Humanitarų mokslo darbuose vyraujanti nuomonė apie ypatingą LDK kultūrinio ir visuomeninio gyvenimo polonizacijos, vykusios antroje XVI a. pusėje - XVII a. mastą, yra pagrįsta svarbiais politiniais įvykiais. Tačiau raštijos ir spaudos paveldo tyrinėjimai, ypač statistiniai duomenys, liudytų kitokias kultūrinio gyvenimo tendencijas. Straipsnyje ir bus siekiama parodyti tuos kiekybinius rodiklius, atspindinčius tikresnį, didesnį LDK lotyniškos spaudos svorį, lyginant su knyga kitomis kalbomis. Statistiniai senųjų spaudos amžių duomenys įvairiuose tyrinėjimuose ne visuomet sutampa. Vis dėlto įžvelgti tam tikras knygos raidos tendencijas, be abejo, galima. Kitų šaltinių duomenimis XVII a. LDK išėjo 818 spaudinių lenkų kalba. Straipsnio autorės sudarytą lotyniškų knygų repertuarą sudaro 1552 leidiniai (XV a. - 324 , XVI a. - 358, XVII a. - 1191), arba 1412 pavadinimų (XV a. - 3, XVI a. - 337, XVII a. - 1072). Kirilicos šrifto knygų XVI-XVII a. išėjo 187. XVI-XVII a. Taigi, kaip matyti netgi iš šių ne visuomet tikslių duomenų, leidiniai lotynų kalba sudaro maždaug pusę XVI-XVII a. LDK spausdintos produkcijos. Tai atitinka tą leidybos padėtį, kuri tuo pat metu buvo susiklosčiusi Europoje. Reikšminiai žodžiai: Bibliografija; Istorija (XV-XVII a.); Kiekybinės charakteristikos; Knygų repertuaras; Lietuvos Didžioji Kunigaikštystė (LDK; Grand Duchy of Lithuania; GDL); Lotyniškos knygos; Lotynų kalba; Senos knygos; Statistika; Statistinė analizė; Įvairiakalbiai leidiniai; Bibliography; Book repertory; History (XV-XVII c.); Latin; Latin books; Multilingual printings; Old books; Quantitative rate; Statistical Analysis; Statistics The opinion about the extraordinary scope of the Polonisation of cultural and social life of the GDL in the second half of the 16th–the 17th c. prevailing in humanitarian scientific works is based on significant political events. However, surveys of the written language and press heritage, especially statistical data, point to other tendencies in cultural life. The article seeks to show those quantitative indicators reflecting the actual and wider scope of Latin press of the GDL if compared with books in other languages. Statistic data of the old publications do not always coincide in various surveys. However, certain tendencies in book development can be observed. According to the data from other sources, in the 17th c., a total of 818 publications in Polish saw the light. The repertoire of Latin books compiled by the author consists of 1552 publications (324 of the 15th c., 358 of the 16th c., 1191 – of the 17th c,) or 1412 titles (3 of the 15th c., 337 of the 16th c., and 1072 of the 17th c.). A total of 187 book were published in the Cyrillic alphabet on the 16th–17th c. 39 publications were published in the Lithuanian alphabet. The major share of the Latin publications consist only of texts in the Latin language. About 4% of all publications have some texts in other languages: Polish, Old Greek, Jewish, Lithuanian, Italian, etc. Therefore, as it can be seen from data, which are not always accurate, publications in the Latin language make about half of the printed production of the GDL in the 16th–17th c. It corresponds to the publishing experience, which was prevailing in Europe at those times.

Multiple stressors, such as overfishing, pollution, climate change, biological invasions etc., are affecting fish communities, and thus can have versatile effects on marine ecosystems and socio-economic activities as well. Understanding the changes in the fish community structure is ecologically and economically important, yet a very complex issue, requiring comprehensive analysis of multiple factors. The role of regional oceanographic variability, namely, coastal upwelling, is often neglected when it comes to the analysis of fish assemblages. In this perspective, we were aiming, for the first time in the Baltic Sea, to assess the upwelling influence on fish communities and fish community-based ecological indices used under Marine Strategy Framework Directive. The study covered a long-term period (2000–2019) for upwelling identified by satellite data analysis and fish gillnet surveys, performed in three distinct locations in the coastal waters of the SE Baltic Sea. Overall, our study revealed that temporal dynamics of fish abundance and community composition were associated with the presence of coastal upwelling. The study outcomes suggest that the fish community was more diverse and a higher number of some fish species was observed before upwelling. During upwelling, there was more evident dominance of 1–2 main marine fish species. Through the changes in fish abundance and species composition upwelling was also responsible for the changes in fish community structure-based indices for marine environment status, i.e., in the majority of the cases a decrease in Trophic, Piscivorous Fish, and Diversity indices were observed. Our study demonstrates that upwelling can affect both, the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of coastal fish communities, therefore, it is important to consider this when predicting shifts in the distribution of fish stocks or assessing environmental status indicators, especially under changing climate. We believe that our approach adds novel information to the study of coastal ecosystems of the Baltic Sea and is important for better management of socio-economic activities in the coastal zone.
