    Otoliths, which are calcified structures located in the inner ear of fishes, are useful tools for studying the biology of fishes. This information is crucial for determining factors that affect daily growth in aquaculture fishes. My study examined the daily growth of juvenile barramundi (Lates calcarifer), a commercially important aquaculture fish globally, by measuring the daily increment widths of otoliths. The first aim of my study was to establish that daily rings from aquaculture barramundi were adequate for growth analysis. The second aim was to identify the external factors affecting daily growth, such as temperature and tank treatments performed to protect or battle against diseases. Sagittal otoliths were extracted from 50 barramundi obtained from a Singapore aquaculture farm, sectioned and read under a stereo microscope. Daily increment widths were measured, and linear mixed models were used for analysis. Daily otolith rings were found to be distinct and consistent throughout the otolith, and hence adequate for analysis. My results showed that daily growth was influenced by 4-day lagged sea surface temperatures, with an optimal temperature approximately 29.6°C. Tank treatments (antibiotics, formalin and heating) did not have a significant impact on growth. However, future analysis should be performed to better refine possible impacts from tank treatments. With the threat of rising sea surface temperatures, my findings suggest that growth of aquaculture barramundi in Southeast Asia might decrease in the future.     Research on the Species and Amphibian Community Composition in Nature Park/Nature Preserve (TWA/CA) Sibolangit and Sembahe Village, Sibolangit Subdistrict, Deli Serdang regency of North Sumatra have been carried out in February 2010. This study aims to determine the spesies and composition of amphibian communities in the TWA/CA Sibolangit and Sembahe Village. This research using Visual Encounter Survey-Night Stream (VES-NS) and Square Plot Methods. The results showed that as much as 2 orders, 13 genera, 23 species are found at both sites where Polypedates leucomystax density value (K) the highest (K = 36.11 ind/ha) in the TWA/CA Sibolangit and Rana chalconota (K=26.67 ind/ha) in the Village Sembahe. Frequency of Presence (FK), the highest in the TWA/CA Sibolangit is Limnonectes kuhlii each category accessories (FK=25.64%). While in the Sembahe Village occupied by the species Bufo juxtasper and Rana hosii each category accessories (33.33%). Got 2 species of amphibians which have a value of KR>10% and FK>25% is Limnonectes kuhlii (KR=11.62%, FK=25.64%) in the TWA/CA Sibolangit while Rana hosii (KR=11.58%, FK=33.33%) in the Sembahe Village. The highest species composition in the TWA/CA Sibolangit is Polypedates leucomystax while along the river is Rana chalconota in the Sembahe Village. 050805063

    The aim of this paper is to investigate the extent to which local budget composition reacts to variations in fiscal spending rules. It looks at Italian subnational governments and specific changes in the institutional framework, implementing a difference-in-discontinuities strategy. Results show that when a reduction in current spending is imposed, local authorities direct the cut towards services. Furthermore, when an increase in capital spending is allowed, there is an increase in spending on infrastructure and local public debt. JRC.B.1-Finance and Economy

    Nuevas modalidades de lectura y escritura son cada vez más solicitadas para la producción de conocimiento en el contexto contemporáneo. Así, este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar las formas de interacción entre los estudiantes de las Licenciaturas Interdisciplinarias de la Universidad Federal de Bahía con Zotero, lo que contribuye a la alfabetización digital de estos estudiantes. Por lo tanto, se realizó una investigación cualitativa mediante un cuestionario y observación participante para la producción de datos. Los resultados de la investigación señalan la dificultad de los estudiantes para alfabetizarse en entornos digitales, especialmente en aquellos que requieren conocimientos previos de normalización que gestionan trabajos académicos como Zotero. Novas modalidades de leitura e escrita têm se tornado cada vez mais requisitadas para a produção de conhecimento no contexto contemporâneo. Assim, este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as formas de interação dos alunos dos Bacharelados Interdisciplinares da Universidade Federal da Bahia com o Zotero, que contribui com o letramento digital desses estudantes. Portanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa utilizando questionário e observação participante para a produção de dados. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam a dificuldade dos alunos em se tornarem letrados em ambientes digitais, especialmente naqueles que exigem conhecimentos prévios de normatização que gerenciam os trabalhos acadêmicos como o Zotero. New ways of reading and writing appear in the contemporary context for the production of knowledge. This article aims to analyze the forms of interaction between the students of the interdisciplinary degrees of the Federal University of Bahia with Zotero, which contributes to the digital literacy of these students. For this, a qualitative investigation was carried out using a questionnaire and the observation of the participants for the production of data. The research results indicate the difficulty of students to become literate in digital environments, especially those that require prior knowledge of standardization for academic works such as Zotero.

