Abstract

Abstract: The article´s object is Brazilian social-liberalism thesis on economic development including equity and its policy proposals regarding the “social question”. Our work hypothesis is that within the neoliberal era some thought approaches on Brazilian social liberalism enrolled in a new period that relates to Lukács concept of ideological decadence of the bourgeois though. Besides the presentation of the main thesis of Brazilian social liberalism, we intend to put in light the debate and some critics of those approaches using the Marxist theoretical framework. We also intend to underline the theoretical limits of Brazilian social-liberalism and the boundaries of its class perspective.
