Sažeta obradba čakavskih, kajkavskih, štokavskih dijalekatnih rječnika.

Sekcija farmaceuta juniora Hrvatskog farmaceutskog društva u suradnji s Udrugom studenata farmacije i medicinske biokemije Hrvatske (CPSA), uz podršku Hrvatske udruge za borbu protiv HIV-a i virusnog hepatitisa (HUHIV) obilježila je Svjetski dan AIDS-a 3. prosinca 2019. na Farmaceutsko-biokemijskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Na Farmaceutsko-biokemijskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, mnogobrojnim studentima farmacije i medicinske biokemije pružene su stručne informacije, promotivni materijali i brošure vezane uz spolno zdravlje, rizične čimbenike, spolno prenosive bolesti, a prvenstveno AIDS, na edukativnom kutku u predvorju zgrade fakulteta. Vrhunac javnozdravstvene akcije je bio blok izuzetno zanimljivih, poučnih i korisnih predavanja koja su održale tri predavačice (prof. dr. sc. Lidija Bach-Rojecky, dr. sc. Manuela Miletić, mag. med. biochem., spec. med. biochem. i Maja Erceg Tušek, mag. psych.

Geomorfološka karta Žumberka i Samoborskog gorja u mjerilu 1 : 100 000 izrađena je na temelju podataka pohranjenih u geomorfološku bazu podataka. Kartografski model geomorfološke karte definiran je kroz četiri skupine podataka: geološku građu terena, morfogenetske, morfografske i morfokronološke podatke. Pri tome je poseban naglasak dat na morfogenetskoj klasifikaciji tipova reljefa.

Lead is a heavy metal which poses environmental and occupational hazard to the populace due to its extensive use in developing countries like Nigeria. This study was aimed at evaluating the curative effects of aqueous extract of Capsicum annuum L. fruits on Lead induced oxidative stress in wistar rats. Lead acetate was administered to rats for 4 weeks and subsequently treated with 125mg/kg, 250mg/kg and 500mg/kg of the aqueous extract for 4 weeks. The results showed significant (p> 0.05) difference in the malondialdehyde concentration in all the groups except the extract control group (E-c). Activities of glutathione reductase, reduced glutathione, superoxide dismutase and catalase were reduced in the lead control group (L-c) compared to the treated groups. The deleterious effect of lead was ameliorated in the groups treated with 500mg/kg aqueous extract and the vitamins treated group. It is thus concluded that the aqueous extract amiliotrated the oxidative damage caused by lead in rats.

This paper explores the ways in which declaring the activism of Black feminist theory troubles knowledge power relations, silence and hierarchical thinking. The Rape Crisis movement (rapecrisis.org.uk) has been instrumental shaping my standpoint and work as a Black feminist activist. Throughout this journey, the political writings of Black feminist activist scholars such as Audre Lorde have and continue to be an anchor in the tasks such as:\ud • ‘[T]he transformation of silence into language and action’ (Lorde, 1977:40); \ud • Working in feminist collective structures that resist patriarchal hierarchies whilst fulfilling the requirements of governance structures; the formulation of Black feminist governance.Establishing and sustaining Black women-only feminist support services, training and Black womenonly feminist consciousness-raising spaces in the context of a Rape Crisis centres constituted of Black and white women; \ud • Attending to the specificity of the experience of difference whilst attending to the indeterminacy of difference. Working with Avtar Brah’s question, ‘[a]t what point, and in what ways, for example, does the specificity of a particular social experience become an expression of essentialism? (Brah, 1996:95); \ud • Maintaining a feminist praxis where feminist reflective processes and internal and external practical service delivery demands are mutually constitutive creating an inherent balance between doing and thinking; \ud • Remaining steadfast in our mission to form strategies of antiracist, anti-homophobic, anti-imperialist anti-capitalist feminist resistance whilst dealing with ‘that piece of the oppressor which is planted deep within each of us, and which knows only the oppressors’ tactics, the oppressors’ relationships’ (Lorde, 1980:123).

The Gram-negative Deltaproteobacterium D. vulgaris Hildenborough is able to grow with sulfate, sulfite and thiosulfate as electron acceptors and in their absence via fermentation or syntrophic association with hydrogenotrophic organisms. Despite decades of research, the mechanism of energy generation by D. vulgaris is not well understood. Genome sequence revealed genes for at list six different hydrogenases, four periplasmic and two cytoplasmic. Although some of them have been characterized, their roles in D. vulgaris remain obscure. We have examined the consequences of mutations in two cytoplasmic hydrogenases on respiratory and syntrophic growth: 1) echA (DVU0434), the first gene in the operon for the Ech type NiFe- containing hydrogenase and 2) cool (DVU2288), the third gene in the operon coding for the second cytoplasmic NiFe-containing hydrogenase Coo. Growth rate, cell yield, and metabolite production were characterized for three growth conditions: i) sulfate with lactate or pyruvate, ii) sulfate with acetate and hydrogen, and iii) in syntrophic association with a hydrogenotrophic methanogen. Hydrogen oxidation activities in soluble and membrane fractions of the mutants and a wild type were not significantly different. Although growth rates of both mutants on sulfate with pyruvate or lactate were comparable to the wild type, hydrogen evolution was much greater for the echA mutant. Growth of the echA mutant was severely impaired relative to the wild type or cooL mutant with sulfate and hydrogen/CO2, but this mutation had little affect on syntrophic growth on either lactate or pyruvate. Syntrophic growth of the cooL mutant was severely impaired on lactate but not on pyruvate. Based on these observations we concluded that the main role of the Ech hydrogenase is in hydrogen oxidation. The Coo hydrogenase likely directly coupled the oxidation of lactate to pyruvate by accepting electrons and reducing protons inside the cells.