    Research on the Species and Amphibian Community Composition in Nature Park/Nature Preserve (TWA/CA) Sibolangit and Sembahe Village, Sibolangit Subdistrict, Deli Serdang regency of North Sumatra have been carried out in February 2010. This study aims to determine the spesies and composition of amphibian communities in the TWA/CA Sibolangit and Sembahe Village. This research using Visual Encounter Survey-Night Stream (VES-NS) and Square Plot Methods. The results showed that as much as 2 orders, 13 genera, 23 species are found at both sites where Polypedates leucomystax density value (K) the highest (K = 36.11 ind/ha) in the TWA/CA Sibolangit and Rana chalconota (K=26.67 ind/ha) in the Village Sembahe. Frequency of Presence (FK), the highest in the TWA/CA Sibolangit is Limnonectes kuhlii each category accessories (FK=25.64%). While in the Sembahe Village occupied by the species Bufo juxtasper and Rana hosii each category accessories (33.33%). Got 2 species of amphibians which have a value of KR>10% and FK>25% is Limnonectes kuhlii (KR=11.62%, FK=25.64%) in the TWA/CA Sibolangit while Rana hosii (KR=11.58%, FK=33.33%) in the Sembahe Village. The highest species composition in the TWA/CA Sibolangit is Polypedates leucomystax while along the river is Rana chalconota in the Sembahe Village. 050805063

    The aim of this paper is to investigate the extent to which local budget composition reacts to variations in fiscal spending rules. It looks at Italian subnational governments and specific changes in the institutional framework, implementing a difference-in-discontinuities strategy. Results show that when a reduction in current spending is imposed, local authorities direct the cut towards services. Furthermore, when an increase in capital spending is allowed, there is an increase in spending on infrastructure and local public debt. JRC.B.1-Finance and Economy

    Nuevas modalidades de lectura y escritura son cada vez más solicitadas para la producción de conocimiento en el contexto contemporáneo. Así, este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar las formas de interacción entre los estudiantes de las Licenciaturas Interdisciplinarias de la Universidad Federal de Bahía con Zotero, lo que contribuye a la alfabetización digital de estos estudiantes. Por lo tanto, se realizó una investigación cualitativa mediante un cuestionario y observación participante para la producción de datos. Los resultados de la investigación señalan la dificultad de los estudiantes para alfabetizarse en entornos digitales, especialmente en aquellos que requieren conocimientos previos de normalización que gestionan trabajos académicos como Zotero. Novas modalidades de leitura e escrita têm se tornado cada vez mais requisitadas para a produção de conhecimento no contexto contemporâneo. Assim, este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as formas de interação dos alunos dos Bacharelados Interdisciplinares da Universidade Federal da Bahia com o Zotero, que contribui com o letramento digital desses estudantes. Portanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa utilizando questionário e observação participante para a produção de dados. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam a dificuldade dos alunos em se tornarem letrados em ambientes digitais, especialmente naqueles que exigem conhecimentos prévios de normatização que gerenciam os trabalhos acadêmicos como o Zotero. New ways of reading and writing appear in the contemporary context for the production of knowledge. This article aims to analyze the forms of interaction between the students of the interdisciplinary degrees of the Federal University of Bahia with Zotero, which contributes to the digital literacy of these students. For this, a qualitative investigation was carried out using a questionnaire and the observation of the participants for the production of data. The research results indicate the difficulty of students to become literate in digital environments, especially those that require prior knowledge of standardization for academic works such as Zotero.
