not limited to the more well known cyber crimes listed above, as many more legitimate P2P based applications may also be pertinent to a digital forensic investigation, e.g., VoIP and instant messaging communications, etc. Investigating these networks has become increasingly difficult due to the broad range of network topologies and the ever increasing and evolving range of P2P based applications. This paper introduces the Universal Peer-to-Peer Network Investigation Framework (UP2PNIF), a framework which enables significantly faster and less labour intensive investigation of newly discovered P2P networks through the exploitation of the commonalities in network functionality. In combination with a reference database of known network protocols and characteristics, it is envisioned that any known P2P network can be instantly investigated using the framework. The framework can intelligently determine the best methodology dependant on the focus of the investigation resulting in a significantly expedited evidence gathering process. Cette methode est developpee par le CTRADA (Center for Treatment Research on Adolescence Drug Abuse) de la faculte de medecine de l?universite de Miami. Ainsi, cinq pays europeens (Belgique, France, Hollande, Allemagne, Suisse) comparent la MDFT a la prise en charge habituellement pratiquee dans leur pays respectif. This dataset records both the web collection of 60 platform economy cases around Europe and the results of 20 interviews to platform managers and co-op workers around Europe about their organisations business models based on Multidisciplinary Balance of Platform Economy framework. The selected platforms are related to four working areas: networked hospitality, taxi services, urban food delivery and domestic services. Dataset is presented in two files: 1)PLATFORM_ECONOMY_CODEBOOK.ods which includes the total amount of indicators, answer options, data source used and 2) PLATFORM_ECONOMY_BBDD_ANALYSIS.ods which includes the results for each indicator are presented in anonymised way. This data contributes to the analysis of platform economy business models performed in the frame of PLUS project (supported by European Union Horizon 2020 Programme under the grant agreement number 822638) and may be useful to study the characterization of different platform economy business models.

Abstract: The idea of the legal personhood of artificial intelligence (AI) — the idea that intelligent agents can have rights and incur obligations under the law— is controversial, and in fact is often dismissed out of hand: in this paper I will argue that, on the contrary, such legal personhood may be the next big challenge for our legal systems, and we need it to deal with the new kinds ofcomplexity introduced by AI. Furthermore, I argue that we already have experiences we can look: to this end we can draw on the reasoning applied to the legal personhood recognized for corporations and other nonhuman entities. In order to do this, I address some of the criticisms against ascribing legal personhood to AI. I also look at the Canadian and EU ethical guidelines so as to keep the development of AI within the framework of human values, and I show that an ascription of legal personhood to AI is consistent with them. I also address a few of the big issues involved in making the legal personhood of AI a reality. Student sense of belonging has been shown to be associated with many attributes such as motivation and persistence. However, sense of belonging can show variations according to factors such as race and gender. In this study, we examine the relationship between undergraduate Computer Science students' participation in networking, outreach, and mentoring activities and their sense of belonging. Results reveal lower levels of sense of belonging in women and self-identified minorities. However, we observed a higher sense of belonging in female students who participated in networking, outreach, and mentoring activities.
