    The core idea for this Special Issue is to reflect upon the dynamics of participation both by individuals and by groups acting in solidarity with migrants in different contexts at the individual, local and transnational levels. Using the concept of “solidarities” to address the relation between persons who have experienced migration and persons who have not, and between people and institutions, enables research to escape the “us vs. them” dichotomy, extending the debate on deservingness to society as a whole. Moreover, with the development of crossborder volunteering and the diffusion of multi-scalar partnerships between subnational governments and civil society organisations, solidarities are rescaled, and encompass new forms beyond national welfare mechanisms. Bringing together a rich collection of empirical cases that ranges from the reception of the Rohingya refugees in the Cox Bazar region of Bangladesh to border crossings along the Balkan route, from disaster solidarity in the Hanshin area in Japan to Ukrainian refugee reception in Italy, we explore acts of solidarity in different contexts as a way to try and make sense of when solidarity towards migrants is a political act, when it is about providing basic provisions subcontracted by the state to local or non-governmental actors, and when it is an act of defiance against the state.

    We present the first measurement of event-by-event fluctuations in the kaon sector in Pb - Pb collisions at root S-NN = 2.76 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The robust fluctuation correlator nu(dyn) is used to evaluate the magnitude of fluctuations of the relative yields of neutral and charged kaons, as well as the relative yields of charged kaons, as a function of collision centrality and selected kinematic ranges. While the correlator nu(dyn) [K+,K-] exhibits a scaling approximately in inverse proportion of the charged particle multiplicity, nu(dyn)[K-S(0),K-+/-] features a significant deviation from such scaling. Within uncertainties, the value of nu(dyn) [K-S(0), K-+/-] is independent of the selected transverse momentum interval, while it exhibits a pseudorapidity dependence. The results are compared with HIJING, AMPT and EPOS-LHC predictions, and are further discussed in the context of the possible production of disoriented chiral condensates in central Pb - Pb collisions.

    Industrial cultivations are a key source of many products. Each cultivation requires a specific producing organism, conditions and \napparatus. Stirred tanks are most commonly used bioreactors, due to their efficient homogenization and versatility. However, they are \nnot entirely suitable for cultivation of shear sensitive cells. Bubble columns are more suitable option for shear sensitive cells. Overall \ncomparison of bubble columns and stirred tanks is complicated, since every cultivation is situational.\nBubble columns are simple and easy to build bioreactors, which require a smaller starting investment compared to STRs. In the case \nof BCs without the internals, they required less maintenance due to lack of complex mechanical parts. However, BCs are not as ver‑\nsatile as STRs and are much more situational. Even though, they are unreplaceable part of today’s industry, especially in cultivations \nof shear sensitive cells in high volumes, like production of citric acid or antibiotics.\nDirect comparison of BC and STR is difficult. Some studies have conducted tests with specific cultivations on minds. Still, the final \nchoice between these bioreactors depends on application, cell line used and final economics of the entire process.

    A search for the direct production of charginos and neutralinos in final states with at least two hadronically decaying tau leptons is presented. The analysis uses a dataset of pp collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1 , recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. No significant deviation from the expected Standard Model background is observed. Limits are derived in scenarios of pair production and of and production in simplified models where the neutralinos and charginos decay solely via intermediate left-handed staus and tau sneutrinos, and the mass of the τ~L state is set to be halfway between the masses of the and the . Chargino masses up to 630 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level in the scenario of direct production of for a massless . Common and masses up to 760 GeV are excluded in the case of production of and assuming a massless .

    The Great Ball Game Hall of Prague Castle, dating from the years 1567–1569 and built for Emperor Maximilian II, presents an exceptional architectural realization. Apart from the representative appearance of the Great Ball Game Hall also its unusual scale is singular: It is roughly twice as long as was the custom and as was recommended by the Trattato del giuoco della palla by Antonio Scaino (Ferrara 1555). The dimensions of the building are linked to the question of how the Great Ball Game Hall was actually used. Archival sources from the time of the reign of Emperor Rudolf II indicate that it was used probably for the pallone game and not for the game of tennis. From the framework given by the historiography of Renaissance sports and recreation evolves the hypothesis that also covered buildings for the pallone game existed – contrary to the dominant opinion that the game was played exclusively outdoors.

    A method for the data assimilation of fuel moisture surface observations has been developed for the purpose of incorporation in wildfire forecasting and fire danger rating. In this work, we describe the method itself and also an online computer system that implements the method and combines it with the Real-Time Mesoscale Analysis to track local weather conditions and estimate the fuel moisture content in the state of Colorado. We discuss the construction of the system and future development.

