The method of production of magnesium silicide and its processing, according to which a mixture of magnesium particles of 30 to 200 microns and silicon nanoparticles of 10 to 5000 nm is heated to a temperature of 560 to 640°C which is maintained for the time required to achieve the desired degree of conversion of Si and Mg, and the magnesium silicide thus obtained is then subjected to acid hydrolysis to form silanes and hydrolysates. To obtain the amorphous structure of magnesium silicide, in the first step, the mixture of magnesium microparticles and silicon nanoparticles is heated to a temperature in the range of 280°C to 450°C, the resulting particles are then cooled to a maximum of 65°C and are mechanically ground to a size of 10 to 50 microns, and the microparticles thus treated are, in the second step, heated to a temperature of 560 to 640°C in an inert gas atmosphere or under pressure of 2 kPa.