    The final ATLAS Run 1 measurements of Higgs boson production and couplings in the decay channel H→ZZ*→ℓ+ℓ-ℓ′+ℓ′-, where ℓ, ℓ′=e or μ, are presented. These measurements were performed using pp collision data corresponding to integrated luminosities of 4.5 and 20.3 fb-1 at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, respectively, recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The H→ZZ*→4ℓ signal is observed with a significance of 8.1 standard deviations, with an expectation of 6.2 standard deviations, at mH=125.36 GeV, the combined ATLAS measurement of the Higgs boson mass from the H→γγ and H→ZZ*→4ℓ channels. The production rate relative to the Standard Model expectation, the signal strength, is measured in four different production categories in the H→ZZ*→4ℓ channel. The measured signal strength, at this mass, and with all categories combined, is 1.44-0.33+0.40.\n

    The core idea for this Special Issue is to reflect upon the dynamics of participation both by individuals and by groups acting in solidarity with migrants in different contexts at the individual, local and transnational levels. Using the concept of “solidarities” to address the relation between persons who have experienced migration and persons who have not, and between people and institutions, enables research to escape the “us vs. them” dichotomy, extending the debate on deservingness to society as a whole. Moreover, with the development of crossborder volunteering and the diffusion of multi-scalar partnerships between subnational governments and civil society organisations, solidarities are rescaled, and encompass new forms beyond national welfare mechanisms. Bringing together a rich collection of empirical cases that ranges from the reception of the Rohingya refugees in the Cox Bazar region of Bangladesh to border crossings along the Balkan route, from disaster solidarity in the Hanshin area in Japan to Ukrainian refugee reception in Italy, we explore acts of solidarity in different contexts as a way to try and make sense of when solidarity towards migrants is a political act, when it is about providing basic provisions subcontracted by the state to local or non-governmental actors, and when it is an act of defiance against the state.

    We present the first measurement of event-by-event fluctuations in the kaon sector in Pb - Pb collisions at root S-NN = 2.76 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The robust fluctuation correlator nu(dyn) is used to evaluate the magnitude of fluctuations of the relative yields of neutral and charged kaons, as well as the relative yields of charged kaons, as a function of collision centrality and selected kinematic ranges. While the correlator nu(dyn) [K+,K-] exhibits a scaling approximately in inverse proportion of the charged particle multiplicity, nu(dyn)[K-S(0),K-+/-] features a significant deviation from such scaling. Within uncertainties, the value of nu(dyn) [K-S(0), K-+/-] is independent of the selected transverse momentum interval, while it exhibits a pseudorapidity dependence. The results are compared with HIJING, AMPT and EPOS-LHC predictions, and are further discussed in the context of the possible production of disoriented chiral condensates in central Pb - Pb collisions.

    Industrial cultivations are a key source of many products. Each cultivation requires a specific producing organism, conditions and \napparatus. Stirred tanks are most commonly used bioreactors, due to their efficient homogenization and versatility. However, they are \nnot entirely suitable for cultivation of shear sensitive cells. Bubble columns are more suitable option for shear sensitive cells. Overall \ncomparison of bubble columns and stirred tanks is complicated, since every cultivation is situational.\nBubble columns are simple and easy to build bioreactors, which require a smaller starting investment compared to STRs. In the case \nof BCs without the internals, they required less maintenance due to lack of complex mechanical parts. However, BCs are not as ver‑\nsatile as STRs and are much more situational. Even though, they are unreplaceable part of today’s industry, especially in cultivations \nof shear sensitive cells in high volumes, like production of citric acid or antibiotics.\nDirect comparison of BC and STR is difficult. Some studies have conducted tests with specific cultivations on minds. Still, the final \nchoice between these bioreactors depends on application, cell line used and final economics of the entire process.

    A search for the direct production of charginos and neutralinos in final states with at least two hadronically decaying tau leptons is presented. The analysis uses a dataset of pp collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1 , recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. No significant deviation from the expected Standard Model background is observed. Limits are derived in scenarios of pair production and of and production in simplified models where the neutralinos and charginos decay solely via intermediate left-handed staus and tau sneutrinos, and the mass of the τ~L state is set to be halfway between the masses of the and the . Chargino masses up to 630 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level in the scenario of direct production of for a massless . Common and masses up to 760 GeV are excluded in the case of production of and assuming a massless .

    Potassium promoted Co-Mn-Al mixed oxide catalysts belong to active catalysts forcatalytic N2O decomposition [1] . Many factors can influence catalytic activity of prepared catalyst. Therefore, in this study the effect of calcination temperature on physico-chemical properties and catalytic activity of K/Co4MnAlOx mixed oxide wasinvestigated.
